We booked this holiday as a family of 5 rating from 2 years to 50+ and i can honestly say for my first holiday abroad it was an absolute pleasure, from start to finish. We were met on arrival late at night at reception by a gentlemen that was straight to the point but polite. Told us where our accommodation was and where to get something to eat. After reading the reviews the apartment was a nice surprise plenty of room for the five of us and clean. Beds made and plenty of clean towels everyday. Not much of a view but who wants to sit on the balcony all day. 3 spacious pools and all clean (which is more than i can say for a lot i have been to in England)

The food was on the whole brilliant, plenty of it and from my point of view enough variety to have something different each day. Deserts most favourable and now sat on my waste line! Dining area constantly being cleaned and table clothes changed all the time ready for the next diners.

Our 2 year old loved the mini disco (so did the 16 year old) as there were club dances to join in with the entertainers. Maybe the adult entertainment wasn't always as good as it could have been but you can't have everything and there was always something to do in the day time. The beach was only about 10 Min's away through a nice little walkway from the hotel. The town was about 10 Min's the other way and i found it fine! all in all we had a very good time and will be returning next year!

thank you and well done club Cala Romani :)

my boyfriend and i (19 and 22) stayed at the hotel for 10nights on a last minute break and got exactly what we would expect for what we had paid. we wanted a relaxing holiday with more lively places to go in the evening and beach nearby.

FOOD was ok, not the best but what do you expect for 3* we just had a laugh about it cos we were planning to eat out some evenings anyway. but stay away from the prawns they squirt out BLOOD!!!!!!

BEACH was lovely it was abit small but in september that seemed to be ok and it was never toooo crowded, path leads straight from the poolside down to the beach and there was a train that took people with buggys and stuff aswell from out the front.

TOWN itself was alright not exactly lively but there was about 10 restaurants&bars where we ate out quite abit, the food was excellent everywhere we ate out and pretty good value id reccomend you eat out some nights. and two nightclubs but we didnt go to those.

overall id say this would be a good family holiday there seemed to be lots of entertainment for the kids even mid september and adults entertainment wasnt bad...but yeah there was often loud music by the pool and announcements but thats just what this type of holiday is like!!!

ROOM was cleaned every day no air con but its fine just open the balcony door. bathroom was big and clean.

DRINKS you get free are san miguel, pepsi, 7up, loads of spanish spirits and cocktails.

My holiday was booked for the Belsana Hotel only it was full hence we were sent to Club Romani. We got to bed at 4.45am after leaving Gatwick at 21.15.

However this is catering more for families where as we were two senior citizens but we made the best of the holiday. My main complaint is that we found that reception staff could have been more helpfull. As we were not at our booked hotel we were concerned as to the pick up by Transfer coach and as such asked a member of staff to phone for us which was refused.Even though I explained my problem of not speaking Spanish I was told this would not be a problem but it was.In the end after loosing 3.50euros I thought the best bet was to ring England direct which I did.As for the food we found it rather sad that there were chips every day, most mornings breakfast food was cold and no brown sauce. As for the sweet well the main fruit every day were tinned pears nothing different. The really good thing about the hotel was that we were given a photo card for all inclusive instead of the plastic braclet in most other places

We booked our holiday even after reading terrible reviews of this hotel because we were booking a last minute cheap package. In the past we have never had a bad experience and thought we would take our chances with this one.

We were greeted by a very rude man on reception who could not be bothered to explain where our room was. We were situated a long distance from the main part of the hotel in what can only be described as a council tower block. However we were pleasantly surprised to find that 3 of us had an appartment consisting of a twin bedded room, spacious bathroom, large lounge with three sofa beds, kitchen, dining area and an enormous balcony.

The beach is quite a distance from the hotel, quite a bit further than is suggested. The pool is huge but not relaxing as loud music and announcements are blasted out frequently.

The town is only a short walk away but apart from a nice british cafe for breakfast and the china town for dinner, it has nothing to offer a holidaymaker. There are only a few cafes claiming to be restaurants, two bars with no atmosphere and numerous tacky shops.

The worst part of this holiday was definitely the food. There is no variety, just one meat and one fish each meal. The bread is hard, the meat is grey and processed, the vege is soggy, the potatoes taste like fish, the salad is dry and the pudding is sloppy. I would not even call it like school dinners, more like prison food, although prisoners are probably served better. We all came away feeling very sluggish and put off food for a while.

There is plenty of variety at the bar but i would not recommend the cocktails as they come out of a pre mixed machine - nice.

The cleaners are not very good either.

Overall i would not recommend this resort to anyone as it is oversized, chavvy, dirty and you are served slop by rude members of staff.

