Quinta Da Bela Vista

We arrived after midnight, and there was a lovely guy waiting for us and checked us in to our room, we would have liked to have gone to the bar but it closes at 11pm so we ordered room service, which is 24 hour anyway. The bedroom was ok, reasonably furnished and clean. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and self service so you could have as much as you wanted. The staff are really attentive, in every area within the hotel.
The guy by the pool brought towels over to the beds, of which there were plenty, as soon as he saw you. The whole gardens of the hotel are glorious and the setting is wonderful. The a la carte restaurant is in a separate building, and we dined al fresco by candlelight on a few occasions, so romantic and the food is fantastic! If you want a quiet stay, with good food, then this is the place for you. We enjoyed it, but on reflection would give it a 4* as opposed to the 5* it is, and that would be mainly because of our room.
We would have liked a fridge, even if we had to pay the huge prices they usually charge in these places! A TV that you could actually see from the bed, maybe wall mounted, a double bed that is a double not two beds pushed together so one of you is always falling down the middle! I also expected a balcony but you have to pay extra for that, and I didn’t order it so that’s fair enough.
