We have just returned from two weeks...
1 / 10
Jul 2007, P Matthews

We have just returned from two weeks at the Eurocalas and we certainly won't be returning.
The pools were ok, although there were not enough sun beds to go around. The entertainment was very repetitive, and it got really annoying that everything had to be delivered in German, Spanish and then English as an after thought.

We were particularly disturbed by the condition of the toilets. They were absolutely disgusting and often there were no toilet rolls in the cubicles. Others have commented that wasps and ants were a problem, I would completely agree.
The worst thing though has to be the food. I can relate to the others who said that they felt physically sick on entering the restaurant. Essentially there was no choice, and the quality was awful. Pigs trotters and hacked up pieces of lamb complete with bone fragments were the meat choices on a good night. There was too much of an emphasis on fish, with cuttlefish being on the menu every night. I take my hat of to the catering team for achieving such a bland taste, everything was tasteless, and to achieve this on a consistent basis takes some doing! The food seemed to be very much geared to German diets.
Basically I could go on and on, how this hotel is classified as 3 star beggars belief. Moreover those who have awarded this 8 out of 10 are either having a laugh or have incredibly low expectations.

Well, I think it is time people got...

Jul 2007, Mr Phil Tinkler

Well, I think it is time people got real! I booked a last minute deal and was offered this hotel for a very good price. When we returned home from the travel agents I read the reviews and we were very unhappy that the reviews were not good and we had just paid in full!
On arrival we were greeted by reception staff and they were friendly and helpful even though it was 6am! We were shown to our room by the hotel security guy. After a quick nap and a bit of unpacking, well the wife unpacked and I watched, we went down to the pool and started to look for a sunbed! No joy, apart from a broken one as all beds are snapped up by 8am and even some people are putting towels down before going to bed! So be prepared to join them as you can't beat them (would of liked to though!).
The accommodation was basic in our room, however we were invited up to our friends room to use their shower on our last day and their room was fantastic as they had just been refurbished.
The food in our opinion was good as there was always plenty to choose from and if you just want burgers and junk then go and use the snack bar during the day, perfectly located next to the main swimming pool so not far for kids to just go and help themselves and of course get us lazy parents something as well!
There is a small local area a short walk away that has crazy golf and a mini funfair for the kids. The entertainments team do try and keep the adults and kids busy through the day with different activities and mini disco near the pool for kids to dance to. I believe you make a holiday memorable by what you put in to it, and of course if you want five star facilities and treatment then you will have to pay for it. Remember this is cheap yet very cheerful and we would return if we were offered another good deal!

Just back from a week at the Club...
9 / 10
Jul 2007, Mr R Mcphail

Just back from a week at the Club Eurocalas (all inclusive). I travelled with my wife and two kids aged 8 and 4.
We arrived at the hotel around 10.45pm and were shown to the restaurant by the security guard where we were given some food and drink.
The complex itself is fairly large with plenty going on especially for the kids. The apartment was clean and very spacious with a great view of the whole complex and surrounding East Coast!
The restaurant was kept very clean with plenty of choice for everyone (a bit busy at times though). Bar staff were great, serving up to 3-4 people at the same time - they never stopped all night. Drinks were served in plastic cups (which I didn't find a problem). Better that broken glass everywhere! I never waited any longer than two minutes to get a drink (there is a tip bucket!). The evening entertainment was ok. We never felt that we had to leave the complex for entertainment elsewhere.
The swimming pool areas were kept clean, but sometimes a struggle to get a bed, especially if the Germans had been out at 1am with the towels!! Snack bar at pool was ok, plenty of choice, beer, water and juice on tap. Plenty of activities on during the day (tennis, archery, water polo etc).
To sum it up, staff were great, plenty going on for the kids, met loads of great people and had a great family holiday - We will go back again!!!!

Jul 2007, Miss H Rennie

Me and my partner went with our 3 year old daughter and had a brilliant holiday, it was so relaxing the food we in particular.
Enjoyed a wide variety there wasn't much we didn't like about the comlpex, there were 3 pools waiters were friendly, reps were great mini disco and night time entertainment was good, beaches are lovely and so is the place itself.
Would go back there in a couple of years as it seems it was up and coming and would be more touristy in a few years. Great holiday went to pirates and marine land. Both were good. Great break, so relaxing.