Oh and the entertainment is like a bad butlins.

I have been reading some of the comments on this hotel and i am very upset that people have had bad experiences of this hotel i myself took my 2 teenage grandaughters there and had the best time ever.... we all cried when we had to leave the people were lovely... admittedly the room was very small, but lets face it how long do you spend in it. Yes there were queues initially for the dinning room but we just waited for the que to go down then just marched in there it is open for 2hrs for each meal. The food was ok and although it was repeatitive they were enough choices to have something different everynight. I had no problems with the entertainment, the kids stuff was brilliant they enjoyed it so much. The adult entertainment was a bit naff, but isn't is like that everywhere you go (unless you are paying mega bucks for a really top notch hotel) i found it really funny. My grandaughters and I would definately go back again. As for the walk to the beach it took us about 5-8mins to walk the path to the beach it was fun and we needed the excersise after all that eating and drinking. Well done Cala Romani.

My family and I have just come back from this resort, to be frank I would not advise anyone to go on holiday here.

On arrival at reception on the 7th August I was greeted by the member of staff whom could not be bothered to explain anything about the hotel (It was like pulling teeth).

It wasn’t until I got to our room that we realised that we would have to pay extra for near enough everything. There isn’t any air-con in any of the rooms, with the humidity at this time of year I can assure you that you really need this. Instead the hotel are willing to hire you desk fans at an absolute Micky taking price of approx £38.00, they also rent you the safety deposit box keys for about £33. this is based on the 12 nights that we stayed there. The best thing about he hotel is the pool areas, these are ideal for kids although you have to be up at about 06.45 hrs in order to get a sun bed by putting your towel down. Just be aware of the missing tile bits in each pool !!!!!!!

The hotel is not really geared up for the English. The music around the pool most days was in Italian as was the commentary by the so called entertainer on the Mic. On one day this Italian music went on until midnight.....This really got up peoples noses, including mine. The food in the single restaurant was very plain, boring and mostly not kept to temperature, In other words, it was cold and it certainly is not child friendly. Be prepared to queue for everything, the facilities on the complex are not enough for the amount of guests. One restaurant and one bar open during the day for everyone. You are also not allowed to take any food out of the restaurant, hence making you governed to strict meal times. They do have a snack area but this is total rubbish. The beech is a good ten or so min walk away, when you have kids and I would not recommend taking too much on this hike. The kids disco in the evenings was good although there was a big break in between this and the main entertainment that on some nights was very basically done by the hotel entertainers. On site there is a kids club, although I did not put my young daughter through this, I had great doubts about what qualifications these people had to care for my child. I think this hotel will struggle to keep its 3 stars on the next review. The day Animation team are something else, that’s if you can drag them away from the Italians and French guests. Apart from a little dance around the pool in the morning you hardly see them. Not one of them said hello to any of my family. Oh the weather was fantastic, to be positive. Beware of the beech packed lunch, you must have a ticket and make it yourself if you want one. (I thought we were on holiday?) I have travelled a fair bit in my time and this hotel has much to learn in order to improve. I would go back to Mallorca but certainly avoid this hotel.

we arrived at palma airport and our transfere was waiting for us,we got to our hotel after dreading what we was going to find after reading other peoples reviews and after an easy check in we went to our room which was very big and spacious (2 aduls 2 children).very clean and tidy could`nt fault anything, the room was cleaned daily along with the towels changed.what can i say about the pool BRILLIANT did`nt see my son all day pool kept very clean and the pool area was washed daily.Never had a problem getting a drink from the bar and as you can see we went high season. The restaurant was clean always a table plenty of food and choice (friday night pork night bloody gorgeous must try it)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!my son is a very fussy eater sausage and chip boy and even he was trying things which surprised me eg veal, and said it was lovely so the food could`nt have been that bad.town just down the road about 5 mins walk if you want to get a paper go to KATES which is opposite supermarket 2000 its the cheapest place.Theirs a foot path on the hotel grounds that leads you to a little beach lovely you have to pay for the sun beds and their are peddlos with slides on that you can also hire 15 euros an hour.i would recommend this hotel to anyone but especially familys withall ages of children.would definatley go back.

We arrived at Club Cala Romani and after waiting for over 2 and half hours later than check in we finally got our room key. On entering the apartment we found that the room was floating in water, it looked as though the fridge had defrosted all over the floor so had to get maids to mop it all up.

On second night at 1.50 in the morning mysef and grand daughter were asleep in bed when someone opened the door and walked into our room. Luckily it was a lady with a baby who had just arrived . the reception had given her the spare key thinking that there was no-one in the room.

