Just returned from Pinewood after two fantastic weeks there, the best holiday i have ever had. The apartments are absolutely spotless, so are the grounds and bar area. Maids are lovely and friendly and tidy your room every day. The owners Ibrahim and Semra are lovely and will do anything for you. The waiters at the bar are lovely, courteous and polite and nothing is too much trouble. I would reccomend eating at the restaurant/bar as the food is excellent and cooked to a high standard. The pool area is just big enough, but you'll have trouble finding a bed as most people reserve them even though there are signs saying not to. If you find there are none left have a word with Simon or Joseff at the bar and they will find you one.
Pinewood is ideally located, a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the resort centre. We loved one of the local bars - Deja Vu - great entertainment, friendly staff and plenty for the kids to do while you have a drink. In the centre of icmeler, i would reccomend Noels, next to the Three Bells. Down by the canal the Majestic has an excellent atmosphere and a wide choice of food to choose from, also Venice which is opposite. I am definitely going back to Pinewood, i miss it already. I can't reccomend it highly enough and if you are reading this and are due to go there, then lucky you!!!

Well where to start... This was our first time to turkey and it was the best holiday we have ever had, our holiday started on the 26th june and we arrived at the pinewood apartments at approx midnight, at the gates we were greeted by simon one of the waiters who took our cases and shown us to our room, on entering the room our first impression was "the rooms are a bit pokey" but then we realised there was a fair sized bedroom with a double wardrobe, dresser table and plug sockets.
The first thing we did after that was paid for a saftey deposit box £5 and to have the air conditioning put on at a cost of £35 a week but it was essential as the temperature was 35degrees at midnight, all we were thinking was what would it be in the day! the next morning we went exploring and found some real nice bars a minutes walk from the hotel, Deja Vu being the one we spent most of our holiday in at night, they had loads of entertainment with different acts every night and the lads were brilliant dancers and brilliant with the kids, the beach was a nice 10 - 15 minute stroll away and there was a big supermarket (tansas) about 5 - 10 minutes walk away, the dolmus stop is about 5 minutes walk away which was handy when we wanted to go to marmaris for the day.
All in all the pinewood apartments are very clean the maids are brilliant (did our washing up) aswell as cleaning our shoes and clothes away what we had left lying around, the pool bar was brilliant offering alot of choice you have to try the pancakes with chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce they are amazing!!! the waiters are brilliant, they will do anything for you, they are brilliant with kids aswell. We spoke to the owners who were very helpful and very genuine people, my partner was quite sceptical about going to turkey as was i but after spending 2 weeks in these lovely apartments we are booking to go back for another week in October this year, i can definantly see why people come back to these apartments and turkey as a country. Roll on October :-)

Returned from pinewood apartments 2 weeks ago, what a fantastic holiday, we have been to Icmeler before so didnt expect any big surprises, how wrong I was, staying at the Pinewood Apartments in the old village was like a completely different resort, beautiful setting wonderful views lots of bars & places to eat just on the doorstep, the apartments were fantastic extremely clean we have been going to Turkey for 20 years and these were by far the cleanest we have ever stayed in, the owners and staff are lovely, very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, I would also recommend the food at the apartments.
We went on the village trip which we booked at a shop which is just near Tansas supermarket lovely guy called Jimmy, this is well worth a visit and at only £ 10.00 per adult including lunch it is well worth the money.
Got the boat across to Turung which is in the next bay small beach which is quite rocky but setting beautiful.
All in all a fantastic holiday already looking to book for next year, if you have any special requirements email the owners direct i.e room location
If you have booked to go here you will not be dissapointed, the location is ideal, nice and quiet but only 10 minutes from the front, apartments lovely and clean (wardrobe small but lots of cupboard space).

