My boyfriend (23) and I (23) arrived at Los Fiscos on the 25th of June to a lovely, clean hotel with very friendly Spanish staff.
Our room over looked the pool and it was ideal. All inclusive is definitely the way to go, the drinks alone were worth the price, and they included everything from beer to all the spirits you can think of and cocktails.
The bar opens from 11am to 11pm give or take with the Spanish time frame! Lol. All the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and have very good English and the bar man Pepe aka Manuel just likes if you make a little effort with your Spanish, and don't patronise him (he’s been working there for like 30 years!)
Over all no complaints whatsoever about Los Fiscos and get to know Lenni aka Dutch he’s the entertainer and while good craic!
The only tiny problem was the location, it’s a little far out of town, but there's a free bus service runs a few times a day. So how can you be too annoyed?
Thanks for a great holiday Los Fiscos, see you again soon!

I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.
I was not satisfied with our room on arrival as it smelt disgusting, the bathroom looked like it hadn't seen any cleaning materials in a long time, so complained straight away to reception, given that it was after midnight when we arrived I was asked to wait till tomorrow for a change of room.
Was given change of room next morning only to discover an electrical problem, informed reception who asked my husband to flick the trip switch, which he did and still there was a fault. My husband was asked by reception to do further fault finding himself which he refused and we were given our third room in 10 hours.
The bar staff were very unpleasant - don't think I saw a smile from them whole the week we were there. The Hotel is quite far out and uphill from the main drag of the old town and as the bar and 'entertainment' finished at 11pm, we had to go further afield for a night out. Which obviously cost money, wouldn't recommend all-inclusive.
The food had no labelling so you never knew what you were eating! Just glad we don't suffer from any serious allergies. You were served your beer/spirits in plastic 220ml containers.
Lanzarote is so windy I couldn't believe it - couldn't wear a hat as it was frequently blown off! Watch out for the timeshare touts who pull up to you in a car and ask if your British!
We went to the Highlander Bar in the Montana Tropical commercial Centre. Downhill to the right from Hotel. 4euros for Bacardi and coke - REAL Bacardi - and very large measures. 1 Euro 50 for bottle of Millar. Ate at La Bamba - on the corner of the street beside hotel. It was reasonably priced, decent food and service with a smile!!
On the day of our departure we checked the time we were being picked up for our transfer to airport - 7.50pm. Waited until 8.15pm and still no bus to take us to the airport. Contacted rep who said it was the wrong time printed and we had missed the bus which was apparently at our hotel at 7.05pm (printing error). We were told to get a taxi there and the fare would be reimbursed, which it was. Good job we still had some money left!!
The only plus side to the apartment was that although we were all inclusive, it was fully equipped with fridge/cooker etc. Handy for your bottles of water!

When we arrived at the accommodation we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the self catering apartment we were placed in, although we were half board.
The reception staff were very pleasant and the apartments were kept relatively clean.
Right, that was the good bit.
The bar staff consisted of one extremely miserable Spaniard who did not like anyone. I think he was there to frighten off all those on all inclusive from drinking too much.
The restaurant was just awful! Peas and green beans for breakfast, I mean come on!
It was above 80 degrees all week and the air conditioning was never on. What’s more the miserable bar staff also helped in here also.
The food all week was awful, in fact guests on all types of board ate out, including those on all inclusive. I just would not want to try and describe the food to explain just how bad it was.
All week it was like this until the very last day (this happened to be the day a large group of Spaniards booked into the hotel), not that I am suspicious or anything!!
Let’s get on to the entertainment - how do I describe this? Basically non-existent (poor kids). The entertainment staff was a Dutchman who spent all week chasing anything in a skirt. There was the odd quiz that lasted around 20 minutes and one game of bingo.
Fairs fair though, one night they had a singer (well I think those noises squealing from his vocal chords were meant to be songs).
Puerto del Carmen was ok and the taxis were excellent. This hotel was at the top of a hill and not very good for most relatively fit never mind those with any physical problems.
To sum up...change the bar staff and put on some decent entertainment. Make the food the same as the last day we spent here; turn on the air conditioning, clean the pool now and again and we may consider staying within 30km of the place sometime in the future.

