Firstly, please note that if you do not want a long transfer to the hotel, arrange a taxi transfer as it is very far from the airport. It took 2 and a half hours to get to the hotel, dropping others off on the way.
There were two aduls and a toddler on our holiday, and overall it was a pleasant holiday.
Good points: The pools were clean, the staff were helpful, and the majority could speak good english, except the cleaners. Clean towels every morning.
There were lots of activites for adults and the children to take part in, although I think children between 5-13 would apprecaite the kids activities more, such as football, archery, and ten pin bowling (not the real thing may I add). If you finished first in the activities you receive a certificate which is a nice touch!
We never had problems in getting sunbeds, but I would advise to put your towels down before breakfast, as this seems to reserve the sunbeds.
Alcohol beer was self service (san miguel half pints), as were much of the soft drinks except spirits. And the spirits were generously poured.
The town was a minute away and there was a local supermarket to buy water (if you do not want to use the water from the tap). I would advise to shop at the supermarket, and not the shop in the hotel, as the prices are alot cheaper. The bars were great in town, majority offering local beers at 2 for 3 euros. There are also two beaches 500 metres away from the hotel. There is a market with lots of shops to buy clothes, souveniers etc.
Bad points: The cleaners did not understand when we wanted extra time in the room, and would work around you. Also, my other half was told at the bar 'next time, dont forget my tip!' which I thought was rude.
There were ants in the bathroom, but we could have been unlucky with the room. There was no aircon, and you had to keep the patio doors open at night, which was not good because we were above the outside sitting area of the bar. Also, if you are put into the main block of rooms (the reception building) there is no fridge (I think its 40 euro a week to hire). If there are 5 or more of you in one room, you will be lucky enough to go into the apartments which have a fridge.
If you dont like wasps, beware! Some people dont know what a bin is and leave their empty drinks beside their sunbeds, and attract the wasps. There are wasps everywhere, you have been warned.
So-so: THE FOOD! Some days good, some days bad. One thing is for certain, there is always chips. In the morning, noon and evening. I would advise to eat in the pizzeria restaurant in the hotel, the better of the two restaurants on site. If you want to eat out, there is better food in some restaurants in town.

Me and my daughter travelled to the Romani Hotel in August of this year for seven nights. I have read some of the reviews on here and I agree with this other person that they are clearly snobs! The staff were friendly and the pools were clean. The food was of a good standard, and the entertainment was brilliant. The rooms were clean and the maids came in everyday, there is no air con in the rooms, but what do people expect when they come to a hot climate? There was a variety of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Me and my daughter had a brilliant time, and we made friends out there. So don't let these ten bob millionaires put you off!!

Just returned from this hotel last week and all in all had a great 10 days.
First thing the transfere yes it dose take atleast two hours so be prepared and the calla romani is the last hotel so you will be in for a long wait, however if you go in the day as we did the scenary is great and you get to have a nosey at other peoples hotels.
Rooms and Hotel
The hotel is great the pool area is by far its best feature and if you have a pool view in the main hotel its beatyful the mountains and the surrounding gardens of the hotel are really nice. The rooms are small and basic but clean and tidy and if you are only two like my partner and I we found them more than adequate. They were cleaned everyday and the power shower we had was great. This hotel needs aircon badly as it is like a furnace in the rooms for 12 hours. The celling fans dont do the job and it is hard to sleep
Food & Drink
The food we found to be ok there was allways lots of it but going all inclusive it is VERY repetative the same thing is wheeled out for both luch and dinner, but you can allways find something to eat if you look. Another point was the desserts were dissappointing. The resturant is too small for the amount people there and this left people frustrated waiting to get into the resturant and for an avalible table. The snack bar was cold food bread, cheese ham etc, soft drinks and beer are self service and the slush are great for cooling down. The staff we found to be allways pleasent and helpfull the work really hard and we had no problems.
Beach & Resort
Its really lovely about a 5-10 min walk around the back of the hotel well worth a visit, its a small cove but there was allways somewhere to sit and the sea is a wonderfull colour. There is a nice little town center with a good few shops and resturant we enjoyed walking around here and its 5 minutes from the hotel.
We had a nice time and I would go back again to this hotel

