I would just like to say a few things...
6 / 10
Oct 2007, Mr C Campbell

I would just like to say a few things regarding this aparthotel, I have been here numerous times, and we have enjoyed our stay. We book self-catering then upgrade to half board or all inclusive when we arrive. Around the pool area it is clean and always looks nice the guys looking after that area do a good job. Now in the apartment the cleaners need a lesson in hygiene they are in your apartment for 5 mins if that they never look behind the curtains on the patio doors its filthy they never cleaned the balcony area that was covered in bird crap. The bed linen is clean and fresh but some of the sheets have fag burns in them we don’t need this it doesn't look good. Now the bar upstairs above reception, the bar staff are great but come on who is watering the san Miguel down this is the free beer you get with all inclusive it was rubbish within 2 mins of getting a beer it looked like it had been stood there all day, the cider was fizzy and not too bad but certainly not strongbow like it said on the pump. Go down stairs and in to the brandy well bar were you paying for the drinks the san Miguel was fine anyone else notice this. So I think that says it all regarding the beer. My advice to anyone going there don't book all inclusive probably half board because the food is good value for the money (cheap). Have a wander round the bars for your drinks they are much nicer. The hotels are killing off Costa Teguise bars with this all inclusive what they are doing.

This was our second visit, the first...
8 / 10
Oct 2007, Mr Brian Morgan

This was our second visit, the first was 6 years ago which was a very happy time.
Our first impressions were very much the same as our last visit, but on closer examinations we did notice a few minor flaws. Firstly a face-lift was overdue, nothing really major, just a coat of paint here and there would not go amiss.
The restaurant is at a slight disadvantage being below the complex so the lack of windows gives the area a dark, dismal feel. This was more noticeable this time because on our last visit there was a well dressed host who whilst checking your ticket give each guest a warm welcome in their language.
Waiting staff were also well dressed and friendlier. There was no checking on the tickets, so one presumes that this system was being abused.
Our room was clean with no problems except two a sink basin tap that was either fast or off and no air conditioning.
Overall we really enjoyed the week, a bonus being a free television, which was handy in the evening when you just wanted a quiet night.
If the Tahiche was not so close to the sea, we think they would have to work harder overall to ensure customer satisfaction. That said we really enjoyed ourselves and the Tahiche is still up there as one of our top favourite holidays.
Hopefully we are hoping to get back there before Christmas and a March break next year.

10 of us (6 adults 4 children)...
1 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr R Davies

10 of us (6 adults 4 children) arrived at hotel around 9pm on 30/8/07. Welcome was good with free drinks upon arriving. This was about the only thing that was good about this hotel.
We were allocated 3 rooms next to each other 112,113,114 which were very basic/poor. The whole apartment needed a bit of TLC. The kitchen was really poor nearly all doors were held on with 3inch screws. The bedroom window was bolted down which made it impossible to open (so we thought). At this point I got together with my family and we all agreed to make the best of it (to our mistake).
Woke up the first morning to discover cockroaches in my bathroom and kitchen cupboards. I went to reception to complain and was told that someone be there to spray within the hour. 6 hours later and a 2nd complaint and they arrived. Within this 6 hrs other family members had been to reception as they had cockroaches and ants (in their beds) in their rooms as well.
After speaking to a few people around the pool it was quite a regular site around the hotel rooms. The rooms were then sprayed in which you weren't aloud in your room for an hour. We were then given spray which we used daily. We didn't see anymore cockroaches in the room but other family members did. Even after all this we were still determine to enjoy our holiday and were trying to make light of the situation.
On 4/9/07 all our family attended the western night which was a very good show. When we returned at around midnight I noticed that my balcony door was open with the curtain blowing out (we were on the ground floor). I immediately notified reception that someone had burgled our room to which they reacted as if it happens quite regularly.
I demanded the police were called as reception told me they weren't going to call them till the morning, they were then called. Myself and a few family members went to investigate the room. Upon entering it was quite upsetting to see that they had gain entry through the bedroom window (which I couldn't open as it was bolted) by smashing the glass, this was upsetting as my daughter's cot was by the window and full of glass. The security in the hotel was non existent.
After looking around I realised that only my phone and a pair of trainers had been stolen which were immaterial to what could have happened if we were in at the time.
We all then went to reception to demand something be done to which their reply was to hand us a key for another room 3 doors away from our room. This was not expectable and I demanded to see the travel rep. I spoke to a woman on the phone who was not very helpful, she seemed to find me as an inconvenient and was giving the text book answers. Again I demanded something be done during which time the police arrived done a report and went.
Then after about 10 mins our reps appeared. They could see our situation and were very very good totally different to the one on the phone. After numerous conversations on the phone. myself and all my family moved to a different hotel in a different resort. We had to incur all the costs which doubled the price of the holiday but this was a small price to pay to what could have happened. Also we found out while waiting for the reps to sort it out that there had been 3 other rooms broken into that evening.
Overall I strongly wouldn't recommend this hotel and would never travel with my travel again.