Very Enjoyable week. Rooms -...

Jul 2007, Mr JN Heath

Very Enjoyable week.
Rooms - Immaculate, cleaned everyday.
Pools - very good, nice pools get a bit dirty as day goes on though with all the cups, plates etc. Kicking around.
Snack bar- ok if you like that sort of rubbish.
Restaurant - very good, food excellent.
Entertainment - rubbish in the evening, good for kids in the daytime though.
Bar staff - brilliant and booze plentiful and nice.
Sports - football, water polo, archery, shooting, aerobics etc.
Summary - fantastic value, especially if you have kids who can pick as and when they please without disrupting your restaurant meals. Can save you a fortune on food and drink. Resort is quiet. Nice for a week’s break.

I found the holiday the best holiday...
10 / 10
Jul 2007, Miss K Reed

I found the holiday the best holiday ever!
The staff were all really friendly and going in the middle of July was a good choice as the sun was really hot and I came home with a nice tan.
I just want to thank-you for everything, and I will be back in the next year or two because it was such a great choice!
I have read the other comments and don't understand how people can say that the bar staff were unfriendly and impatient, they were the most friendly people there! The kids entertainment was really good as the songs were catchy and I was singing them on the way home!
I would definitely recommend this as a holiday, take my word, it's great.

Like most people we read the reviews...
7 / 10
Jul 2007, Mr A Craggs

Like most people we read the reviews and feared the worst, fortunately for us we had no problems two rooms with connecting doors meant loads of room for 2 adults and 3 kids under 10. Both rooms were spotless yes the bath rooms and kitchens were a bit dated but they were clean and adequate for us.
The rooms we stayed in had not been refurb but were still comfortable enough and cleaned 5 days a week, I hired the safe after reading about the thefts and I am happy to say that we heard of no one having anything stolen during our stay.
Food: My wife suffers from Crohn's disease which means she has to watch what she eats so we were wary to say the least, but we ate in the restaurant every day and every night bar one and we had no problems at all. Yes at times it got a bit "samey" but I think if you eat in the same place all the time it does, not once did any of our kids go hungry there was always some thing for them to eat.
Maybe we are easy pleased but I don't think so, if you only eat English food and are not prepared to try different things you could be better off staying in England.
Entertainment: From 11.00-1.00 and 3.00-5.00 our eldest 2 girls were entertained by the mini club reps leaving us to spend time with our 4 year old son although sometimes he did tag along with the girls.
Evening entertainment for us revolved around the mini disco and some of the shows the entertainment staff would put on most of it good fun even in 4 languages. We used a couple of the nights when the entertainment looked iffy to walk into the town centre to do shopping or play crazy golf.
My one gripe would have to be about the bar staff, miserable buggers the lot of them, only three drinks per person and they would serve all the men before serving any woman hence my wife had an excuse not to go to the bar.
All in all we all had a really good time, a lot better than we were expecting. I am not one to return to places I have already been but as it can be quite hard to find hotels that sleep 5 people there may be a time when we come back here.

Having read the reviews on here...
10 / 10
Jul 2007, Miss V Mortimer

Having read the reviews on here before we went to the Eurocalas, I was dreading going.
I thought oh god we have made a huge mistake, but I was wrong.
We arrived at the hotel at 10pm Thursday evening, got our room key straight away, didn’t know where to go to the apartment block so one of the reception guys showed us the way.
Got in our room newly furnished looked lovely was very spacious with a lovely balcony.
The pool outside our apartment block was very good with the shallow pool for the kiddies and the deeper pool next to it didn’t get too busy was great for the kids and you could relax round the pool while watching the children.
Food was great lots of different choice for everyone always had different desserts too, like different fruits or cakes or ice cream. Waiters were always on hand to clean up. We found the bar staff very nice some did stick to the 3 drinks rule, others didn’t.
The kiddies entertainers were very good with the children. Our kids loved to get up and do the mini disco after the kids club and in the evening also the shows after the mini disco in the evening were varied and very good, some better than others but still all good.
This has to be my best holiday loved every minute of it. The people who we met on their holiday too were very friendly and couldn’t help you enough.
Everyone at the Eurocalas working there or on holiday were very friendly and I can’t fault it we will be definitely going back to the Eurocalas.