On arrival the hotel entrance and reception seemed fine. We were greeted by a Spanish male prat who made out that he didn’t speak any English when in actual fact he spoke better English than most English people!
He gave us the worst room possible on the ground floor with a wall for a view. The room was next to the sewers, very small, basic and dingy with no sunlight. We asked to move to another room and the receptionist was very rude and abusive and wasn't willing to help. 15 minutes later he turned up at our room and eventually moved us to the 1st floor. It was just as bad but at least we had a view and balcony.
We were all inclusive so had our evening meal in the buffet restaurant, There was hardly any choice and the food was bland. The English and Spanish visitors were separated and the restaurant itself was very untidy with dirty plates and cups just left on the tables.
There was no evening entertainment and everything was just shabby. Don’t even think about staying here, it was the worst place I’ve ever stayed...
Luckily the next day at our welcome meeting we were greeted by a lovely rep called Sue who was very helpful and gave us the choice of moving hotels. We agreed to move to the playa Pocillos which was absolutely magnificent and it gave us the best holiday we have ever experienced.
Holidays from hell should be filmed here for its next series

This apart/ hotel, offers great food in good settings. The only problem is the restaurant manager who is a total jobs- worth unless you are Spanish. His staff are very good although their English is limited. The rooms are basic and are 'cleaned' 5 days a week.
The complex is spread over two levels and is freshly decorated, some residents were unhappy that their room was too far from the reception and some who stayed on the ground floor felt unable to sleep with their windows open due to being close to the pavement some had a wall as their view. There is no air con in the rooms, although all rooms have a ceiling fan, you can hire a portable fan from reception. You rely on the famous Canarian breeze to keep you cool during the night. No mozzies to bother you just the occasional cockroach. The Los Fiscos is on the outskirts the resort at the top of a busy hill. A taxi will bring you back from the beach for 2-3 Euro.
The reception staff are friendly with good English but don’t seem to want to tell you about amenities available at the hotel, although there is a folder in reception giving you dated and limited information about amenities, Maria the bar maid should be made entertainments officer, she is the life & soul of the bar area. Don’t expect a late night the bar closes at 11pm probably to keep the neighbours happy, the entertainment lasts about 30- 40 mins, then its taped music, all of this is controlled by the jobs worth guy, what he says goes!
The hotel is not really suitable for teenagers. Sunbathing can be dodgy there is plenty of space around the pool and on the terraces but there are only about 12 parasols around the pool and none on the terraces and it does get hot even with the strong breeze.

