Arrived at appartment at 10pm, said hello a number of times, because the receptionist was behind the semi circle wall watching a football match and couldn't be called away. Finally booked in and were directed to our appartment. When entered appartment was confronted with... more

We arrived late evening and was given a ground floor apartment, no lights, ants, only 2 pillows between the 4 of us and the wrong key to the safety deposit box. the balcony door would of been easily opened from the out side if it wasn't for the fact that it was jammed !!! ... more

If you are looking for a cheap basic holiday then these apartments are fine. They are very dated and in desperate need on modernisation. We were infested the first night with cockroches including my husband being woken with one on his face. Reception apologised and said... more

Very clean and comfortable apartment. Lovely sea view and decent sized terrace. Very well located in the centre of the resort and very close to two beaches. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Amenities were good. We only had breakfast but it was varied and tasty. Had a great time and will definately go back.

A Little Warning
Firstly, I will say that this is the first time I have commented in any of these review sites before. Alas, I feel compelled to warn others who may be thinking of going to this place. I have just returned from 1 week in Puerto Tahiche and this is my honest findings. Upon arrival I was allocated a room which was not very clean. No towels were present in the room and it did smell stale. When I lay on the bed the headboard was completely away from the wall and the light switches exposed...one of them fell on to the bed and sparks were noticed. I complained and got moved to a 'refurbished' room. Ok, this room had a good view onto to the sea, but the only refurbishment I could see was a new laminate type flooring and part of the walls painted. The bathroom was in dire need of a really thorough cleaning and under the water level of the toilet the bowl was black and in need of strong bleach!! The room remained uncleaned until the 2nd last day I was there and even then the bathroom remained untouched. I also saw maids throwing black bags from the 2nd floor with the result that the bags burst open on hitting the ground and the contents ended up being blown around everywehere by the wind. Someone had been sick on the ground in a general walkway and that took nearly a day to get cleaned up. The pool area is very congested and not enough sunbeds to go around ...this results in people standing in a queue for up to 1 hour before the sunbeds get released at 9.30 !! If you hire a car be warned that parking is very limited around the hotel and you have to park in the main street away from the hotel (my vehicle got vandalised overnight parked in the street, but that is another story !!) The plus side to the complex is its locality. It is within walking distance to all the main areas of Costa Teguise. So overall I'd say the hotel is VERY basic and needs a dramatic improvement in its cleanliness. As for the refurbished areas...well that seems to have been a token effort. I have stayed in Lanzarote already this year and there are far superior 3 star appartments than the Puerto Tahiche.
Just The Best!!
The hotel overall was excellent! very clean and the staff was so friendly. when we arrived we had to wait a few minutes for our room to get checked and then when we got into our room it was an excellent size and very clean. the views from our windows were great. there are two good sized pools and two baby pools which get cleaned every morning. there is everything you need nearby the hotel; spar, gift shops, resturants, the beaches, pubs, beauty salon and much more. the atmosphere is so positive. the best holiday i have had yet! the wether is great very very hot but yet there is a breeze. i would recommend this any one and every one. the people around are so friendly. i was so upset that it was all over and having to leave, i would definatley go back a.s.a.p!! have a good time those poeple thinking of going.. and you have to go to the english bar nearby the hotel - ''the bulldog'' its fun fun fun!
top class family holiday again
second time to this complex and yet again had a fantastic time. lots to do and get involved in . the hotel staff are great especially the entertainment guys. (little em dopey dale and becky boo we loved you). rafiel, salim, manuel, eric and all the other staff that looked after us during our two weeks thank you. there was so much to do for kids and adults alike. the shows at night in the piano bar were worth seeing and then down to the brandy well for a sing song on the karioke ended our night off nicely. we will be back next year .
Excellent family holiday
This was an excellent holiday. I have just returned in the last couple of days from Puerto Tahiche and I would certainly recommend it. This is an excellent family holiday location (no nightclubs or lager louts) the locals love the kids and make them feel really welcome. The hotel has something for the kids and something in the Brandy Well Pub within the hotel later on for the adults. The accomodation is very clean with microwave, hob, fridge with freezer compartment and if you wish you can hire a toaster and kettle from reception. The pools are very child friendly (2 kids pools and 2 larger pools for adult swimming also). This was the first holiday abroad for our two small children (one 4years old and one 8 months old) both really enjoyed themselves. We will certainly consider returning for another holiday to this hotel.
