Nethybridge Hotel

My wife and I booked to stay here in July. Walking into the hotel was like going back 30 years in time. It looks like the last time it was decorated was sometime in the 70s - the carpets were worn and shabby, the paintwork chipped and there was a horrible musty smell in the corridors. The lift is one of those death trap cage things that you've no idea if it will make it to your floor. The rooms were badly in need of a refurb - the bathrooms mouldy and water damage on the ceiling. We stayed here for 4 nights for £145 dbb each. The hotel is beautifully situated, plenty of parking, has its own gardens, putting and bowling green. There is a 4 course evening meal and a hearty breakfast provided. Both excellent. The staff were very attentive and there is lots of good walking in the area as well as easy access to the coast and lovely beaches. Al in all we had a great time.

The Nethybridge was the second strathmore hotel we stayed in during our 3 day trip to the highlands. The hotel is very nice and the staff are really friendly...HOWEVER, i probably had a total of 1 hours sleep the entire night what with the creaky bed, creaky floorboards, creaky doors and barking dogs...also the admittedly authentic sash windows didnt close properly, which mean i was both awake AND cold all night! Just returned from a lovely 2 night stay at Nethybridge. The hotel is very imposing in a wonderful little walking village close to Aviemore and the Cairngorms. Very friendly staff and good food made this a very good value for money break.
