Romance Hotel

Romance Hotel is great value for money. we paid £32 per night for a double and stayed for 5 nights. It is well situated near all the big tourist sites and the tram and ferry ports are also right near by. There are many restaurants around and also convenience stores to get water etc. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is very clean. The breakfast has a large variety of food both western and Turkish and is all fresh. The rooms are clean with everything you need including hair dryer and cable TV safe etc.. But they are small. I booked our stay at the Romance Hotel after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel is definately a great value - about 55 euro a night which includes a terrific breakfast. The location is great as well, and there is a nice, reasonably priced restaurant/bar in the hotel. However, the rooms are TINY, and not as pictured on venere.com, where we booked the room. The hotel is located on the corner and when I left there was scaffolding on the front of the hotel. It is located near all the major sight seeing attractions. I was able to walk to most of them. There are restaurants all around the hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly. The lobby and bar are very comfortable. The restaurant is intimate and attractive. We stayed in Romance hotel for 6 days in October 2006, and found the place very nice, clean and friendly. We consulted Tripadvisor reviews first and then booked the hotel directly from it's website, as other travel agents could not meet our requirements with booking 2 double rooms next to each other. A pleasant hotel in a good location for seeing the famous sights of Istanbul. You can walk easily to Topaki Palace, Blue Mosque etc. Helpful desk staff with good spoken english. Buffet breakfast was varied and fresh. Evening meals inexpensive, well presented turkish food. Freindly cheeful waiters. Lots of good restaurants in easy walking distance. Room a bit small. My wife and I stayed at the Romance Hotel for 8 days in September 2006. The number one feature of this hotel is the staff and I mean everyone of them. Nothing was too hard, they were courteous and prompt when you needed something. The Front desk chief, Cenan is a delightful and helpful person with excellent English (most of the staff speak English) and a ready smile. Stayed at this hotel between 13th and 19th September with my wife, baby daughter, parents, brother and sister in law. This is a truly great hotel located in a very good location. The Haigha Sophia is a 5 mins walk, and the spice bazaar is about 10mins as is the Grand Bazaar. But this is a great location to stay at, central to all the historical sites. I have just returned from my trip to Greece , Turkey and Dubai. I must say the service we received at the Hotel Romance in Istanbul was excellent. The staff were efficient and extremely helpful- all the way from the waiters right through to the reception desk. They helped us with booking tours, sightseeing around the place, recommending good eating places and also shows. The Romance Hotel has a superb location just along from the Gulhane tram stop in Sultanahmet. It is within easy walking distance of the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya and convenient for a trip over the Galata Bridge. Our room was clean and was equipped with ensuite bathroom, fridge and a large balcony. Our TV had turkish channels as well as CNN and BBC World. Stayed at the Romance Hotel while on a Fez tour. I was really impressed. The location is fantastic and safe, the service was first class and they have happy hour at the bar!
