Great location, ok hotel
The hotel is very central and ok on price. If I were to go back, I might look around unless they can do a little refurbishing on things like the rugs which have not been replaced in what looks like years. They are stained and gross to look at. However, I think the central location might out weigh that issue. I didn´t have any problem with the bath or bathroom, it was actually ok. I had a balcony with great views of 2 of the major squares in Lisbon and I will post the pics when I get back to the states. I think the price is reasonable but... more
Hotel Internacional is a fine budget-priced place
We just spent three nights here, and as others have said, the rooms are fairly basic. But the location is fabulous, and even though the hotel overlooks the central square, the Rossio, there was very little street noise because of double-glazed windows and a sliding glass door to the balcony. We paid 75 euros for a double, and it was a good value. The buffet breakfast was more than ample. There is no real lobby to speak of, but on the second floor is a nice lounge.
Ideal Hotel
We paid 80 Euros per night for a double room, including breakfast, and stayed for three nights. We thought the price was appropriate for the standard of accommodation, that is, perfectly reasonable. The location must be the best in Lisbon old town centre and the building itself has local character. Most of the newer hotels in Lisbon just look like concrete and glass boxes. I must agree with the other reviewer that the orange juice was awful (coloured water) but then again, at that price, it doesn't really matter! Most of the... more
It was ok for the money I paid
Let's face it, if you pay 50 euro for a single room in the most central square of the city, you can not expect great luxury, can you? And indeed, the hotel is not luxurious, but rooms are certainly clean, staff was in my eyes ok and the breakfast that was included in the price was fine as well. (except the terrible orange juice) The problem was that I was there in February, it was about 10°C outside, but the heating in the rooms wasn't working, so it was really very cold inside. But since I was only there to sleep, I could live... more
Great Location, Beautifull building
I stayed in the Hotel Internacional from the 12th to the 20th of December last year, and I was pleased with my stay. The Hotel was not fancy, and you can tell it is old (adding to its character?), but the building and specially it's location is amazing. Ask for rooms overlooking the Rua Augosta Street. You have great views of the square, of the street, which is pedestrianised, so it's cool to see people just going about their daily business, and you can also catch a glimpse of the river. I enjoyed my stay, thought the price was... more
horribe!!!
Do not stay in this hotel!!! Management is rude, place is dirty, and they charged me twice as much as promised.
Great value for the price
We stayed at the Internacional for one night in early September. It was a great budget hotel in a super location in the Barrio Baixa, near everything. When we arrived, before eleven, we could not check in, but the bags were stored for us, and we returned later. The room was basic, but adequate. We knew we were not going to be in it much, so why pay for all the frills. It overlooked a side street with restaurants, and was a bit musty till we let in the fresh air. It's older but comfy, and yes the beds are a bit hard, most european hotels... more
Great Location, OK Hotel
I stayed at the Internacional for five nights in early August. It was a perfectly adequate budget hotel in a great location in the Barrio Baixa, near two large plazas, one of them Rossio Square, and public transportation (bus, tram, subway, and railroad). It is near everything. As someone else here mentioned, however, the beds are brutally hard and the bathroom leaves alot to be desired, with periodic, though minor, leaks, but it always worked. There was a TV in the room, with a number of international channels including CNN in English,... more
disappointment
This hotel's main advertisting point is its central location, but there are many good more reasonablely priced hotels nearby. The management cannot handle the load of clients and did not provide enough food for all the guests to eat breakfast. We arrived at noon and the room was not ready, when we returned at 6 pm, the room was still not ready. We were told that there was a plumbing problem and the maids were cleaning the room. One hour later we went to the room to find the carpets wet and the toliet loose and almost falling... more
Good Location, Good Price
Good location, relatively inexpensive. Great views from the balcony. Beds were a little on the hard side, but after walking throughout the city, with all the hills, a warm welcome. Breakfast could stay open a little later-we never were awake early enough.
