This holiday is the worst I have ever witnessed.
The rooms were poor, the maids were rude and arrogant, and the hotel staff were unhelpful and ignorant.
I arrived at 5:30 am and I had to wait 6 hours before I was shown to my room, where I discover there were mosquitoes and other various bugs lurking in the hotel and in my room.
I was awoken nearly every night by the building work being done outside the hotel around the pool area. There was 4 pools, 2 child, 2 adult, all were dirty and scummy and not fit for swimming.
I went for 2 weeks but was hoping to come home after the first few days. I would not advise anyone to book this holiday as I have been on many others in Majorca and this is the worst ever, and never going to go back to Majorca again.
Majorca has let me down big time. Thanks for taking your time to read this review hope it helps ... Do not book a holiday to Sol Balmoral hotel.

Superb holiday, food was excellent, apart from snack bar (left over’s from previous meal) came home 4 pounds heavier!
Hotel was spotless, staff very pleasant. Only grumble was one night devoid of sleep because of the wind, which rattled and banged our balcony doors all night long.
Hotel could do with a refurb, but I cannot complain.
Commercial Centre just a short stroll away, would recommend Tiffany's Irish Bar, open till early hours. Lots of shops, but all sell the same old tat.
Excellent value for money! Would go again!

I had my doubts about going to Mallorca, thinking it would be full of drunken teenagers, but it was great.
It’s the cleanest place we have ever stayed, staff were friendly, food was fantastic, and hotel was away from all the clubs.
The entertainment was really good (even though I normally hate that sort of thing, I even joined in) there were loads of activities during the day for adults, and a kids club for the children.
There is a beach 2 min's away but the better one is about a 10-15 minute walk. There is a path around the coast which is really beautiful.
We got this holiday last minute but I would have been happy if I had paid full price.
The only thing that I noticed is that the decor needs updating, but after a few days I didn’t notice anymore.
Anyone that gives Sol Balmoral a low mark must be expecting a 5* hotel for 3* price, if you want 5* pay for it or stop moaning.

I have just come back yesterday after spending 7 days at this hotel. I went with a friend and this was our first experience of a teletext holiday. Only paid £292 with everything on top so were not expecting too much.
As soon as we arrived at palma airport we had to wait an hour to be picked up, which wasn't the best start to the holiday. We arrived at hotel at 1.40 approx. The hotel did look a little dated, but still nice and clean. got up to room to then find there was no TV ,and the worst thing was there was no mirror in the main room, only in the bathroom which wasn't good for us ladies, and then try getting ready in a hot bathroom ,it was a nightmare!
Rooms-were dated but very clean and the maids did do a good job replacing towels every day making your beds etc. Do get a safe though just in case. No air con but the ceiling fan was adequate enough for the time of year, and it was June too!
Reception-staff very friendly and helpful, we only went there when needed to.
Meals-breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very nice. Lot of selection and very fresh can't complain at all. At lunch and dinner though the coffee machine was never on, so if you wanted a hot drink you would need to go to bar after meal.
Did not even see the snack bar unless we missed it somewhere? But to be honest the 3 meals a day were enough.
Drinks-bar staff were very friendly but only 1 drink at a time and you get given a card not a wrist band for all inclusive, so because you have to present this card when you go for meals and drinks you have to remember to carry it with you all the time.
The hotel itself like I say looks dated. it only has 2,yes 2! Toilets which I thought was ridiculous and we found the hotel to be very noisy at night, even in day sometimes.
The children would still be up past midnight shouting loudly, and even the adults coming in past 1am did not have any consideration for people sleeping. I know it is a hotel where children stay but you expect most to still be in school. This is why we came in June, out of term time.
Entertainment-a couple of the nights were not too bad but all in all it was pretty rubbish for adults. It was mostly for children.
You would think they would do them separately, but because they were on quite late, this is why the children were up so late. I think they really need to strive to make these allot better and have ones for adults too.
We did go to a lovely beach; you have to pay if you use a bed though! The sand was lovely but sea wasn't great. There was allot of seaweed so you came out covered.
There is another beach near the hotel America and that was allot better. I would recommend this one.
We found a place called supermarket 2000 just up the road about a 10 min walk although there is a train as well that passes regularly. You will find shops, bars and restaurants. very pleased with this.
Overall calas de mallorca is a lovely and quiet resort if that is what you are looking for, clean streets etc I was just a little disappointed with some things of the hotel.
A big tip for anyone going to stay here, if you do want quiet around the pool side as the main one gets busy and noisy ,there is another pool we found that not allot of people knew about!
Go down to end of main pool near the stage on right and there are some steps at the end and at the bottom look to your left and you will see it. It is next to the tennis courts. It even has a bar.
There were a few children there but not many and still quieter than other one.
So yes, holiday overall not too bad, but whether I would go again, I am not sure.