We decided to use a taxi transfer from Arreceife airport to our apartment which cost 13 euros (one way) and took about 10 minutes maximum.
On arrival at Los Fiscos we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who provided us with all the necessary information about meal times, safety deposits boxes, the free bus service to the beach, pool opening / closing times and pool bar times.
We were very pleased with the apartment that was offered to us (room number 248). We over looked the pool area and had a fantastic view of the volcanoes in Timanfaya National Park.
The large, spacious apartment had full self catering facilities (which was a bonus as we were half board), with a separate sitting and bedroom area. The bathroom and bedroom were also very clean and well presented. A TV and safety deposit box was located in the apartment. For a 10 euro refundable deposit you could access the TV remote control and a 10 euro deposit gave you the key for the deposit box for the week.
Unfortunately no air conditioning was available in the apartment; however the fan in the main room helped keep us cool. (The temperature in Lanzarote did drop at night time)
A 10 minute walk took us to the harbor and the old town of Puerto Del Carmen old town which has a great variety of restaurants, bars and shops. (We really liked the El Angler restaurant for the pizzas and tapas and the Heineken harbor bar for drinks).
A 25 minute walk from the Los Fiscos apartments took us to the new town and the beach (playa grande). The new / main area of Puerto del Carmen has plenty of bars, café’s, nightclubs and shopping areas, Biosfera – a large open air shopping / restaurant centre being one of them.
We both thought that the food available at the Los Fiscos buffet styled breakfast and tea / dinner times was great. Every day a good choice of food was on offer and was always accompanied by fresh salads and fresh fruit. The meal times were also flexible; Breakfast: 7:30 – 10am and tea: 6:30 – 9:30pm.
The pool was deep (no good for young children or non / beginner swimmers) however we thought it was great as it was fairly big and was a good pool to swim in! Especially after a couple of hours in the sun.
We didn’t get to see any of the entertainment that the Los Fiscos had organized but there was a different act on every night in the pool bar area. ( a large beer in the pool bar was 3 euros).
The bus stop for the surrounding reports of Lanzarote was only a five minute walk from the apartments and ran on a regular basis. Bus times could be picked up from the main tourist information (next to the main beach) or the bus stop shelters.
In the harbor area of the old town you can book excursions to Fuerteventura (make sure your alarm clock works not like ours!!), Papagayo beach, Dolphin searching plus others. You can also catch a glimpse of the huge mantra rays (3 of them) that visit the harbor area regularly to eat the scraps from the local fisherman. (I thought I was seeing things at first but no they were really there!)
Fishing at the harbor is great as there are lots of different fish to try and catch (no not the ray) and you can set yourself a challenge of catching a 2-3 pound mullet!
The diving centre beach (next to the main one) is also great for fishing and snorkeling.
A trip to Timanfaya National park is definitely well worth a visit. We went on a coach excursion for 38 euros each (as were not right confident at driving abroad) and saw the salt pans, Timanfaya geothermal experiments, went on a camel ride and saw the vineyards which looked a piece of Cesar Manrique’s art work! The lava fields of Timanfaya were unbelievable and the views and colours of the volcanoes were fantastic! We even managed to make it back in time for England’s second world cup game - yeah!
We would have like to have gone to Fuerteventura for the day on one of the boats / ferries but didn’t get up in time so made do with a boat trip to Papagayo beach (25 euros each). Unfortunately once we got there the weather was cloudy so we sailed to Playa Blanca and had a few hours there. (Fortunately the sun came out so we headed for the fantastic beach there!
On our return boat journey we stopped and searched for dolphins that certainly didn’t disappoint. This was one of the highlights of the holiday as 16 dolphins appeared next to the boat and swam with us – they were absolutely fantastic!
Overall we had a great time in Lanzarote and would definitely return to the island. We would also recommend the Los Fiscos as a place to stay for friends and families and would come back again. (There are plenty of steps around the apartment complex so it would be unsuitable for young children in pushchairs and wheelchair users).
Los Fiscos is also situated on a hill but you can choose which way to tackle it – the easiest way is head to the bus stop and down towards the old town so you can pass the Purple Turtle. (A great way to come back up as you can head in to all the bars!). The more difficult route isn’t that bad but can take a while to get back up. (Especially if you’ve had a few or have been sunning yourself on the beach all day!)

Exceptionally well kept complex with clean and tidy apartments which were well cleaned.
All the staff, with slight exception at breakfast time were extremely helpful and courteous, and very nice to children.
Rating - 2 because of steps in complex which made it hard to access with Childs buggy to pool area and the location of the apartments, which were however well serviced with taxi’s

The facilities were poor, the food was poor always cold and very basic, where it was situated was really annoying because it was at the very top of a hill probably the furthest away you'll get from the harbour.
The rooms were very basic and they were very hot.
And the enamel was coming off of the bath and it was all brown.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
I just wish I wasn’t there.

Very Clean and Comfortable. Would recommend for small families and couples. Reasonable good facilities and a pleasant atmosphere. Approx ten min walk from main resort, beach and bars, yet just a two min walk from nearest bars and supermarket. The rooms are cleaned regularly, plus we didn’t spot one cockroach while there. Overall this resort is well kitted out and pleasant, I would certainty return.

Over all a holiday is what you make it. However it would have been much better had the guy behind the bar managed to be a bit pleasant, he resented you having a drink even though it was all inclusive therefore we had already paid for it, he would grunt at you at was just the rudest person I have ever met in my life!
The room was clean, nice view, food okay sometimes if you went in on the right days! You should try it you could always entertain yourself by throwing tomatoes at the miserable fool behind the bar!
