The Innkeepers lodge are a good place...

The Innkeepers lodge are a good place to stay, the accommodation is clean and warm, and the complimentary breakfast is excellant with a good choice and eat as much as you like. It is very resonably priced and if you book for a Friday you get Sunday night free. You also get a free newspaper every morning. The staff were all pleasant and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. A Toby carvery is part of the pub and at £5 the carvery meal was excellant.
Birmingham and the bull ring ,and the Black country museum are just a short ride away, and the Merry hill shopping center is well worth a visit. We would visit again or same at a differant location.

This hotel is part of a chain group...
7 / 10
Feb 2006, Miss A Timms

This hotel is part of a chain group that has built hotels next to pub food chains such as Vintage Inns and Toby Carverys. In the case of Chester NE it is a Toby Carvery and is a two mile drive from Chester City Centre.
They have a good online booking service and are usually based just outside main towns and can offer a reasonable room rate, with breakfast to compete with Travelodges and the other chains.
When you arrive you check in at the pub and will be given your key and directions to the room. You can use the facilities of the bar and restaurant for the usual charge. The room was quite large with a decent sized bathroom. The weather was cold so we were glad to find that the room (if not the bathroom) was well heated.
The rooms all have TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities, and as well as a large, comfy bed have a desk, wardrobe and an armchair. The room was also very clean and looked as if it had been recently refurbished, with traditional style furniture rather than the fitted veneer units you find in similar establishments.
The breakfast is an extensive continental style buffet with breads, croissants, cereals, fruit etc plus some hot food.
When you leave you just need to pop your key in the box and go.
These types of hotel are excellent if you need to break up a long journey or need somewhere to stay close to friends, but this particular one is only accessible by car and you cannot explore the local area if you do not have your own transport.