Booked this holiday 4 weeks before departure and having read some of the reviews I wondered if I had made a mistake. Both me and my husband have come to the same conclusion that we don't know what some people want!
The hotel and holiday was brilliant. The hotel itself is in an ideal location, quiet but only 5mins walk to the main shops and bars. It is clean and all hotel staff were friendly.
The food was excellent and all in all I cannot find any faults at all. I would definitely go back!

I've recently returned from our holiday at Sol Balmoral. Eleven of us in total went, five of them were children.
The rooms were very dated and basic although they were clean. Towels were changed daily and the beds were made.
The food was very enjoyable, but I thought there could have been more selection for young children, especially as mine are so fussy! The entertainment staff were excellent, the children loved them! Poolside was clean and plenty of room.
It's certainly a family holiday, I wouldn't recommend it for youngsters who want to party. We all enjoyed as we were planning on just relaxing by the pool. And that is exactly what we did. There was plenty of activities to join if you wanted to, for adults and children.
All in all it is what we wanted, to see the children enjoy and for us adults to relax.

This was our first time going all inclusive and I was a bit apprehensive but I must say, I was delighted! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.
My husband and I are in our 50s and we had a great time. The food was fantastic, the entertainment was really good and the staff were friendly and professional.
We have told our children who are in their 20s and they said that they would like to come with us next time we go.
There is lots to do during the day and if you get fed up with the hotel bar, you can take a short stroll to the town where there are quite a lot a bars to choose from.
The swimming pools and gardens are clean and there are lots of sun beds (free of charge) to lounge around on.
The only down side (if you can call it that) was that the rooms are a bit dated, but they are cleaned every day and the maids do a great job.
Try it and enjoy.

This holiday was absolutely fab, the room was cleaned every day, the food was very good and the entertainment was very good.
There was lots to do all day, different games for the men and the women and lots to do for the children. The shops and bars are close by. The main beach is a bit of a hike but there is a train that comes past the hotel all day. Me and my husband went in October and it was absolutely scorching hot it was brill our age range from 27 to 36.

Went to this hotel in 2006 in a party of 8.
It was very basic accommodation, 2 children 2 adults in 1 room with 4 single beds squashed together. There was no TV, no air con.
Pool areas were good as there were 2 pools as well as 2 baby pools, good entertainment.
Wouldn’t go back. This hotel needs up dating and the staff need to be updated too. Staff very ignorant and miserable. Not very clean hotel.
Hotel across the road which you can use is much better, cleaner, and lovely pool area including indoor pool but it can get a bit over crowded.
This holiday wasn’t a cheap one, for the money we spent, I would expect a five star hotel.

We got a fantastic deal on a holiday to the Balmoral through travel city direct.
The hotel is great, the food fantastic show cooking everyday something fresh always being fried before you’re eyes whether it was steak, pork chops, lamb chops and fish galore. Many types of which I had never tried before which were all wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel to families on an all inclusive basis because you can have so much, large drinks, ice creams for the kids, a snack bar that was o.k. Nothing special to be honest but with so much variety at breakfast, lunch, and supper you really didn’t need any snacks.
The resort of Calas de Mallorca was a bit to quiet for me and the beach to the left of the hotel was horrid so don’t go there. The beach about 15 mins away behind the American Hotetur was gorgeous, never seen water so blue and clear in my life just big enough for you to have a fantastic day out. There were plenty of shops to explore and lots of restaurants on a small complex if you like, and a fantastic Chinese restaurant go there its brilliant.
We met some wonderful people from Wales and Yorkshire and spent most of the holiday together and still keep in touch with a couple of the girls, so not only did we have a fantastic holiday we also made some long distance friends.

Me and my husband booked this hotel 2 weeks before we arrived.
First impressions were nice staff but hotel atmosphere a bit "chavvy" kids running wild and parents sitting around drinking and smoking. May be a bit better in lower season.
Location not bad-mini golf in centre was entertaining and we found a bar serving 2 for 1 drinks which also had really good entertainment.
Nightmare to try and find resort if hiring car from airport-signs are unclear and sparse.
Beach ok but only small and lots of steps to go down.
Shopping centre is good.
Would consider going back but wouldn’t rush.

This hotel is a disgrace!!!!!DO NOT STAY THERE. I went with my partner and 9 year old daughter. We did not even unpack. We were put in only what I can call a wooden shack. It had no natural light and was absolutely filthy.
The room was very very dated and had not been painted or redecorated in years. It had an awful smell and was dirty and damp. The cooker was rusty and dirty, the fridge had an awful smell and was unhygienic. The bathroom was unacceptable. The toilet was all stained the mirror had never been cleaned and the bath was filthy. The balcony was dirty and the railings all rusty.
Whatever you do do not stay at this hotel. We moved straight away and had to pay an extra £250.00 to stay in another hotel in Calla Dor. Calla Dor was great. Calla de la Mallorca is up on a hill about 30 mins from Calla Dor where all the main activities, bars restauarants etc are. It costs £30.00 euros to get to Calla Dor in a taxi so it would cost you £60.00 a day to travel there and back. There is nothing in this resort and the hotel was appalling. DO NOT GO!!!!!!