Have just returned from 7 night stay...
8 / 10
Sep 2007, Mrs N Turner

Have just returned from 7 night stay at Puerto Tahiche.
Us and 2 daughters aged 6 and 11 arrived very late in the evening, check in was quick but our apartment was on 3rd floor with no lift. So there we were dragging 4 suitcases up 2 flights of stairs after travelling most of the day. But apartment was very spacious and seemed pretty clean. Everything worked (kettle, toaster etc) saw a cockroach in bathroom once but he didn’t come back.
Loads of supermarkets around - don’t buy chilled goods from the Spar at the rear of the hotel - the milk was off. Loads of places to eat and we had one of the nicest Chinese meals ever from one of the restaurants. Lots of shops but do shop around for perfume, cigs etc as prices vary alot.
Very hot but with the constant breeze you don’t notice it. Beach was amazing, very clean and great waves for the kids to jump in. Didn’t try the pool as the beach was so much fun, 2 loungers and a brolly costs 8 euros per day.
Went on submarine safari – excellent - and to Teguise market with loads of fake designer goods. Went to PDC - costs 2.40 euros each person on the bus and takes about 40 mins, bus very busy though. Rep should work for MI5 - when trying to find when our coach would pick us up to go home anyone would think it was a state secret. Had to go to see her between 10 and 12 on the Tuesday – don’t know why they can’t just put it up on the board like most reps do, very strange! Hotel staff very friendly, lovely resort, would definitely go back again.

Very enjoyable holiday, first time...
7 / 10
Sep 2007, Mrs J Hart

Very enjoyable holiday, first time alone with my two children - one aged 6 and one aged 17.
The children’s entertainers were fantastic and so was the kids clubs, fantastic location, easy to reach. Beach was outside the door, on the other hand it was a little windy but still very, very hot.
The food out there was quite expensive and the Spaniards didn't to appear very friendly especially the receptionists. Rooms were standard designed but frequently cleaned and couldn’t wish for anymore. The maid were also lovely and friendly. Downside to the place not enough for the teenagers but would visit again with my 6 year old.

We stayed at these apartments right...
8 / 10
Jul 2007, Mrs L Pool

We stayed at these apartments right in the centre of the resort for 11 nights.
The two bedroom apartment was huge and cleaned every day (except Tues and Sat) with fresh towels provided. A bit tired looking but spotlessly clean.
Excellent hotel entertainment staff kept everyone going, well done Lizzy, Ruebens, and Kerry. The pools were cleaned every day and adequate sunbeds provided, although the ritual of the sunbed reserving was very apparent. Staff at the hotel were good and very helpful.
The resort was nice although built specifically for the tourist, so no history. Plenty of lovely places to eat, La Portofino, Prado Verde, El Patio, Shang Hai Chinese and a special mention to the Bulldog, hello Alanna, which does the best English brekkie.
The trip to visit the volcanoes is a must, absolutely stunning, and the kids liked the camel rides. Arrecife is also worth a visit, but stay clear of Puerto Del Carmen (Blackpool with sun!).
Beautiful Island with really friendly people.
The downside to the holiday was the constant wind, a breeze I could contend but this was no breeze and was constant.

First time to Lanzarote, the hotel...
9 / 10
Jul 2007, Miss V Bagnall

First time to Lanzarote, the hotel was great, my little boy fell in the swimming pool and the life guard wasn’t around, he is only around half the day.
Went self catering which was expensive, loads of places to eat I think there’s too many. Did half board one day in hotel and you could eat as much as you like it worked out cheaper as half board.
The resort is very windy went to PDC and that was a lot hotter and better. Did a few trips. Volcanoes the submarine, and the catamaran. These trips for a family of 4 work out around £300 just to go on them so they are dear.
We got the local bus to go to PDC. It takes about 40 mins to get there. I wouldn't go back to this island. There’s not enough to do for me.

Really enjoyed the holiday. I went...

Jul 2007, Miss Kl Mcinerney

Really enjoyed the holiday. I went with my partner and my 3 children aged 7, 8, and 3 which they all enjoyed it.
The food was brill, no bad comments about that. And the children’s entertainment was really good 10/10.
Also they have a night were they have the children for the night between 7- 10 for the cost of 1O EUROS, which is good if you want to spend a couple of hours with your partners on your own.
Would definitely go back in the near future.

