" Perfect "

This was our 2nd year at Los Lentiscos, we didn't think it possible, but yes, it was even better. OK so the rooms are basic but how much time do you spend in your room. We were out first thing round the pool, down at the various beautiful coves in the afternoon, in the pool playing volleyball late afternoon, out in the many great restaurants and bars on an evening then in the Lentiscos bar late to watch the entertainment provided by the brilliant Simon. That man does not realise just how funny he is, he manages to amuse the adults and as for the kids, he is the pied piper of Menorca. Glorious weather for the whole 2wks, the castaway cruise is great, bit expensive though, but a whole day cruising and visiting glorious sandy beaches. Haiti was the boys favourite place to eat. My boys are already nagging to book for our 3rd year so at 14 and 16 it must have something!! Oh well only 50 weeks to wait.

Advice: Ladies, be prepared to put on weight

Activities: Eat at Haiti and breakfast at Castaways, take a trip into Cuitadella

" Fabulous "

This holidaqy at los lentiscos was one of the best holidays we have had. The hotel reception staff were very friendly, the room was basic but spotless with the maid service excellent, we had a kettle that broke while we were there no problem changed it straight away. We had a second floor apartment with a pool view which was excellent. Next we met simon the head entertainer or should I say the only entertainer! He was so funny with his dry sense of humour he had everybody laughing. As we went self catering we used to go for a meal in the evening of which we recommend Castaway and also the pizzaria which is near the roundabout, then we would go back for the happy hour at the lentiscos which was between 8-9 then simon would start the entertainment of which he did bingo then a quiz and one night he did a spot of singing which was funny especially when he forgot the words! I must admit he was a big part of our holiday because he is a perfect entertainer. We also visited cuitadella and had a day at cala n bosh of which I recommend the bus ride to go there worthwhile. We don't usually go back to the same resort but we would definately book this one at the los lentiscos again but only if simon was still there. Keep up the good work

" fabulous "

just returned from los lentiscos stayed for 10 nights wish it had been longer. Everything about the hotel was superb. Room spotless with excellent maid service, the reception staff very friendly and helpful. We had fantastic weather apart from one morning with a few drops of rain, of which Simon the head entertainer(the only entertainer) did a dance round the pool with an umbrella to "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" Simon that was so funny! He actually was a big part of our holiday with his dry sense of humour so funny. The resort itself was beautiful we tried many restaurants of which we liked Castaways as one and the pizzaria near the roundabout was another. I would definately recommed these apartments as one of the best we have stayed in basic but clean, and as for Simon well what else can I say thanks for shouting my bingo numbers Keep up the good work

" Los Lentiscos "

We had a one bedroom apartment and it was spacious and clean. The kitchen area had basic equipment but everything you would need. We had a good sized dining table and 4 chairs, plus a comfy sofa which could convert into a bed. The bedroom was a good size too with plenty of hanging and shelf space. The balcony overlooked the pool and got the sun all day.
Maid service was good, staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. On our first full day we found the fridge wasn't working, and we went down to reception to tell them. Within 15 minutes the maintenance guy came up, took away the fridge and replaced it with a new one. And this was on a Sunday!
The location is very good, with shops, bars and restaurants really close by. The bus to Ciutadella stops right outside the apartments.
We particularly liked the Cafe P'nent just round the corner from Los Lentiscos in Cala Blanes. Lovely Spanish food, you can just have tapas or a full meal. Cool music, beautiful views out over the Med, a nice chilled out place to go for a drink or to eat.
In the main drag in Cala 'n' Forcat we liked a bar called Bar Ba Blu, very friendly service and you can just watch the world go by.
Ciutadella is worth a visit or two (or more)with lots of cobbled side streets, a magnificent cathedral, and lovely bars and cafes. Plenty of nice squares too with palm trees. The harbour part is worth walking down to. Everywhere was very clean and the locals really friendly and nice. There is an outdoor market in the main square on Fridays and Saturdays and I bought some nice things there. There is also a butcher's and fish market too, you have to explore a bit to find them, but the quality and value is worth it.