Its location is great a short walk away from bars and shops. Food is great nice and fresh.Pool fantastic. Would defo go back again.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Club Cala Romani and would certainly recommend it to others. After reading some of the reviews we were a little apprehensive about staying here but we had a wonderful time. Due to a flight delay, we didn't arrive at the hotel until nearly 1am and we still received a warm welcome at reception. We were then escorted to our apartment block - we stayed in a 1 bed apartment situated in the block 'Tamir'. The room was very clean and provided adequate accommodation for our party of 4 (2 adults & 2 children). Towels were changed daily & the maids were always polite and helpful. Yes, chips are served at every lunch/dinner time but if you don't want to eat them, don't put them on your plate! There was an extensive selection of food on offer each day and our children enjoyed the freedom of being able to pick their own food themselves. The entertainment team did a super job and the evening shows were varied (we had seen a couple before on previous holidays). The pool areas were clean and tidy but they did get busy during peak times. There are notices advising that you are not allowed to reserve sun beds but some people still did which was annoying when they didn't use them for most of the day! The on site supermarket/poolside shop is massively overpriced - the main shopping area is only a short walk from the hotel and there is a children's play area and mini golf. All in all, a very nice holiday and we would return.

We have just returned from 2 weeks of all inclusive bliss, this holiday has been by far the best holiday ive hd since becoming a mum, i have a 6 year old and a 4 month old. My sister her hubby and their 3 kids hve been to club cala romani 3 times now and it was her that recommend we go as well. I cant really fault the place, the room was basic but the only time we were in the room is to sleep all areas very clean, the pools were fab, poolside areas hosed down and scrubbed every night and every morning. the entertainers made the holiday, they made it so much fun for kids and the adults, my 6 year old absolutely loved it and his fave entertainer was audric lol bye bye doweeeeee. the food was great but could have had a bit more selection for the kids ie chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc. Overall we had a fantastic time and will definately be going back next year. My son will miss his fave entertainer though as this is his last season so goodbye and good luck audric.

Just back from a weeks holiday in club cala romani, it was the best holiday i can remember, i went as a single mother with a toddler and teenager and found everything tons better than what the reviews had said...the only downer was the transfer times, i would def recommend private taxi as we had return shuttle and the times were 2 hours there and 2hrs on the way back but apart from that, the foods good, great pools, good rooms, all the staff where brilliant & very helpful, the kids entertainer at the minni disco was fantastic, ifyou have young ones i would def recommend it, not too good for the teens unles they meet friends..The rooms were kept lovely & clean with bed & towel change every day, late checkouty which we took was only 20 euros and we had to leave hotel at 5.30pm, & your allowed the room til u leave, anythhing u need the reception staff always try to please, i absolutely loved this holiday and stayed y the pool (which is the highlight of this holiday) til half an hour b4 we left...the only problem is depressiopn once at home!!!!!!
Booked already for next june & sooooooo excited!!! Dont listen to bad reviews this is the perfect holiday...