We have just returned from the Puerto...
8 / 10
May 2007, Miss L Masey

We have just returned from the Puerto Tahiche aparthotel and have had a wonderful time! My partner & I travelled with our 2 1/2 year old son and we can honestly say that this is the place to be for families, particularly with toddlers or school age children.
The apartments themselves are basic and to be honest are in need of a lick of paint but nevertheless, they are clean and fairly comfortable. We were lucky enough to have a sea view which was absolutely amazing! The beach and bay are absolutely beautiful!
The pool area is very clean and well maintained and contrary to some of the previous reviews from last year we found there was more than enough sun beds for everyone and we didn't see any broken ones!
The children’s pool is ideal, the water came up to our son's waist so he could play happily and there is a railing which surrounds the pool to stop the little ones getting into the big pool; we found it very safe and there was plenty of room to position our sunbeds close by so we could watch him. The beach was also one of the cleanest we have ever been to!
The best thing about this aparthotel was the atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For example, our son didn't sleep very well on the sofa bed the 1st night as he is used to a cot at home. I requested a cot and one was put into our room by 10 am the next morning.
The entertainers that are employed by the hotel are brilliant too. Every night there is a children’s mini disco at 830pm. Our boy really loved it. The kid’s entertainers, Kerry, Lisa, and Johan did lots of dances and games with the children. Watching our little one having fun and joining in whilst we relaxed with a drink was the highlight of the holiday!
The kids clubs ran during the day were excellent too (although we couldn't use them as our son isn't old enough), but other parents and children told us how great they were.
There is just so much going on during the day. The adult entertainer, Johan ran lots of games around the pool for the adults too!
The resort is ideal for families. There are lots of places to eat etc. The best place we found was a bar called 'Splash' on the beach front. It was the best place for value for money and the English staff were so friendly.
The food was excellent too. The evening entertainment was cabaret/karaoke and they were more than happy for us to take our son there at night.
All in all I would recommend this aparthotel to any families. The only down side was that we wish we had gone half board/all inclusive as we found self catering very expensive as we didn't want to eat in.
However the hotel offers you the chance to upgrade so if we go back again, we will go HB or AI.

We've just come back from this hotel,...
9 / 10
May 2007, Miss A Williams

We've just come back from this hotel, what an amazing holiday. Was 30 degrees nearly every day except for one which was slightly cloudy but by the afternoon, the sun had burnt through the clouds.
I've been to Lanzarote 3 times now and would go back there every year. There is so much variety out there. For evenings, there are Chinese, Mexican, English, Irish, and Indian restaurants, and bars. Staff are always welcoming and can't do enough for you. Which is a nice change from living in the UK.
The day time, the hotel is literally on the beach, it’s a 2 minute walk and your there, and you can usually see the beach from your balcony. There is also a little lagoon which is around the corner from the beach which everyone loves to snorkel in, the water is crystal clear and is beautiful.
There is good night life but it’s not in your face, I and my friends had to go looking for nightlife but when you find it is very good. The local people were very very friendly and looked after us.
The best place is Alexandra's and then after Alexandra's everyone tends to go to Coyote which is about a mile up the road which is more of a club. Can get very busy but lots of fun.
The brandy well pub which is the downstairs pub in Tahiche apartments is nice for the family; there is lots of entertainment and a good laugh.
Really recommend this place.

Hi everyone. Just came back from a...

Jan 2007, Mr S S Smith

Hi everyone. Just came back from a fantastic holiday, we flew out of England just after New Year for 2 weeks.
Arrived at the hotel everything was marvellous. The room was cleaned every day, staffs was very friendly and location was right on Costa Teguise main beach.
The night life is a bit poor around that date because a lot of old people are out there around that date. I can only say that the weather was beautiful during our fortnight stay, always around 24.
What more can I say...it was our first time but we will definitely be back this year.
One more thing to mention...we were lucky to meat local people that worked at The Fuel Stop, which is Bar restaurant situated on Costa Teguise main beach.
We went there early morning for the best Full English breakfast and also for steaks and pizza at night time......so everyone I hope this was a little help to all of you...enjoy your stay in Costa!

Just got back for Puerto Tahiche -...
8 / 10
Jan 2007, Mrs L Lee

Just got back for Puerto Tahiche - what a holiday!
The hotel itself looks great, clean pool area and reception.
However, the rooms were pretty basic and in need of a bit of a make-over - not that we were in them much!

Watch out for the pool - it was freezing - my husband tried it once and was blue when he came out. My daughter managed it a few more times though.
Went on an all inclusive option and the food was fantastic - plenty of choice for adults but the children's options were a bit limited. The Christmas and New Year meals were out of this world and the staff could not have been better.
Only disappointment was that meal times were restricted and there was no snacks which they usually is for all-inclusive holidays we have been on before.
Drink options were the usual - locally produced stuff was included and you could order as much as you wanted at the bar resulting in some very merry nights!
The entertainment staff worked hard but the night entertainment was a bit boring - usual mini-disco and competition stuff.
Costa Teguise is a lovely area - very clean and the beach is fab! There is a few pubs but not too noisy - we travelled with our daughter so we where not looking too go clubbing!
Went to the Slow Boat restaurant which was lovely and tried a night at the Lively Lady which was great - very entertaining - a bit over the top but even our 11 year old enjoyed it.
We also had my father with us who is disabled - the sea front itself is hard to negotiate with a wheel chair and some parts are just not accessible - we would not have managed if we where not strong enough to push the wheelchair up some pretty steep banks.
Watch out for a "nice" lady on the corner of the street outside the hotel- she conned us into spending two hours listening to a bloke go on about some holiday club rubbish, which sounds very much like a time share. We are usually pretty good at avoiding this type of thing! Don't be conned into this - its sounds very dodgy and when we turned it down they got very nasty.

Overall a great holiday and will definitely go back here.
