Hotel Helios Benidorm

tried the helios for a change usaully stay at the pueblo over the road well lets see room was good and spacious walkin shower maid service exellent staff where great indoor pool a bit smelly close to all the entertainment which we knew now the food I managed just to keep getting something for me but jean my wife poor soul lived on fruit and a tub of ice cream got that bad we went out to get something went to th penny farthing behind us for a meal that was a microwave meal go back to benidorm again we love it but it will be back to the pueblo my advice if you go there go for room only and look around for some food we should have gone to the yorkshire pride food there is normally good hope this help but you can only learn by your own experence.

Just got back from a four day break for my wifes 40th birthday. we had a fantastic time,great hotel excellent location near all the night life,very clean and tidy hotel. The food was very good and the staff was very friendly..will be booking to go back same time next year cant wait!

stayed for 7 nights last week in august. the hotel was clean and the staff were curtius and helpful. it was about 70% spanish though this was fine with me. the food was typical 3*,usualy somthing you can eat. location was great, close to beach and all the nightlife.now the downside, we arrived at 10:30 baving been up since 2:30am. we did not get the keys untill 2:30. the main problem with this hotel was the size of the pool area. too small for the hotel. you had to have your towels on the beds by 8am or you didnt get a parasol. all beds were gone by 8:30. on the day we did get one we were subject to loud music all day. mainly spanish with a bit of tom jones and englebert. the evening entertainment was geared for the spanish, though we went out every night anyway. all in all this hotel is not bad but i would not go back there.

6 of us stayed at hotel all adults. we all enjoyed our holiday. hotel is spacious, clean and central to shops, bars,all entertainment, markets, food great most of the time. the only downsides were, the pool area is too small to accomodate all the people, a free shuttle bus to the beach would be beneficial for families and older people who cannot get a sunbed at the pool and we were disappointed after buying jewellery in the hotel reception for 5 euros per item it was easily available in the street for up to half the price and some of the items fell apart the first day we arrived back in belfast. we would go back here again.

We went to the Helios for Christmas 08 for 1 week (full board)(hubby and I)and had a great stay so much so I have just been today and booked up for Christmas this year again.The hotel was really well situated for everything our room was spotless the food was lovely if a little repetitive.I am a fussy eater but could always find plenty to suit me.I hope our stay is as nice as last year.One tiny complaint was although the hotel laid on a fantastic Christmas day meal we entered the dining room and had to leave without our meal as the dining room was so hot.We ended up with a cafe meal so disapointing on Christmas day.Cant recommend the hotel highly enough its lovely staff cant do enough for you.Roll on Christmas.

10 of us went to hotel helios, 4 adults, 4 children, we all enjoyed it!!
The hotel overall was clean and welcoming
Staff were helpful
The meals were nice but started to get boring around the second week.
The entertainment was a spanish DJ and flamenco dancers. Every night a drunk old spanish man tried to dance along with the flamenco dancers but the DJ shouted at him and he sat down haha.
The pool was clean and big, and had a baby pool in the shade too.
The lifeguard was so GRUMPY! he would shout at children wearing t shirts in the pool but many parents would shout back at the lifeguard so and ignored him. he was rather fat so probably wouldn't of been able to save anyone anyway.
The other people staying at the hotel were lovely, we made some great friends.
The bar stayed open till about 1am, sometimes later depending on how busy it was.
We went to a local karaoke bar called 'Rainbow' but my friend had her bag stolen but luckily her husband managed to grab it off the robber. but beware of the pick poketers!!
i enjoyed my stay at the Helios hotel and would reccommend it!

We have just returned from a weeks full board at the Helios hotel in Benidorm.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was great, large selection every day and very well cooked, there was always fresh fruit available and a good selection of main meals ans well as desserts. The heated pool was lovely and there were plenty of sun loungers available. I would definitely return to the Helios.

i was on holiday in benidorm and stayed at the helios hotel. well what a let down that was. i was first put in a room next to fire exit on 2nd floor. there were workmen making so much noise i could'n't hear myself think, they left the fire door open. i went to recption and asked for another room, got room 334. what can one say about that. mould in the bathroom, sheets didn;t get changed once in 4 days. went down to brekki and got treated like i was going to rob the place. i was told i had to wait to be seated. i stood there like a spare part for 5 mins then got taken to a table. next morning i went to my table number 7 and was shouted at because i didn't wait to be seated.all the spanish and dutch were allowed to do as they please. went outside to sit by pool and it was all taped off, they were doing repairs round the pool. no sorry or anything. the LIFE GUARD fell asleep and fell off his chair. don't think i'll be going back there

Worst holiday ever!
First Choice did not have my tickets at LGW- i queued and waited for them to sort it-they wrote tickets by hand at the last moment.
HELIOS:
The food was the worse ive ever had in my life, nothing was edible! We were told when to eat (8a.m.) no snacks or vending facilities.
Reduced to trying salad, i found an enormous moth soaked in oil as i started my meal. The next morning i found ants crawling all over the cereals and breakfasts.. Pig swill would best describe what was on offer. The hotel pool area was heavily littered, showing the lack of any standards either by staff or guests (mostly over 60's). No one dressed for dinner some never even put their teeth in to eat. Broken sun loungers were all taken by 7.30 am. Benidorm consists of stag/hen booze ups and old farts waiting to be mugged. Touts hassle you everywhere. I saw a skilled team of eight pickpockets working while one guy does the three cups and pea routine. Also two guys with cute monkeys take your photo while pickpockets work. Some shows advertised never happen, you just get to spend your money in that bar. I could go on-youve been warned!

My family and I have just returned from 11 days at the Helios, and we all loved it. after reading other reviews we were dreading the food, expecting to eat out all the time, well we didnt eat out once, the food was lovely, always plenty to choose from, i dont know what some people expect!!! We will definitely be going back. The hotel is spotless, very friendly and really close to the beach.
