Los Omeyas Hotel

I spent 4 great nights here and could not believe it was so inexpensive. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quiet, with night lamps, effective heater, clean bathroom with hot water, cable TV and comfortable bed. From the tradional wooden doors onto the little balcony, one could open the top portion as windows. The first day I heard an odd noise outside and it was a donkey walking by. The best part of this hotel is its proximity to the mosque, just steps away. It seems to be a well-meaning place with a nice staff, but we found it a bit gloomy. Getting into our room we took a bath that wound up somehow flooding the entire bathroom--must have been a leak in the plumbing. They called up frantically from the desk, where it was dripping in, and moved us to another room, but they were okay about it (of course, it wasn't our fault). We stayed one night at Los Omeyas and were thrilled by the location and the service. Our room was clean, spacious and not overcrowded even with the extra cot we had requested. The Bathroom was also spotless with lots of hot water. Parking was an adventure but our vehicle was quite secure in the underground lot. The service was great - our host was charming and we chatted about Spain, Canada and the time he had spent in New York. Booked this hotel after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. The rooms/bathrooms are clean and well presented. It is extremely well located for the Mezquita which is a sight not to be missed. It is a truly amazing place unlike anything I have seen before. Do get the Audioguide it is very informative. The Los Omeyas is a family run hotel and the two daughters, Paqui and Marilo who we met where really lovely, very friendly and charming. Paqui also speaks good english. Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff (especially to find the car park!). Our room was off the central courtyard which was very well decorated and tiled. Breakfast was included and served in the courtyard. Excellent location for visiting the Mosque and other attractions on foot. Located adjacent to the Mosque walls down a tiny side street it is quite hard to find. Rooms were spacious & well furnished with excellent en-suite facilities.

I stayed at the Los Omeyas in late February 2005. It is small and neat. Marble floors and stairways. The staff is pleasant and the rooms are clean and adequately spacious. It is located in a hard to find but extremely interesting and picturesque part of Corboda. There are plenty of wonderful bars and restaurants located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. For the price I think it is a terrific value.

Our ground-floor room one night in mid-October 2004, faced a nice interior courtyard, had three twin beds for the two of us, and was, I think, a very good value (64 euros), considering especially its location so close to the Mezquita. As noted by other posters, the parking that is provided is some distance away from the hotel. There was a good deal of plumbing noise during the night. Breakfast wasn't anything to shout about, but the price was less than we paid at most hotels in Spain. I'd stay here again

my family and i stayed at this hotel while visiting cordoba. It was clean and a pleasure to stay in. Aswell as being located in a convenient place. The staff were friendly and helpful. will definately stay again

As I was informed by the hotel manager (who is a wonderful character and speaks a gazillion different languages), there is no view from anywhere in the hotel. Our room was spartan and dark, but very clean. It had very little personality, and was not a place you want to spend any time. It did have a nice courtyard and beautiful art in the public spaces.