Advice: Explore, there are things off the beaten track. Lots of little sandy coves.

Activities: Cafe P'nent, Bar Ba Blu, Cituadealla

" The Place To Be "

Having just got back from our family holiday, I can not recommend the apartments enough to people. They were clean and quiet, ideal for people with young children. The resort itself offers many things for old and young. You don't see the Thomas Cook reps much, but Simon made up for this by getting the people around the pool involved in the activities, but also knowing when to leave you be.
Our holiday was made by the entertainment that was put on during the day, which involved french boules, celebrity darts, various pool games, quizzes, volleyball and armageddon. There was something for both the adults and children amongst us.
As for the evening entertainment, well that was all down the the entertainment manager Simon, he really is the backbone of the place and without the constant attention to detail that he has and the happy-go-lucky attitude that he has about the place, the holiday wouldn't have been half as great as it was. There were daily bingo sessions, quizzes, giant Jenga and much more. The highlight of my evening entertainment was the cabaret evening where Simon does his own show, and an excellent version of Mika, Take That and various others, with some comedy thrown in there too. He was nervous about this show, but I promise you it was well worth watching and he was excellent.
Thanks for a great holiday, and if Simon stays there for another year, we will definitely be returning there again next year, and hope to see some of those that were there this year back there again.

" Simon, Simon, Simon........ "

Just arrived back from a week at the Los Lentiscos Apartments. They are basic but clean with very helpful staff. Calan Forcat beach close by is excellent for swimming with the fishes (only little ones) jumping from the rocks and hunting in the rockpools, very picturesque. The supermarket across the road is well stocked and friendly. Maxi's with it's superb setting was disappointing for dinner, maybe just a jug of Sangria whilst watching the sunset would have been better. If you walk up the main road through the blue arch there is an excellent restaurant call L'Ancorra - superb service, excellent food and great barbecue. Simon the entertainer made this holiday memorable for the family, we are not usually ones to join in organised activites but we all loved the water volleyball and Armageddon by the pool by day and were dazzled by his new bingo machine by night! Simon is fantastic with adults and children alike and there is no pressure to join in the fun.
The apartments were noisy during the night due to the young Spanish who stayed there while the Festival of St Joan (the horse festival) was going on in Cuitadella, any other week of the year would have been fine!
I do have to agree with other reviews that a few more towels would have been good, we had two apartments with three people in each and could have done with more towels.
Two of our girls loved it so much they are planning to return later in the summer.

Advice: The beach was very picturesque

Activities: L'Ancorra great for dinner

" definetly going again "

just got back from cala,n forcat . myself my partner and my 11year old son lil chris. stayed at the los lentiscos apartments.very clean rooms, basic but everyhing you need is there. Loved the location of the hotel(near the beaches, shops, bars and restaurants).
But the best part of our holiday was meeting simon the entertainer. From the minute we got there he had us laughing, all the kids loved him, and the adults too. He provided good entertainment through out the day by the poolside, and in the evening with bingo quizzes and giant jenga, also he performed his cabaret singing songs that all the family enjoyed.
my favourite was the bingo, i dont think simon actually realises how funny he is when he is calling the numbers out ( very funny).
we also met some really nice people who i am sure will stay in contact with for a long time to come.
thank you los lentiscos for giving me and my family a brilliant holiday, but most of all for having the sense to employ simon as the entertainer.
hope to see you soon (connie, connie, connie, connie) lolx

" A great holiday "

Just arrived back from two weeks at Los Lentiscos. The apartments are basic but comfortable but what makes it stand out is the entertainment. Simon is an excellent entertainer and provides a variety of entertainment throughout the day. He is excellent with both children and adults. He befriends people very quickly and knows when to chat or when to leave people with their sunbeds! Armageddon and water polo are excellent activities to join in with during the day.
The highlight of the holiday had to be the entertainment at night and I am sure Simon and his new bingo machine will become a legend throughout the island!! Although we were there for two weeks, the entertainment was in no way repetative. We were very lucky and shared our holiday with some really lovely people. If Simon is still there next year, we will be back!
Miles.

