Fabulous little hotel
We very much enjoyed our stay at Naz Wooden House Inn - it's a delightful small hotel with only 6 or 7 rooms and we were pleased with our decision to stay there. Yes, the rooms are quite small, but ours was big enough for the two of us. We had one of the front rooms, overlooking the street - it had a comfortable bed, and very clean bathroom - what more did we need?! The staff that we met were all very friendly and pleasant, and the buffet breakfast served in the rooftop terrace was excellent. There is no elevator, so suitcases... more
Booked at Naz and Sent to Sister Hotel Deniz Konak
We were booked to stay at the Naz Wooden House hotel for two nights in late April... however, when we arrived around 6 pm, they told us that because of a water shortage in the city that we would be "upgraded" to their sister hotel, the Deniz Konak since it had reserve water tanks and the Naz Wooden House did not. We waited in the lobby of the Naz Wooden House for nearly a half hour for the receptionist to sort out a room for us at the DK and arrange a taxi to take us the three blocks down the road (we didn't realize it was so close or we... more
poor service and unfriendly staff
Unfortuntately our experience at this hotel was not as positive as other people. I do not wish to sound negative however........ when we first arrived we were taken to our room, a double with a small terrace with fantastic views. We were in the room for just one hour when the VERY rude receptionist came up and told us he'd put us in the wrong room and that other guests were waiting to move in!!!. He then proceded to start taking out all of our clothes, from the wardrobe and told us to hurry up!. We were then put in a TINY room with a small... more
Great Place!
We spent almost two weeks at this great little inn. The rooms were small but very comfortable and clean. They also had a great breakfast inlcuded. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I would definately recommend this inn!
Great breakfast!
We've just come back from 3 days in Istanbul, staying at the charming little Naz Wooden House. It only has 7 rooms and is rather tucked away, so it's a bit difficult to find. We found it very comfortable, although we did move rooms after the first night as the train line runs immediately behind the hotel. Our original room was fairly spacious, and the one we moved to less so, but it was fine. I note in another review someone mentions the poor breakfast, so we were very surprised to find a real spread awaiting us - big bowls of yoghourt,... more
Value for the money
Just stayed at this hotel for a long weekend 11-14 November paying 55 Euros per night inclusive. It is in an ideal location to walk around the main sites in the old city. The staff are very accomodating and the rooms are pleasant although quite small --- perfect for one, cramped for two. I had a street facing room and was thankful I wasn't on a busy street as it was noisy but nothing outrageous. The breakfast however was meager at best. Nescafe and Tang plus some bread and jams. Apart from that, there wasn't much on... more
Turkish Delighful!
A manic drive through the unfeasibly narrow cobbled streets lined with dilapidated wooden buildings made us a little apprehensive, but all our fears disappeared on entering the calm and fragrant Naz Wooden House Inn. The reception staff are friendly and very helpful (though maybe a little too eager to earn their commission from local restaurants and tourist haunts...) The room was a little cramped for a double but exceptionally clean and perfectly fine for a short stay. We had beautiful weather and so ate our breakfast on the roof... more
Loved the Naz...
We loved this small hotel which deserves five stars for the views from it's roof terrace alone - Blue Mosque at the rear, Marmaris sea to the front. Based in best area of Istanbul, Sultanahmet - many historic sites within easy walking distance. Must see Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace (don't miss harem), paying to go inside Aya Sofya is only for the purists in our view so skip if time is limited. The location of the Naz gives the traveller a feeling of living rather than staying in Istanbul which we really liked. The locals were friendly (if... more
Pleasant hotel excellently located
Naz Wooden House Inn has just 7 rooms. It's in a lovely old 19th C wooden house - but with rather older walls inside - apparently from the Byzantine Palace and possibly dating back to 8th C. We had two rooms - mine was a smallish one with double bed- fine as a single - cramped if used as a double - with view of Blue Mosque. My friends had a room with the old walls - but their side had the train line - not overly intrusive - but it did cause tiny bits of plaster to flake off on occasion when trains passed. Their room also suffered from a... more
Nice small hotel
We stayed there for 1 week in July 2003. The hotel is located in Sultanahmet near to the Blue Mosque in a quiet small street. Our room was small but nice and very clean! You can have breakfast on a nice terrace in summer which was very nice. I would go there again!