What are the negatives about the Pinewood Apartments & Turkey NOTHING. Very clean, friendly staff, good food, lovely settings. The apartments are in the old village so there are enough restuarants bars etc to stroll to, or if you want it busier go to the town. The jeep safari is an excellent day trip for two people it cost us about £20. But what fun everyone had you an but a dvd of the day and photos dvd and 4 pics for about £32. We also done the lazy day boat trip - be prepared to be rammed onto a boat with loads of people and you may not get a sun bed the meal is chicken, pasta & salad. Advice go to the harbour in the morning about 9.45 - all boats sail at 10 and pick the least busier one. Both trip where booked via an agent in the town and not the rep. The boat trip if booked direct with the captain its cheaper again. Very safe to walk around at night & day. Go with very little in your case as clothes are cheap and very good copies and they wash up well. Elvis bar is great fun they do a show most nights and they also do an excellent fishbowl cocktail. Caught the boat taxi to Marmis 15 Lira - 30 return excellent way to travel. They likethe English Pound and certain cashpoints you can get English money out. Loads to do & see - EXCELLENT HOLIDAY
NEGATIVES :-_
THE AIRPORT (DALAMAN) ON YOUR DEPARTURE IS VERY EXPENSIVE - BIG MAC Meal £12, KIDS MEAL £9. Take your own food and water as they don't put the air conditioning on.
First Choice Reps/Air stewards useless we had one in the airport called Helen and she just coward when there was a problem with the check in & people wanted answers what did she do she hid behind another rep from a company I have never heard off and couldn't explain what was happening. The air stewards on the First Choice Airline will tell you they take Turkish Lira ( THEY DON'T) we found this out on our return flight when we asked then we then ordered some food luckly enough we had just enough english money for it. There explantion was that the girls have only done 4 flights but if the plane went down they could help you !!!!

We've just come back from 2 brilliant weeks in Turkey. The Pinewood Apartments is a family run business, and everyone was friendly.
The food that they serve here was really good, and they have a BBQ every Sunday, were you can order beforehand what you would like to eat. The rooms were basic, but very clean. The maids came in every day, and linen was changed twice a week. The only thing we wished we had in the room was a toaster.
The main Icmeler resort is about a 10 minute walk from the apartments, but there are some good restaurants around the area. De Ja Vue have very good food, and the waiters start the entertainment around 10pm. We saw Grease, The Spice Girls, Freddie Mercury, and a very small Michael Jackson. Be prepared to get involved though, as they will drag you up.
Honest Jimmy who owns The Garden Restaurant around the corner, seems to have his fingers in lots of pies. If you want to go on any trips, buy jewellery or anything else, ask him first, as he seems to have a brother that does everything.
We did book a boat trip with him, and at 10 pound, it was cheaper than booking with the reps or street sellers (and you got breakfast, dinner and all drinks included). The good thing about staying where we were, was the music had to be turned off at 12, which is a rule by the council, so if you fancy a early night, you won’t get disturbed. But be aware, the Mosque is very close to the apartment, and they call people to come and pray every 2 - 3 hours.
The main centre has more shops, restaurants, and bars you could ever need. We were wary about going to Turkey for the first time, as we had heard stories about the people. But we had a great time, and are looking to book up again next year. Sue and Jamie Norwich.

Have just returned from Icmeler where we stayed at the Pinewood apartments. They were very clean and the staff very friendly.
Pool was clean and the surrounding gardens in immaculate conditions. We had a pool and bar view but were not disturbed with late nights.
Icmeler itself is very clean and nice but the beach was a big disappointment. You could not stay in the water long as you were bitten by fish and the sand and shingle was more of dust and shingle.
Overall a nice holiday and would highly recommend the village tour where you can see the real Turkey, visit inside a mosque and a local school - very interesting.

We are going to stay in Pinewood apartments in august and this will be our 10th time here and i am still excited now as i was the first time.
The hotel is very clean with maid service every day and bed linen changed twice a week. The rooms are basic but you wont be spending a lot of time in them as there is so much to do.
The pool is large and deep with a small pool for the children. Also the grounds are very well kept. The food is out of this world especially if you eat Turkish but you can also eat English as well. The staff can not do enough for you. From the bar staff to the cleaners Joseph, Eunice and Arife will keep your glass filled for you. Ibrahim and Semera will make sure that your stay will be a happy one. Roll on 23rd Aug and we will be there again.
Go on give Pinewood a try I am sure that you will agree with me