" A great holiday had by all of us "

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Los Lentiscos, our family of 2 adults and children 8 and 10 really enjoyed ourselves. The apartments were clean, basic but everything you need, the general hotel site was very clean, the pool lovely and spotlessly clean. There were plenty of sunbeds, and space for everyone. Simon our entertainer, was great, he has I see many excellent comments to his credit on here and they are well deserved. Not in your face at all (you could have totally ignored the entertainment if you wished) but he created fun events for all the family, that my son Michael in particular could not wait to join in, we too enjoyed all the evening entertainment, quizzes, etc. Los Lentiscos is great but Simon is its backbone.
The hotel staff were good, but i would add the same complaint as others not enough toilet rolls and towels... although changed religiously every three days along with bed linen. The towels particularly were just not adequate for a family of 4 who were constantly in and out of pools, showers etc.
As to its situation, there was a lovely cove beach 5 mins walk away, with great swimming, and lots of fish, very picturesque... same distance to all the resort shops, bars, water park, bouncy castles etc. local supermarket 50yards away.
One bit of advice i would give is to hire a car (we found an offer of 5 days for 95 euro very reasonable, avis as recommended by thomas cook, was very dear) the island is well worth looking over, fantastic beaches to explore.... also we shopped in lidl in cuitadella, and saved a fortune on the local supermarkets (who also did not have much choice - imagine a 'spar' type of shop back in england).
The thomas cook boat trip 1 day from cuitadella was great and good value.
All in all we had a great time, the weather was fantastic, mid 30's all the time, and we would definately go back.

" Had a great time "

We really enjoyed stay at the Los Lenticos apartments. 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 7 there was plenty to do at the resort. A very picturesqe cove 3 mins walk away a waterpark 10 mins down the road and lots of family friendly bars/restaurants that don't hassle you, made for a relaxing holiday. The accomadation at the Los Lenticos was well thought out, the apartments are grouped around a lovely clean pool with a bar area and games room in the shade. The decor in the apartments are a little dated but everything you needed was there microwave, fridge, kettle etc. Although the pull out beds were a bit uncomfy. The children really liked the entertainer, Simon he was friendly and not to in your face, had lots of activities to keep old and young amused day and night. Didn't see much of the Thomas Cook rep and she didn't have alot of info on the resort except for the excursions for sale. Overall we found all the staff very friendly and helpful we were made to feel very welcome and had a really enjoyable stay. We would definately recommend this to our friends.

Advice: A family resort very pretty coves and a variety of friendly restaurants.

Activities: Waterpark and Pirates cove were lovely. Ciutadella town was easy to get to and worth the short trip

" Hill family holiday "

have just returned from our fith time in menorca and as always had a wonderful time we stayed in the los lentiscos appartments where we have stayed now 3 times and found it consistently good .on arrival the apparment was spotless. and check in was easy .we took our 2 boys aged 12 & 14 and they find the pool area excellent . linen was changed once and the towells twice even though it was bank holiday . simon the entertainer was a cheerful guy who always had a greeting and smile but wasnt too in your face to join in the events the boys loved the volley ball and water armagedon!!we normally hire a car to tour menorca but just felt we wanted to relax this week and thats certainly what we got the small beach/ cove is great for snorkeling although had a mass of jellfish on one day. my only gripe about the appartments would be that the supermarket on sight wasnt open even though they were advertising it (but there is one close by ) also the safety deposit boxes are in reception and are tiny . but these are minor gripes .cala forcat offers a good range off restarants and super markets without beint too commercialised. grrrrrrt holiday

Advice: clean , good food at reasonable prices . great for families

Activities: maxis bar where you can have a real shirley valentine moment watching the sun go down

Good for: Beach
