Comfort Principe Hotel

We have recently spent 5 nights at this hotel and it is an excellent hotel, spotlessly clean and with very friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was more than adequate, served in a very pleasant dining room. The hotel also had a nice little bar with a barman who was more than happy to have a chat and provide help and advice. Despite the reviews of ongoing construction within the vicinity of this hotel, I booked a quad because of the price and proximity to public transport. I was not disappointed. Upon arrival (several hours before check-in) my group was fortunate to have been able to settle into the room. Thanks to reading reviews written by others, I decided to book this hotel during my Lisbon stay. I was nervous due to the low price (55 Euros a night) but was relieved when I got here. It is a GREAT deal! My only complaints are that they have no iron to use (you have to pay 1 euro to get a garment ironed) and the wifi access is 5 euros an hour. It's difficult to get here due to construction, but well worth the walk. We found this hotel by looking at Trip Advisor, and booked it as it had a number of good reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very polite and helpful. It's about 5 minutes walk from a large Shopping Mall (El Corte Ingles) and the same distance from the nearest Metro station (Sao Sebastiao). I spent a weekend from 9th to 12th of february, with my girlfrend. Lisbon is a wonderful city, we loved it. The hotel is very clean, staff was kind, the price was cheap and breakfast satisfaying. Now the bad things.. In front to the hotel they are working to the new line of the subway, as you see from one of my pictures, and when we come out from the elevator we found the floor as you can see from the other pictures. Anyway, we recommend the hotel despite these drawbacks.

We've been in Comfort Hotel Principe over the Xmas and New Year holidays. Our expirience is realy great and we are more that satisfied. Excelent value for money, cleanllines, proffesional staff and good location. Very near to the Metro station (5 station to the heart of the city - Baixa Chiado) and the best shopping center (El Corte Ingles). Good hotel, nice rooms, friendly staff. One of the two elevators was quite noisy and located next to our room (8th floor - top level). This was not very pleasant at night, but it was not that bad that we couldn't sleep.

My husband and I stayed at the Comfort Principe for a weekend recently. It was four-star at a three-star price. The service was excellent. We were shown an option of two rooms when we checked in and were given lots of helpful advice on how to get around the city. It's obviously been renovated very recently and the cleanliness and comfort is outstanding. The location isn't perfect but close to a Metro station - but Lisbon is quick and easy to get around anyway. I definitely recommend this hotel to those wanting great value for money.

I have always said that the reviews must be proportionate to how many stars the hotel has and how much you pay - if you pay € 40 per night you cannot expect the Ritz, and because you dont find the Ritz you cant give 2 stars to the hotel. This hotel has been the best combination of price and quality I have experienced for a long time. We stayed here for two nights upon arriving in Lisbon. The location was great--easy walk to the Museu Calouste Gulbenkian and its beautiful grounds, close to the Corte Ingles mega-store (São Sebastião Metro stop is accessible through the lower level of the store). The staff was friendly and helpful, even with my weak Portuguese. The room was small, but clean and modern. It's rather generic, nothing special, but certainly adequate. I would stay there again because of the good location and pleasant staff.