I went to reception the next morning to complain and they more or less told me I was imaging it and that they never give spare keys out. The reception are was so incompetant it was unbelievable. That happened again on the morning of my departure at 7.30am, we were walking around the room in our underwear when a man walked into the apartment, he had also been given the spare key. When complaining to reception they pretended that they could not understand English.

The pool are is quite nice, but the food is basic and very repetative.

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. DONT GO THERE !!

the hotel swimming pool was the only good thing about this whole holiday, the food although plentiful was cold and tasted bland it was also very repetative, the rooms were very small, when we had to put up the 3rd bed at a night time there was no room to pass to get onto the balcony.the hotel entertainment at night was poor to say the least with most of the time being taken up repeating every word in about seven different languages.you have to get into line to get your drinks and can wait 15/20 mins easily.the bar staff are more intrested in getting tips put in there bucket and ringing there bells than actually serving you.

saying all this though if you are only looking for a base then the hotel is quite well situated only a 5 min walk to the nearest beach which is very nice.

i would go back to majorca but would not stay in this hotel again.

p.s you need to get up very early to get a sun lounger with most of them being taken up by 7.30 am you can actully watch people from around six in the morning claiming there space.dont shop in the hotel supermarket it charges more than double what the local supermarket charges.

Just returned from 7 nights at the Romani and had a fantastic time. Me and my Mum have a mother/daughter holiday every year just to relax and our stay at the Romani was just that relaxing.

The food is good for a buffet all inclusive basis. There is plenty of choice and although at times they over do the oil in the pasta it is all tasty and filling. I have read other reviews and I am not sure what people want from a 3star hotel. If you want perfection pay more money!

The rooms are small but all I do on holiday is sleep and wash and get changed in my room. It was more than adequate for that.

The staff are typical spanish staff lovely, fun and polite untill you don't follow a rule then you get told off! and rightly so!!

The beach is a good ten minute walk away, down, what looks like a fairly new concrete path. Through a wooded area. It is pleasant but I would advise ordering a packed lunch fom the hotel before setting off! (you have to order it the day before, before 6pm) The food on the beach is overpriced and the biscuits in the pack up are delicious... The bay that the beach is in is gorgeous... very like ladram bay in devon if you hve been there?

If you have kids there is plenty for them to do. 3 x swimming pools, a play area, paddling pools, tennis courts, table tennis, pool. There is also a mini-Blackpool effort with machines that take a euro for a game for them to play on and a kids club.

Adult entertainment in the day is good at night its dya!!! One good show in a week (there is a show every night though!-the shows do appeal to children!) but hey if your in a all adult party sit and have a chat in the upstairs bar they occasionally put a singer on! The bars are strictly only open till midnight to allow people in the hotel to sleep but the bars are open 10am - midnight everyday so that is surly long enough?

All in all a good holiday and I didn't get a tummy bug the whole time I was there so the food must be good!! Overall I would book this holiday if you want a relaxing holiday or if you have kids... and you are on abit of a budget it is excellent value for money.

I spent ages trying to find a nice relaxing holiday for my partner and myself after one hell of a year, which I won't go into. What can I say about this hotel? When you walk into the hotel, it looks lovely, all marble floor & stairs, nice big reception desk, fast and friendly check in. You can see the pool area out the back as you walk in, which also looks lovely. We wouldn't wait to get our bags unpacked and get out there. Then it went downhill rapidly. The floor in the lift (cheap old lino) was so badly warped that I tripped on it. (2 lifts that each hold 4 people maximum by the way, for a hotel full of over 800 people!) Wall lights in the corridors hanging off with wires exposed. The rooms look quite big as you walk down the corridor and see the distance between the bedroom doors. You open the door, and what's behind it? 2 more doors. The original rooms (probably apartments) have been split into 2 separate rooms. The bathroom was filthy, crap (and I mean crap) around the skirting board area... I say "area" as they had obviously been ripped off and never replaced or redecorated. Shower was ok, powerful enough. Rusty old scale covered pipes sticking out of the floor. The beds were awful, dressed only with a creased up white sheet and a pillow about 2 inches deep, they're about 10 inches off the ground, and it turned out, they were old sofas. Wouldn't let a dog sleep on them. Would have been more comfortable sleeping on the marble reception desk. Ceiling light in the room had a flex about 6 feet long just dangling there in a loop... nearly hung myself walking past it, several times. Old non-working electric hob in corner of the room beside rotten old sink. Tiny wardrobe with 6 hangers and 2 drawers to share between us in a shabby old bedside unit. Balcony door with no lock on it. Found a nice chunk of broken glass on the floor on the 3rd day so room hadn't been cleaned properly. Maids very rude, ok they have a job to do, but whilst my partner & I were having a "ciesta", they just barged in. I had no undies on, my partner asked them to give me a minute to dress and they barged in regardless. The only good thing about the room was that there was a working fridge in the corner... essential for water supplies as no air conditioning. Asked to move rooms but were told they were full & couldn't do anything til tuesday (we arrived friday), them got chatting to another couple who had complained and got moved straight away. Not good. Enough about the room. The pool area was lovely but there just wasn't enough room or sun beds for all the guests. One bar open all day at the pool with only 2 staff. 800 guests... can you imagine the queue for a drink. Though one of the bar men was quite a laugh. Snack bar was meant to be open whenever the main restaurant was closed. We didn't get in there once, the only time we saw it was open, we weren't allowed in as they only had room for 100 people in there. So they just closed it as they were full. That was that. Food in the main restaurant was just edible. If you like veal for dinner every night and scrambled eggs swimming in an inch of water for breakfast, you're onto a winner. Fruit juice was actually very watery squash. Hardly any english people there, mainly german and french. Sheets weren't changed once in the 4 days we were there. We ended up moving to the Lagomonte hotel in Alcudia at an extra cost of £210 plus 60 euros for the taxi, but it was worth every penny. Please please please, avoid the Club Cala Romani like the plague, unless you're into everything I've listed above. Pool great, beach up the road great, little town of Calas de Mallorca great, the rest of it.... CRAP CRAP CRAP!!! (PS this wasn't in first choice's brochure, the young girl in there found the hotel on line for me, was as gutted as we were when I phoned her to complain and pulled out all the stops to get us moved, so top marks to lauren in First Choice WGC!)

