Poem Hotel Istanbul

This hotel has a terrific location, and wonderful staff. One is made to feel very welcome and well cared for. The All of a Sudden Room on the top floor, is the best in the place, and I recommend it highly. The room opens up to a balcony with a sweeping view of the sea and Asian Istanbul. The hotel is quite inexpensive, and thus all the rooms are rather small. But it is absolutely worth staying at for a true Istanbul experience.

50 euro per night is far too expensive for this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were really small and the showers funktioning poorly. We stayed in two rooms, the one on the bottom floor was really dark. There was a "buffee" breakfast, with not much on offer and the coffee was really just brown water. The positive things are the views from the roof terrace (the sea, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Moscue; good location), and good information about Istanbul and Turkey in the reception. But all in all, definitely not a three star hotel.

This hotel Is nice but very expensive 60 Euros/night double room, we were given Prometeus room and I found it really small. The breakfast is very bad compared to any other breakfast I have seen. Just bread couple of olives, fgew pieces of fruit and one of the most horrible black teas I have ever tried. The Poem is a jewel tucked away on a side street from the many tourist bars and restaurants. The nights were quiet and the mornings filled with birds chirping and the smell of fresh bread in the bakery next door.The hotel is basic and that is what gives it its charm. It is a safe, cozy and wonderful haven in a busy city. The staff cannot be thanked enough as they are the true heart of the hotel and are fantastic in every way. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel ensured that we were always in the heart of the action. Walking distance from most of the attractions you would come to Istanbul for, plenty of placed to eat nearby, shopping stalls etc. The hotel doesnt claim to be the best in town but it had all the facilities you could possibly need and we had a lovely time. Wonderful fresh breakfast (tomatoes, yogurt, olives--two kinds--to die for!). Courteous staff who speak good English. Located right behind Hagia Sophia, walking distance to everything in Sultanahmet. Highly recommended.

Hotel Poem is a really lovely little hotel in Sultanahmet, Istanbul, just off one of the main streets. It's clean, quiet and the staff were very friendly, if you ask for the War and Lovers room, you'll get a large Double room, a view of the Bosphorus and what's more the sight of leaping dolphins! Highly recommended!

The Poem hotel is ideally situated in the Sultanhamet area of Istanbul and is a short walk to many of the sights, including the stunning Blue Mosque. The staff are certainly friendly and cannot be faulted on their customer service, as they organised a very early morning taxi ride to the airport for me and my friends. We stayed there for a couple of nights (1,2 October). It is very well located, close to Saint Sofia and the Blue Mosque. It is a good price, as we found Istambul not very cheap. You can use the internet for free. Rooms are small and simple, but you don't need more after walking all day!!!!! We went to Capadoccia as well and stayed at Sato Pension in Goreme. I am not a world traveller and so have few comparisons to make with this Hotel and others but I enjoyed my six days stay and was very sad to leave. The manager is an enthusiastic character and, with the help of his young staff, creates a truly ‘home from home’ atmosphere. I fell in love with the place. My room, which seemed freshly decorated, had its own en suite shower room and an air conditioning unit.
