Just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel.Although staff were lovely, as were the gardens, rooms are very basic, and the noise at night was awful. People were coming in at all hours and the bar stayed open as long as people could drink, sometimes up to 3,4 5 and 6 in the morning.A nearby mosque called people to prayer via loudspeaker at 4.45 a.m. every morning, so by the end of 2 weeks I was seriously suffering from sleep deprivation. Not suitable for older people at all. Brownicle, a very disappointed guest.

Strangers are just Friends You've yet to meet.

I've just spent another Fab Week at Forever Hotel with Solos.
The hotel is a small family run hotel with 19 rooms which is currently exclusive to Solos holidays.
The gardens are pristine with gorgeous rose bushes, and everywhere is clean. There's always plenty of sunloungers for everyone during the day, and if you want a change there's always the hammocks or swinging chair, or my favourite the bench covered in cushions which is like lying in bed all day :)
Both visits I've felt perfectly comfortable on my own, and these holidays have really brought home to me the phrase strangers are just friends you've never met.
Contrary to other reviews, if you're looking for a peaceful and quiet holiday I wouldn't necessarily recommend the Forever hotel, Let me clarify - due to the proximity of the bar to the hotel any noise can echo round the hotel in the evenings, especially if people are looking to sit outside the bar till the early hours of the morning. Also there are a couple of mosques very close to the hotel which you can occasionally hear at 5am (depending on how light you sleep). Although saying that during the day you can't find a more relaxing location and I've spent the most chilled out week sitting by the pool by day and out with friends and partying in Hisaronu in the evenings - which is only a 15 minute walk away.
The popularity of the hotel shows when you see the number of previous visitors who are staying in the area come to visit the family during the stay (as hotel is now exclusive to solos they only take single travellers).
The food in the hotel is to die for - and is on a par price wise with other restaurants in the area, as with the rest of Turkey the hotel do ask that you don't bring food and drink into the hotel, but with no fridge in the room it's easier to buy from the hotel. Ask Aysel for the Chicken Curry on your final night - mmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhh!!!!
Big thank you to Aysel, Baz and the rest of the family for a Fab holiday yet again - hopefully see you again next year!!!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here at the forever hotel in August and would love to go back next year, Its location is perfect less that 10 mins to hisaronu town and close to bus stops etc, we booked all tours in town as its cheaper that booking with the rep,
The gardens and pool is lovely and cleaned every day, the rooms are spotless bathrooms are a little small but not too small, air conditioning is quite, there is a small charge for the air conditioning, but the hotel is reasonable, so we was happy to pay, Rose is lovely, they all are so helpful and nice, and would do anything for there guests, the cleaner is also very sweet please don't forget to give her a tip.
There is wireless internet connection here so you can bring laptops, and there is NO Mosquito's, we didn't get bitten even once they spray every branch on every tree they are very thorough,
I would definitely recommend this hotel and anyone who doesn't enjoy there stay at the forever hotel must be mad,

Not So Clever Forever

I have just returned from a week's holiday with 2 male friends and 1 female friend at the forever hotel, and can honestly say that we were disappointed with the reception we were given. Starting with the positive notes, the hotel itself is set in beautiful grounds with immaculately kept gardens, a 'refreshing' swimming pool, sun loungers, and hammocks which we found perfect for relaxing and watching the stars at night. our rooms were small, though i could not say what other rooms sizes were like because we were situated in the basement (which we affectionately named 'the dungeon'). to anyone who would like to stay here i would recommend that you ask for a room with a balcony as the basement rooms were stuffy and had very little daylight. you can opt to pay for air con at a cost of approx 50lira for 1 week, but we were reluctant to hand over any unnecessary payments - the reception from the staff was cool enough (see later notes). the room's shower cubicles were also very small - you could barely stretch your arms out and there was never hot water until the evening (oh yes and it floods the bathroom because its so small).
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, but breakfast was basic.. bread, cucumber, watermelon, feta etc, and so we found ourselves opting for a full english each day from the 'chill out bar' which is only a 5 minute walk. hisaronu itself is a 10 minute walk (approx 8 lira in a taxi) and is well worth the journey for eating out and its family friendly atmosphere. forever is ideally located, only a 5minute walk to hisaronu and close to dolmus bus stops for the beach, fethiye etc.
All in all the hotel is a cosy choice and ideal if you are only looking for the basics, but would score better reviews if its owners had not been so judgemental and hostile towards our party. we were looking for an intimate laid back hotel away from the party scene, which forever does provide. but as the majority of guests were married couples and we were young, we felt that the staff at forever had been branded as 'trouble makers' before our holiday had even begun. Upon our arrival, the owner Rose was kind enough to introduce herself to us and offer advice of the area and info on excursions (be careful though, shop around in hisaronu - we got the idea that shes working on commission).
Rose requested that food and drink from outside the premises were prohibited, which we interpreted as alcohol and take aways and readily agreed to abide by this. however when she saw that we had bought water bottles from 'the outside' after our exhausting 12hour journey to the hotel, she did not hesistate to lose her temper (quote - 'i warned you, you do not listen, go away!'). i cannot help but feel that if we had been an older couple we would have been spoken to with a little more courtesy. From then on we were ignored by Rose, though her sister was extremely friendly. Needless to say we considered this attitude as another ploy for profit - we bought large bottles of water for 1 lira from the newsagent opposite the hotel, whereas rose charged 4 lira for a bottle the same size. snacks and meals are also cheaper and of better quality in the town of hisaronu.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday, the area itself is a fantastic place for all ages but we could not help but think that the forever hotel should be renamed the forever boot camp. nevertheless we took it all in good humour and it did not spoil our holiday.