I saw the reviews about the resort...

Jun 2007, Miss K Smith

I saw the reviews about the resort but decided to check it out I went with my partner and my 4 kids when we got to the hotel we were very tired but we got happily greeted by the reception staff which were friendly throughout. The apartment was very nice and the balcony had a view of 1 of the pools.
The entertainment at night was good 4 the kids they really enjoyed dancing to the mini disco and watching the shows the bad thing was they played the same songs over n over again but the kids seemed to like it.
The bar staff was friendly. The food wasn’t very good especially for the kids, there was nothing except chips, the snack bar through the day was better than the restaurant. They had mini clubs 4 the little kids through the day and sporting events 4 the adults and older kids.
The clean up service though the day wasn’t very good at all they were drinks everywhere left which meant wasps attracted to them and many people got stung. The maid service wasn’t very good they made the beds 5 days of 7 but the floors were filthy and the surfaces were dusty.
On the morning when we was leaving they didn’t even tell us what time we were getting picked up or what was happening and said it wasn’t there problem but we found out and it was very early in the morning and they said that they would open the restaurant for us so we were not going hungry but when it got to the morning they refused and said sorry but you cant have anything even though we’d paid all inclusive for that day.
It was my first holiday here and I think it will be my last

Jun 2007, Mrs K Wood

After spending a week all inclusive I will defiantly return the rooms was lovely and clean, food was basic but there was something for everyone, the pools was nice and clean and always enough sun beds to go round as for the resort I thought it was complete the only building work going on was across the road and if you used the larger pools around the back we couldn’t hear or see any of this.
As for security we were forever leaving money and cameras in the room none of these was touched.
Entertainment was geared more towards the children with the mini disco and shows and a lovely lady will come to the hotel to braid hair.
Staff was very helpful and friendly towards us.
We enjoyed the hotel so much we hardly spent any time away.
The only complaint we had was the weather (2 days rain) but you can’t blame the resort for that.

Went on holiday 26th May to 9th July...

Jun 2007, redrawf

Went on holiday 26th May to 9th July to Calas de Mallorca and stayed at the hotel Eurocalas all inclusive package, when getting there we were in the middle of a construction site, opposite the hotel building many luxury apartments there were diggers and cranes.
Also the hotel had change hands and under new management and undergoing refurbishment work in the hotel, changing all the room furniture enter your room and not letting you know they were doing so.
There were no baby facilities, changing or food. Every time we had to change my 9 mth son we had to go up to our room, baby food from the supermarket cost 2.60 euro.
The food in the canteen and snack bar wasn't very nice at all, chicken in chocolate sauce, squid offal, and some other cheap meat, my son lived on pasta & chips the all two weeks we were there. It was like back at school.
The entertainment was as rubbish as the food, quiz night in 4 languages English, German, Spanish, Swedish. Crazy mix 4 adults dressing up and miming to music and jumping around like idiots.
Mini kids club not very safe, kids wondering off staff not noticing leaving, no interaction with the children, letting kids run around swimming pools and blind man bluff in pool.
No playground hadn't been built, we spent more money than we wanted, took £500 for emergencies only come back with £100. We had to pay for rides and toys to entertain our 4yr old.
We eat out a couple of times because we couldn’t face the food they were serving. This was the worst holiday I have ever been on in my life, could not wait to come home. Complained to Thomas rep and hotel manager but not bothered. NIGHTMARE!

Jun 2007, Mr R O'Coonor

The hotel was very clean; the rooms were fine and again very clean.
There were enough pools which were never too crowded and a snack bar-self service-by the pool.
There was more than enough variety in the restaurant at lunch time and evening time though admittedly breakfast was not so good. The tables were always clean and the staff helpful.
The bar never seemed to have enough staff at busy times i.e. evenings. Children’s entertainment was ok, but the evening entertainment was a bit naff - and more geared to kids.
If you don't expect the Hilton then you'll be fine. I would go again...with my own tea bags.
