Maimonides Hotel

Across the street from the Mesquita (although so is almost every hotel in Cordova). The hotel is newly renovated and the interior is beautiful. Most members of hotel staff didnt speak much English, but thats not so uncommon in Spain.

Our trip panned out so that we spent a Friday and Saturday night here. Being the weekend we knew that accommodation becomes scarce so I started to look a couple of days before but had trouble finding anywhere. We eventually found the Hotel Mamonides whose front entrance faced onto the wall of the north west corner of the Mezquita. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during Sept 2007. This was a great hotel to stay in while in Cordoba. The location was excellent. All historic sites are within easy walking distance. The accommodations were modern and clean. We had a room with 2 beds. The room and bathroom were newly remodeled. It overlooked a quiet street and was very quiet while sleeping, even with the air conditioner running. Many restaurants and tapas bars were in easy walking distance. As everyone has said, it is in a prime location on the corner of the Mesquita. The hotel is on the corner of the street that houses the main Tourist Office The room itself was fine and the bathroom clean The staff were helpful I agree with the reviewer who said it is full of tourist traps around the old town. However if you go up to new town's main square there are plenty of good places around there, including the oldest pub in Cordoba .Sorry I can't remember its name but it was packed with locals at night. Visited July 8-9 2007 with children and my mother (70+). Very nice hotel: - clean - attractive - great location - reaturant (dinner) in patio was fine - service was ok - breakfast buffet is a bit pricey and service was a bit cold - better go to the adjacent cafe - pay parking (no other way to park) - friendly staff The hotel is not hard to find but better to call them to get exact directions to save a lot of frustrating driving down narrow one way streets. I would definitely go back.

Stayed here for one night ,travelling alone to see Cordoba. This hotel is all about location and for that it can`t be faulted and it has the added bonus of underground parking next to it which is a real bonus in this city. It is a few steps from the Cathedral,in the Mezquita and after all ,if you`re coming to Cordoba,that`s what you`re coming to see so it`s perfect for that. The location cannot be beat, and there was underground parking directly next door. (The parking was a little tight, so we had a little difficulty getting the car out). Our room was tiny, but comfortable. We were only there one night, so it was bearable, but I cannot imagine staying in that room for much longer. After reading many positive reviews, we decided to book 3 nights at this hotel for a stop in Cordoba. The location is very good if all you are interested in is the Mezquita and surrounding touristy area. We had many problems upon arrival, and actually checked out a day early because we were so miserable here! The Maimonides has a great location right at the corner of the Mezquita next to the bell tower. You have to drive thru a pedestrian zone around the Mezquita and about 3 police barricades to get there and then wait at the garage entrance for someone to check your reservation. Parking is 11.87eu per day. The lobby and restaurant are nicely designed and the reception staff speaks good English but are quite slow. The location was my main reason for staying here. It's right in front of the Mezquita, and near great restaurants and souvenir shops. It's also a short walk (maybe 5 min) from the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. It's not too far of a walk from other shopping areas and Plaza de las Tendillas. The room was very clean.