Brilliant
Great holiday spent in apts! Oct 2003. Read reviews before going and were really apprehensive. Found the staff very helpful, the kids loved the kiddies club (especially Dani!!), really clean with fantastic views of the sea. Perfect location - quite a night and right beside the sea. Would love to go back.
well then
Stopped at the Puerto Tahichi april 2004, I thought the apartments were great but the other 3 famalies that came with us had loads of problems. Mold , damp patches and a hob that melted the drawer underneath it . But i must admit all problems were sorted straight away and they were all offered other rooms straight away. The staff were great especially Erik. The pool was good and not freezing like some people have said, you just need to get used to it. Just one complaint from me The beer was a bit expensive so not many people drank in the bar om a night. A large beer(0.3l) 2.6 euro, small beer (0.2l) 2 euro, which works out at 4.6 euro a pint. The resort was good as well but not very busy. All in all I had a good time.
amazing
fantastic holiday great value for money staff are really helpfull - going back next year
Enjoyable Holiday
We Got back 12th april 2004 we had a fantastic holiday 2 adults and 2 children. The pools are cold and great for swimming and playing in and kept to a good standard. The complex is on two sides we were on the older side but while there it seemed to be the better side. We were on the ground floor which was perfect as we could sit on the patio or round the pool and keep our eye on the children .The facilities were good and the entertainment was very enjoyable the shows the reps put on were funny and the acts they got in were brilliant especially thr riverdance troop. The location was excellent and the restaurants very resonable they have an excellent selection for children... The only let down was the room it was very basic. the day we left they had just had a delivery of new combi microwaves which would of been useful. You could get kettles for a deposit of 25 euros from reception take a travel kettle...The room had damp on the walls and the bathroom did smell of urine. We had to ask for the bedding to be changed on the 8th day but towels are changed mon-wed fri-sat. We only saw 3 cockroaches in the apartment during our stay but spray is provided..We would highly recommend the tour and the medieval night was a fabulous way to end our holiday....If you go with an open mind like we did you will have a fantastic time .
Never again will we stay in these apartments!
Hi, We are just back a few days from Lanzarote. At first when we arrived the apartment it seemed to be a good size, and the location was great. The cleanliness of the apartment left alot to be desired, on arriving there was a cigarette butt behind the toilet pan this was on the thurs, i eventually picked it up myself on Sunday after the cleaner had been in fri and sat morning. The bathroom stank of urine everytime you flushed the toilet, and i ended up scrubbing the bathroom on Sunday morning and getting toilet duck etc as we couldn't stand the smell anymore. We found a stick of kitkat under our bed on arrival and a pair of socks. It seemed to us that the apartment hadn't been cleaned before we came. For cooking with we only had a small pan and that was it, thankfully i had took my own family frying pan as when we asked for more pots the frying pan was small enough to cook for one person, this is strange considering we had an apartment that slept six. My sons 3, 4 ended up both ill, 4 days after arriving with sickness and diahorrea, this lasted right through till the day after we got home. Unfortunetly my youngest was sick all over the floor, i ran down to ask about a mop and was told we couldn't have one as the maids only had one each. They couldn't spare me one, but the maid came up and cleaned it for us, thankyou to this individual but i would have rather did it myself it's not a pleasant thing to do. After yet another sicky accident, i eventually got my own mop and no bucket. The Kitchen sink was leaking into the cupboard underneath, this was rotten and stank. I got myself a baguette from the hotel the last day before we went home, this was the first time we had eaten anything in the hotel, and it was stale and i spotted some mouldy green bits but they had tried to cover this up with cremating the bread, it was disgusting! I have been many SC holidays and have never experienced any apartments like this, the location could not have been any better, but the rest i would have left. This will make me reconsider ever going with Airtours again. We are off to Furterventura later in the year and hope this time not be disappointed.
absolutely fabulous
we have just come back from a brilliant week. Oh how i love lazarote. Never been before so i was a little apprehensive about the scenery wind and cockroaches. We went on an islend tour the scenery was spectacular, it was quite windy but it was a warm wind and very welcome as it would have been too hot without it it also meant that you didnt need air con in the rooms (just open the door) and we only saw two cockroaches and that was in the evening by the pool. Brandy Well pub in the complex has the best lad called Jullio who runs the entertainment(dont miss his quiz night) he is so friendly and very very funny. Also try the Cassa Blanca Grill just to the right as you go out th door. I am just writing this review as i am about to book for next year i lovved it so much(if you dont want the winds apparently go sep-nov)