I will describe to the best of my ability Club Cala Romani. I will apologise now for the length of this review, there is no short way of doing it. If you don’t want to read the full review then here is my advice to you, DO NOT GO!!

For those who have the time to read this I will get started.

Club Cala Romani, *** All Inclusive for 12nights, me my wife and the two kids aged 2 & 5.

Check in.

We were late check in at 10.45pm and they could not find our reservation once we were sorted out it was 11.45pm. We went straight to our room. We noticed it was very warm in the room so I started to look for the air con, to my delight there was none. I looked in the fridge for a bottle of water yet again nothing. So with two extremely hot tired, thirsty kids, I went to the reception to get some refreshments and hire some fans. I was greeted by a security guard behind the reception who had no access to anything. He then pointed out a machine that I could purchase bottled water. I only had notes, and asked him for change, once again he was of no help. Just as my patience had ran out, a coach full of people arrived and their cases were quickly taken from them and they were taken to a small doorway just across from the pool area. I followed the group but I was stopped by the very same security guard from entering this room, so I asked what was going on. I got no sense from him so I walked away making sure I took a peak through a window in to the room. Everyone inside was helping themselves to a buffet of food and drink. That was it, I went mad shouting and screaming at the security guard who eventually let me in to the forbidden area to get some refreshments. Once inside I got several drinks and made my way back to my parched family, noticing that I could not understand any of the new pale sausage eating guests? I will let you guess what nationality they were. That was my first taste of Club Romani’s priorities.

The Rooms.

No air con made them unlivable fan hire is a massive money spinner here you can’t do without one. So buy them in town it’s cheaper and they don’t like it. The beds resemble something out of Prisoner Cell Block H and the kitchen area was from a 1984 touring caravan. The rooms are clean.

Breakfast (the most important meal of the day) Available 8-10.

Say you go for breakfast at 8.30am.

You will search for a free table, this will take about 10mins.

Search for a high chair if you have small kids 5mins

Stand in a queue for tea-coffee 5mins

Queue for toast 20mins (only two toasters for 300 people)

Queue for bacon eggs etc 5mins

It is now 9.15 and you have only got breakfast for the kids and a cold cup of coffee on the table. So you re-run the fun going to the back of all the queues again but this time you are trying to get two of every thing because you are up against the clock and one of you has to stay with the kids.

So two coffees and run back to the table, forget more toast the queue is too long, grab two plates and jump in the queue for bacon eggs etc, But what’s this as you approach the buffet, food is being removed you check your watch its only 9.30, you have no time to think just get what you can and run back to the table throw the plates down and make a run for the croissant basket, you grab what’s left turn around to see your wife shouting we have no knives and forks, and your off again to the other side of the dinning room grab some cutlery and run back to your table. Once seated you look down and what have you got.

A plate with beans a tomato and a long pale sausage, another cold cup of coffee, half a croissant, a slice of toast, no butter or jam, three forks one knife and a table spoon.