  • Advice: Learn to be firm with pushy sellers - they dont understand hints

The Forever Hotel, Ovacik, provided us with a comfortable, relaxed, clean and enjoyable base for our first holiday to the area. One of our main concerns when deciding on a hotel was the quality of the food, as we had planned to go half board in an attempt to save money. As we were intending on a two week stay, we placed much emphasis on this, concerned that meals would be basic, repeated and of a low standard. Thankfully the food at the Forever Holiday could not be described as any of those! It was exactly what we were looking for, providing us each night with a delicious three course meal. The food is always fresh and you can often get a glimpse of the hard work put in by the staff as they prepare the ingredients in the spotless kitchen. The portion size is generous, highlighted by our surprise when receiving our main course during our first dinner – we assumed the starter was our main meal because of its size! Be aware, however, that you do not get a choice of meals when going half board, but we found that the mix of traditional Turkish and Western meals (not as one meal!) were of a higher standard than elsewhere in Hisaronu, and therefore would certainly recommend the half board option. Additionally, the breakfast is traditional and consistent; feta cheese, watermelon, bread and honey etc. There are enjoyable snacks and lighter meals available throughout the day, most of which are of a competitive value, and good quality.
Although there are many excursions available in the area, we decided to forgo these opportunities in favour of a more relaxing holiday, and for this we would need sun, a selection of books, and a swimming pool. Therefore, we were extremely happy with the pool area at the hotel, which was quiet and clean. The cushioned sunbeds were always available, and offered great sunbathing. The pool is of a reasonable size, especially in comparison to other hotels we noticed in the area, and suitable for those wishing to lie back on a lilo or those wishing to swim some lengths. The breeze offered by the hotel’s location is fantastic and is even more appreciated after walking and exploring during the midday heat in Hisoronu. The hotel’s garden is a great feature and is beautifully kept. This also allows for different seating and a chance to move away from the pool area (and the girlfriend!) from time to time. The pool and gardens both look lovely lit up at night, and there is no better place to have a relaxing beer than on one of the hammocks.
The rooms at the hotel are probably on the basic side, but comfortable and reasonably sized. Air-conditioning is available at an additional cost of around £3 per day, and the majority of rooms have a balcony. I would recommend asking for a balcony, but do not let this put you off if there is not any available. The maid is lovely and ensures that your room is always thoroughly cleaned.
The hotel’s location provides a beautiful view of the sunset and mountains. It is a short walk to Ovacik, with its strip of bars, barbers and newsagents. A 10-15 minute walk will take you Hisoronu, but there are also buses available. The walk is pleasant though and provides you with a good chance to take a sneaky look into other hotels!
The staff at the hotel are absolutely lovely, and work so hard to ensure you enjoy your holiday. In contrast to one review, I found that the staff never once placed pressure on ourselves or other guests to stay at the hotel in the evenings. We always got a nice wave and goodbye when heading out for drinks, but we would often end up back at the hotel for a late night beer or cocktail just because of the hotel’s bar and gardens. Basically, the staff are there to chat to, have a laugh with, and ask advice, but they never impose.
It appears that many guests return to the Forever Hotel, and I would like to think that I will be one of them.

  • Advice: Not as frantic as Hisaronu, but near enough to visit. Great for relaxation.

the forever hotel is a family run hotel who are wonderful hosts and make you feel part of things right away, rose and aiysha have such a good sense of humor they keep you laughing all the time, but the whole family make your stay very enjoyable, the hotel is small but kept nipping clean the family are always cleaning and polshing, the family try their best to keep people entertained and you can also book trips through them, i would recommend the forever hotel to anyone but dont expect a five star hotel, rooms are basic but very clean the treatment you get is five star.
ps. their meze and turkish nights are memorable i will certainly return.

My partner and I stayed at the Forever Hotel during July, it was 'okay' but we were not sad to leave.
Okay, so there are some definite plus points- beautiful gardens which are very well kept, a lovely maid who does an amazing job on the rooms every 2 days, gorgeous clean pool.
However, I did not feel comfortable or relaxed during our stay. It feels like the owners 'monitor' their guests- they seemed to know far too much about when we were in, when we went out- even commenting on why we were in our room for so long on one occasion.
No water/food is allowed on the premises unless this is bought from them. Obviously the food rule can be understood, but we still bought our own water as this is a ridiculous rule 'sneaking'in water is just a silly thing to have to do when you are supposed to be having a relaxing holiday. They were certainly keen for people to eat in their restaurant, over keen, and I am sure I am not the only one to be made to feel a little uncomfortable with this. I did not feel that we could come and go as we liked.
One early evening we decided to just get burger and chips. It was disgusting- my boyfriend ordered a chicken burger and received what looked like soggy spam. Everyone comments on the 'family feel' to the stay, but this just made it feel like you didn't want to complain. Needless to say we didn't try anything else.
It is such a shame, I really held out high hopes for this stay. The hotel is beautiful, garden and pool are very well kept. Some of the staff are great, others are just too personal and overbearing.

