Just a dump on a backside street
from A TripAdvisor Member
Just came back from Athens - May31,2004. Spent 3 nights in this hotel. What a disaster! The hotel and it's location! Rooms are small and dusty. Old and dirty bed covers! Bed is hard as a rock and small. Bathroom has a bathtub of 1/2 size of a normal one with no curtain! Paint on walls is falling out....Hope you get the picture. Location: we were scared to step outside the hotel! It's a backside street with prostitutes, drinking and screaming people and sex cinemas....! On top of all that - I had my $300 glasses stolen from the room! The only positive thing I can think of: receptionist was nice.
Cheap and Cheerful

Just returned from 4 nights here - it's good for the price of 58 Euro for the room and breakfast, inc taxes but minus Air Con (This is an extra). Room was a bit spartan and en-suite had a small bath and shower over with no curtain but we managed without too much leakage! Aircon would be desirable in summer I would imagine! Location was fine for us, near Omonia metro. Unfortunately it seems all the pavements in Athens centre are being renewed, along with all the Olympic building work, so until August expect dust and dirt everywhere you go (and notice how much more often you sneeze as a result) Breakfast was basic: juice (orange), cereal (cornflake lookalikes), bread, cheese, processed meat, coffee & tea but in a light breakfast room - didn't try the bar but plenty of restaurants and tavernas nearby. A couple of stores for beer/wine/food are very close by. All in all we found it good value for money at only 58 Euros all in for both of us. If you want style and comfort you might find this challenging but if you enjoy saving accommodation costs to put towards the rest of your holiday then this must be a winner!

Good hotel for the money, although very basic rooms and breakfast. Only a 15 odd minute walk from all the main attractions in Athens, so no need for public transport. The staff were friendly, and were very helpful with directions. Of course, in a city such as Athens, so... more
