The Gleneagles Hotel

I have stayed At Gleneagles on five occasions and the place is just fabulous. This is a five star plus hotel with prices to match. Fortunately I was not picking up the bill! The setting of this hotel is glorious in the middle of the Perthshire hills.
The facilities on site are superb, even for a hotel of this class. How many hotels have you stayed in with its own golf course which is good enough to host the Ryder Cup?
Apart from the golf course the hotel also has putting greens, tennis courts, a spa and shooting grounds. All told the service is as good as you would expect from a hotel like this.
The rooms are huge with most having beautiful views over the hills. They are, as you would expect, very well appointed. The food at the hotel is excellent, but not quite up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel and that is why I am only giving it 9/10. If you have the money and want to be pampered to death then this is the place to come.