Where do i start.I have now been on holiday to Turkey 13 times, and this ranks right up there as one of the best!I ended up going on my own,but that didnt last long! After a 12 hour,(3.5 hour delay at Gatwick)door to door journey,i arrived at the Forever at about 9am.I was met by a smiling Mehmet, who took my bag to my room, and made sure i came straight down for breakfast. As the surroundings are so beautiful,i decided to fight sleep and sit around the pool.In the afternoon,i strolled into Hisaronu(15 minutes)along the back road, and enjoyed a pint or 4 of Efes!I decided to catch the Dolmus back, but realised that this went along the main Fethiye road, and i totally lost my bearings!(good stuff that Efes).I popped into a small car rental place for directions, and the chap walked into his office(presumably to get a map)and returned with a crash helmet, and told me to hop on the back of his scooter, where he then took me straight to the front door of the hotel!Believe me,this is typical of the wonderful Turkish people.
After a couple more,i went up to get changed, and came down 12 hours later!Thats when the holiday really started.I met some wonderful people,Dan and Sarah,Nicky and Nat,Christian and Kate,Alan and Amanda(see Amandas report further down)Mark and Caroline,Kim and John,Luke and Rebecca, and ended up having many a great and boozy night out with these guys.Mehmet,Bas,Rose,Isell, and Bas's mum,the Gordon Ramsey of Ovacik must take a lot of the credit as they run such a wonderful small hotel with smiles on their faces(most of the time)even after working unbelievably long days. The rooms are basic, but exceptionally clean. If you want a TV and Fidge,go to the Hilton! The music played round the pool during the day was perfect, and not earbursting. If you arrive with a smile on your face, you will leave with a smile! If anyone is in doubt about how much i enjoyed this holiday,i am just about to book another week in September(if they have any bookings left!.)Message to Mehmet-Was that ok?Can i still have that free holiday you promised if i wrote this!*:0)

My friend and I have just returned from our stay at the Forever Hotel and are not normally one for writing reviews but thought we wanted to say how lovely our stay was at this hotel. We arrived at 4am in the morning after a long day travelling and were greeted by Mehmet who made checking a breeze. The room was lovely and clean. We cannot fault the cleanliness of the room and the facilities in general. The pool is lovely, the food was very nice, but most of all the staff were so friendly. They made our holiday. Rose, Isel, Barhi, Mehmet, Harry and Fiona all really tried very hard to please their guests and it is clear why guests return every year. They make you feel so at home. The area is lovely, Ovacik is not far away and got a few nice restaurants. Hissaronu is a bit further and a bit more lovely. We went to Fethiye one night to the fishmarket where you can pick your own fish and the restaurant will cook it for you which was very nice! Oludeniz is also very nice and all these places are easy accessible by the Dolmus. All in all we had a fantastic holiday, we met great people, had an amazing time at this hotel and we can't wait to return next year!

As I use these reviews myself I thought that it was fair that I left one too. Just got back yesterday from a fun 10 days. We arrived in the evening and Rose explained about the hotel, I was sruggling with my heavy case and Bahri was there staight away to carry to our room. The room was very clean and was very cool of an evening, air conditioning is available at an extra cost but was not needed. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every other day and plenty of clean towels were available and also changed every other day. There were a cracking bunch of other guests that quickly spoke to us, unfortunately most of them went home a few days after we had arrived. If you have a problem with the room it is sorted straight away, no need to buy your own toilet roll, I understand other hotels make you buy your own. Always hot water, but i prefer a cool shower in the heat. We only made breakfast once, due to the late nights but always ate there in the day, the food is lovely and generous sizes. Try the evening menu too and the Turkish special. There is a lovely breeze in the day, due to it being slightly in the hills. The gardens are immaculate, look out for Lilly and Martin, two tortoises that visit. Focus is the best company to book trips with, very trusted out there, jeep safari is a must and fantastic value for money. Hisaronu is a 10 min walk, but its slightly up hill on the way back, recommend a taxi, ask them to put meter on, 4-5 lira. Plently to do down there. The family can't do enough for you, they all work extremly hard, especially Mehmet, who was often drinking with us till late and was always up to clean the pool everyday at 6am. Guney, Mehmets son had his 10th birthday whilst we were out there and the family shared the cake with all the guests, he also got a puppy called Jake, who is adorable.
I drink Barcardi and this is not a local drink, imported. The hotel was actually the cheapest for this. Yes some drinks are more expensive than the shop, but it's just like any pub in Britain and to be expected. The bars in Hisaronu are the same. Some people were trying to take crates of beer into the hotel, of course they are not going to allow it, due to it being BB/Half board.
Overall we had a great time and are keeping in touch with the family through Facebook, I can see why so many people return each year. I would return, which we have only ever said about one other hotel.
