my wife and myself went to the melita apts. on the 12/05/11. for 7 nights. we were a bit apprehensive at first because of all the bad reviews. glad to say everything was fine. ok could maybe do with some updating in the apartments, but they were spotless, with the cleaner on top of her job. the pool had been repaired and was looking great. the staff were all very friendly and helpfull. hopefully this review will be helpfull to others. kevin/mary.

Filthy Apartments

We have been six times to Turkey and this was the worst accomadation by a long way. Apartments filthy. Wet dirty towels, folded by maid and put on bed. Swimming pool un-useable because of dirty green water and a fungus growing around the pool edge. Sunloungers broken, mattresses torn. Bar staff will rip you off at every opportunity. No entertainment, unless you count the loud music from the bar next door. Personal possessions were stolen from room. Management and staff, unfriendly and very unhelpful. Stay away from these filthy dirty apartments. Enjoy Turkey, enjoy Icmeler but from a different Hotel or Apartment. Bad reviews on the Icmeler Online website are removed.

We stayed at the Melita for 2wks in september(2010)and were very dissapointed. The apartments are large but dated and there is certainly no sea view from any balcony.Wet towels are replaced on beds every day and loo rolls are not replaced and you have to ask at reception for one every time! The pool area is dirty and never swept or cleaned and the sunbed covers are torn with foam exposed, the sun goes down in the pool area about 3pm. There is no atmosphere at the bar and drinks were added to our bar tab so pay cash if you decide to drink there. The apartments are very central to town and only 2 mins from the beach so it's a shame they are so badly run.We booked with icmeleronline but when we tried to put a customer review on their site it was removed within minutes,i guess they don't like bad reviews!!We would not advise staying here unless dramatic improvements are made.

After numerous holidays to Icmeler, this is by far the worst accommation we have ever stayed in. Firstly, we arrived only to be told there were no apartments for us because of over-booking. We were sent elsewhere for 2 days, a small dark room which was depressing. When we eventually got our apartment at the Melita I wish I could report positive comments, however, this was not the case. The furniture was very tatty, dirty and threadbare and when we opened the sofa bed there was fluff, hair and old food covering it. Rooms need re-painting as it was all very tired looking. The hard towels supplied and bed linen were badly stained and only changed once weekly and management wouldn't change them any more frequently when asked to do so. Instead of changing the towels, they would fold them and put them on the bed wet this made the bed damp and when you came to dry yourself, found the towels wet from the day before. Toilet rolls were not replaced. The shower cubicle was a disgrace, the grouting stained black, tiles had a scummy film coating over them where they've never been cleaned properly. No shower door so bathroom flooded when taking a shower and very slippery. Now moving onto the swimming pool which was a disgrace. Dirty green water with black ground in mould all around the edge of the pool. The sun loungers were filthy, don't think they had ever been cleaned with the cushions falling apart. The swimming pool shower was unusable as you had to fight your way through the ivy to get inside. Cosmetics went missing from my room as did money and jewelery (these were locked away) the management were of no help whatsoever and I strongly suspect they were taking the items from the rooms. The hotel is approx 100 metres from the beach but it is the worst part of the beach in Icmeler. The free sunbeds are so close together that you are always in the shade of someone else's umberella and the beach boys are always harrassing you to buy drinks and snacks from them. It's far better to walk 20 minutes further along the beach and pay for the sun beds, only 2.50 lire per bed, and no hassle. For a good holiday in Icmeler, don't use these apartments.

When we arrived, we were told that there was a plumbing problem with our room and it would be ready in 3 days.We were to be moved to the Managers brothers Hotel. We were told by a guest that they were leaving at 9pm the followng day, they had paid extra to keep the room on. The Hotel we were sent to was not even a 1 star, it was just a very small dark room. On talking to the owner of this Hotel we found out he was no relation to the Melita manager and the reason we were sent was because he was over-booked. We did not unpack and the next day went back to the Melita complaining of the hole they sent us to and were given the room being vacated that night. The Melita was supposed to send a taxi to collect us at 10pm, this never arrived so we had to make our own way there. The management lie.Next day other guests were moved away because of over booking. The barman ( Richard Gere) told us he reserved a table for us in the restaurant for the Turkish Night. We told him we did not want to go, we never asked him to book a table but he said as he had booked it we would have to pay £10 each. We told him "Where to get off" If you want to spend money in this Hotel, all staff speak good English, if you complain they only understand Turkish. The room was filthy, sheets and towels had been washed but were badly stained. A piece of chewing gum stuck to the floor was there for the two weeks. The shower head was at the wrong angle, so sprayed the water into the room and not down. Dirty wet towels were not changed but folded and put onto the bed. Dont use more than one roll of toilet paper as this does not get replaced The swimming pool was filthy , a green algae went all around the pool and the walls of the pool were slimey. The sunbed mattresses were badly torn. There was always plenty of sunbeds because nobody would use the pool area. Dont bother with breakfast. a boiled egg, bread, olives, jam and honey that were well past their best. Some of the wifes make up went missing on the first day and on the last night, we noticed our locked suit cases had been opened whilst we were out and £40 English money and jewellery were stolen. We thought about calling the police but as we were leaving very early the next morning we thought the Hotel would deny it and it would be a complete waste of time. We have been to Icmeler before it is a beautiful place but this hotel has put us off. If this review has put one person off it of the Melita Apartments it has been worth it. Please go to Icmeler and enjoy it BUT NOT THE MELITA APARTMENTS...

Having had our holiday accom changed by travel company, we insisted like for like, so room, b&b & air con. We arrived at 11.30pm to 27 degrees. On arrival at the Melita the Manager refused to give us the air con control although we had it in writing. We spent a very uncomfortable night. The following morning it was sorted. Manager could not speak English (he actually speaks perfect English). The apartments were described as refurbished, if a lick of paint is refurbed then it had been done, the actual apts need updating. There are two maids and we were fortunate to have the 1st class one, she was brill. The other one left people with the same towels for over 5 days. The pool is clean but the sides had not been jet washed at the start of the season so was full of algae. The sun loungers were all ripped with the foam hanging out. We had 3 changes of bar staff in our 2 wks, make your own minds up. The sun goes off the pool at approx 3pm so if your sun worshippers its off to the beach for you. Would I stay again, NO.

Fabulous holiday staying at the Melita Apartments in Icmeler for the 5th year running!!
The apartments are basic but always clean and the pool area is nice with extremely friendly bar and restaurant staff.
the resort itself is beautiful with a lovely clean beach which has designated areas where the sunbeds are free to use.
The nightlife is great and not as intimidating as Marmaris and it has a great atmosphere, perfect for youngsters and families. Don't miss out on the karaoke bar situated practically on the beach at the far end of the town.
If you get an opportunity to go on any trips definitely do the jeep safari and a boat trip but do book through your tour operator, it's worth paying a bit extra to ensure that you travel with a reputable company.