Stayed here for 10 days mid Sep 2010 and had a great time!
We were late out of Donny on the Saturday, then had to wait over an hour for the transfer coach at Palma, and didn't get to the hotel until 0130 on Sunday - first day gone :-(
Staff - Surly at first, then great fun and helpful once you loosen up and talk to them.
Entertainers - Superb linguists and very hard working. Unfortunately Auric aka Croissant is leaving at the end of this season. Farewell to one of the very best...
Rooms - very basic, with hard single beds. We pushed ours together for a more 'romantic' experience, but no such lick because of the racket through the open balcony window! Have to keep it open all the time, because it's stifling otherwise. Air conditioning would add a point to my rating.
Maid Service - Very attentive, efficient, clean and helpful. How they are so cheerful with so much hard work to do is beyond me. First class 10/10
Food - Plenty of it, good selection, but let down (for me) by having garlic in the vegetables. Not much, but just enough to put me off, especially jacket potatoes. Leave the garlic out, and I'd add another point to my rating.
Bars and Booze - Paraffin. Beer's OK but gassy and weak. Griz and I were drinking Cuba Libre, but it was melting the wax on the cups!!! Ended up having Tia Maria and Pepsi to save on the indegestion tablets! If they'd get a slightly better standard of 'Local' spirits, I could give it another half a point.
Local bars and Shops - Usual stuff, priced to make you shop around. Drinks better obviously, but look out for 2 for 1 deals in Black Bull and Sinatra's.
Overall, I had a fab time, and I'd probably go back again, if the price was right.
- Advice: Look for a good dicount deal and go - you'll have a great time

my second visit to the club cala romani and have to say was not disappointed staff in all areas are great, rooms are adequate, the pools are lovely, I think personaly people who expect more should be staying at 5* hotels the hotel is 3* and if people take time to speak to the staff will find them all helpful, and yes they do smile, will go back again loved it. The cala romani is great ,rooms were kept clean every day, plenty of sun loungers and plenty of entertainment for children and adults what more can you want. Val Kent

I returned from the Club Cala Romani on 6th Sept after 10 days there all inclusive with my wife and 5 year old daughter and I can honestly say that people who talk this place down are clearly snobs. My opinion is that for a hotel of this size the staff do an extremely good job keeping it clean and tidy. The pools are a haven for kids, great fun the adults too. Food basic but again its all inclusive so you would expect it when you consider they have to feed about 600 mouths + every day!! The entertainers really make the effort for people of all ages. There are always activities to take part in during the day which are organised by the staff including archery,5 a side football, tennis courts are availble also. For the kids they organise mystery games once or twice a day which is a good idea. If you can put up with the wasps then on a winner (there are quite a few)but its down to a lot of the holiday makers leaving their rubbish, half finished drinks and icecreams on the floor to be knocked and kicked over (how hard is to find a bin, there are loads around the pool)?? Air con..well doesn't exist in the bedrooms but if you hire a fan from reception for appox 28 euros for 10 days then problem solved! I would definately go back and recommend it to any family with young/teenage kids.(there is one quite ignorant bar maid though, not mentioning any names) My rating for the Club Cala Romani a well deserved 9/10.

Most of the comments we read on review sites rated this hotel highly, so we expected more than we got, even though it is only 3 star – we stayed in Porto Pollensa in May, again a 3 star all-inclusive, and there is no doubt that hotel was far superior.
Comments we agree on regarding this hotel:
Food good and presented very well, but limited variety and repetitive.
Most bar staff were extremely miserable except Kumar who was always smiling and friendly. Yes they work very hard, particularly in the dining room, and it was near the end of season, but it’s their business, and it didn’t stop Kumar from being welcoming.
Good pool and gardens, well looked after.
Rooms (double) basic, not over clean – and without air con – just a fan with broken controls so we had to risk injury operating it, even after commenting to staff, with no response. We can’t imagine the fans would cope in high summer, because we were quite uncomfortably hot some nights – in October! (Not complaining about the weather though!)
Drinks were very good – even the local spirits.
Other comments:
Picnic lunch not included in all-inclusive and they charge an extra 5 euros even though we’d paid for a meal that we were not going to have in as we were out all day! When asked why, the false smiling lady on reception just gave us another false smile and repeated that it wasn’t included! We just took rolls, fillings and fruit from snack bar, even though they say it is not allowed.
Upgrade to an apartment would cost 20 euros per day! (Having read other comments, we’re glad we didn’t bother).
Maids kept leaving the room insecure by leaving the balcony door open. After complaining, they closed the doors but then turned the fan off!
All in all, yes you get what you pay for, but we have definitely stayed in superior 3 star accommodation.