Infact there is more food on your tee shirt than is on your table, and it is now 9.55am and all the food and condiments have been taken away.

All in all this is a nightmare especially for those with small kids. There is one good point though, you and your partner will work this morning relay with the perfection of a SAS task force by the end of your stay.

Hiring a fan.

We needed two one for us and one for the kids, 15euros a week each and 5euros for every additional day each. Total cost 70euros. I bought two in town for 60euros they were bigger and better. I gave them to some new guests the day we left.

Getting a sunlounger.

You need to get up at 5.30am to beat our European cousins.

Dinner and evening meals.

I am far from a fussy eater, in fact I love all food as do my kids.

The food here is edible and that is it, bland tasteless cheap rubbish.

The buffet had no consistency, chips, brussle sprouts, white fish, and some kind of beef stew. I like them all but how do you put that together to make a meal on a plate.

Plain pasta or plain spaghetti and a vat of tinned tomatoes now that’s just wrong.

The kids disco.

This was really good no complaints at all, the entertainers were spot on with the kids playing games and dancing etc.

Adult evening entertainment.

A total joke, it was either the entertainment staff making fools of them selves for two hours or the worst acts I have ever seen. A juggler who dropped everything, a magician who cocked everything up, a man and wife spinning plates and she dropped and smashed half of them at the start of the show so he could not complete his show. I must admit we got a good laugh at them but not with them. The entertainment manager loved the sound of her own voice and would sing badly at any given opportunity even while acts were on stage.

The Bar.

Massive queues all the time, you could spend most of your night standing at the bar and only two half pints per person. At the end of the night you will be forced back to your room as no one is allowed to sit outside after 12pm. The security will move you.

The pool areas.

They are very nice no complaints. Kids pool is ideal for the younger ones and the animation team put on a few shows around the pool, they were better than the evening entertainment.

The beach.

It’s very nice but its is quite a long walk especially on the way back with push chairs and kids, its all up hill.

At last the end of my review.

My total summary is the downsides clearly out way the upsides. The biggest problem was no aircon it really made your stay here uncomfortable I would have came home early if it was possible, we were all totally fed up and are very pleased to be back home.

Just returned from an 11night holday in cala romani, overall we had a nice holiday but wud not really recommend this hotel to friends, firstly it has no air conditioning which is horrible had to sleep on the balcony with the result was savaged by mosquitos! The hotel rent out fans but they are not that great. We had 3 kids aged 8, 4 and 20mths, didnt put them in the club because there was a charge which i wasnt aware of when booking and also one or 2 of the adults running the club werent really that friendly with the kids in my opinion! The food and drinks are lovely we were very happy with it altho ive never met so many rude staff in one place the restaurant in paticular! They have a lovely pool area altho they play very very loud music its like Butlins, The little toddler pool is great tho and there is a playgroud, The beach is lovely but a bit on the small side weather was fantastic and a nice resort but wudnt return to this hotel!!

The resort is very clean and well set out with lovely swimming pools. The appartment was very basic. We didnt have a T.V in our room but my sister had a studio appartment which was very cramped for 2 adults and a 3 year old child, which had a T.V,but the downside was you needed a remote control to turn it on and to get a remote it was going to cost 35 euros to borrow. The advertisements say telephone in every room, well we had one but when we checked someone had snapped the wire and there wasnt even anywhere to plug it in.There wasnt enough english speaking staff and one boy at reception didnt have a clue what you were saying. The resort is good if you are  dutch or spanish. There were 2 childrens clubs and 1 was dutch and the other spanish. There isnt really a lot to do for young children(especially if you are british!) apart from play on the little climbing frame/slide or the splash pool. The food was ok except that they smeared their food in a garlicy herb, quite offputting after a while. The entertainment in the evening wasnt very good so we left early most nights. There isnt much of a town its more of a tourists market place. We went to the chinese just down the road from the resort,i encourage you not to go as the food was awful, the sweet n sour sauce was like water, put it this way you dont get your moneys worth there. He's very unprofessional, as we were paying he turned round and slapped his very young child in front of a few of us.I believe that this resort is for people who only want to sunbathe or swim all day, have no children or have teenagers or for an older couple who just want to relax.I find the shops very overpriced especially for our papers and sweets and chocolates.

I have just got back from the hotel and i would like to say yeh i had a good time. Only problem was that our room was right above reception so we heard the coaches coming in day and night so i had a sleepness fornight. The food was the same every day it bored me to death me and my family went out and ate 4 times in 2 weeks. The bar staff were good well some of them, espcially one guy he made me and my family feel really welcomed when we went to the bar.The cleaness of the room was rubbish i swear my bed didnt get changed atall when i was there.