Just come back from Pinewood.
Reviews are completely correct - fantastic place,
Niggles first:
Ladies, if you want to dry your hair - it will need to be done in the main room - no plug sockets in the bedroom
Air conditioning is £35 per week - and is a necessity rather than luxury - was 40 in the shade for our two weeks
Sun beds were 'saved' by 8:00 on most mornings - as were the umbrellas - but if you have a word with the staff or owners they will find something for you
Pool is a bit small for entertaining children (i.e. hide and seek and 'dob')
Best bits:
Staff are fantastic - could not do enough for you
Food is excellent - I'm a vegetarian - and they did their up most to ensure I was fed well each day - changing ingredients of a dish was not a problem
Room was in excellent condition - and cleaned every day by cheery cleaners
Nice and close to town centre - eat at the Wayside or Charlie's or Chinese (Peking Dragon??) next to T-Shirt shop for fantastic meals
Book your holiday here - you will not regret it.

First time to Turkey and I was very surprised how clean it was. You would find staff constantly cleaning shops and bars all over Icemeler.
The Pine Wood Apartments located in a quite area,a flat 10 minute walk into centre. The apartments are lovely and clean. Be prepared to pay £35 for air conditioning as it is necessary in the heat, it was 34 C at 9.30 in morning. The rooms are basic but very clean. The only fault was not having a toaster as I like my toast in the morning.
The balcony, which overlooked the pool, was nice to sit out on. There pool is a nice size but be prepared to get up early to reserve a sunbed as they are all reserved by 9 and the good ones by 8 despite notices telling you otherwise.
Food at apartments is excellent, well worth eating there if you want to keep away from the hustle and bustle of Icemeler centre. Icemmeler is very lively but be prepared to be hassled constantly as you walk down the street especially when you first arrive as they notice you with out a suntan.
The staff are very good and there is a small book loan area. The Wonder Boys is a great place to get a drink and some entertainment. Check out Leo who does a very good Tina Turner. Men should get a Turkish shave which uses a flame to get rid of hairs up the nose and in ears, quite an experience. Beaches locally can get crowded but, further afield much more relaxed. Take a boat trip and go swimming in the sea, the water is very warm and clear, good for snorkelling. We went on an excursion to scuba dive were taken to a beautiful beach and spend all day there including lunch

Absolutely fantastic!!! The only way I could possibly describe the fabulous holiday we had in Icmeler. Pinewood apartments are in a lovely, fairly quiet location, but are within easy reach of plenty of great restaurants, gift shops and bars. Pretty basic accommodation, but it was absolutely spotless with maid service every single day.
The staff at Pinewood were very welcoming and within a day they knew and remembered our names. I travelled with my son, a friend and her son and we were all very happy with what Icmeler had to offer. Special mention should be made of the Wayside Restaurant which was outstanding!!! Ozkan, Hamdi and all the guys there are lovely and we can't wait to see them all again when we return next year. That might have something to do with the most divine cheesecake we have ever tasted!!!!
All in all the best holiday I have had and cannot recommend it highly enough. A definite 110%

Pinewood Apartments was lovely - the staff are so friendly and helpful. We had an excellent time!
The food there is also very nice - they do a bbq every Sunday and it is really tasty and quite good value for money.
The only thing is they don't have an iron to lend! But that is my only complaint! Would definitely go again!!

First time to Turkey. Overall I found Icmeler a beautiful resort. Whilst we were there, there was a heat wave so the heat became pretty much unbearable.
The pinewood apartments were in a beautiful surrounding although I found the room we had was a lot smaller and more basic to other peoples within our group.
The Bar staff were very friendly, although I would keep my wits about me. The chips served at the Pinewood bar was beautiful. The was often very little sunbed space around the pool as people had reserved them by placing towels over them, so we very often retired to the 'Sahin' pool and bar which was more peaceful.
I have to say I almost always ate at 'The Rainbow Restaurant'. Serco and Ruth the owners were great, friendly, and extremely helpful! There is a great family atmosphere, with a children’s playground out the back with CCTV, so while you enjoy a drink out the front you can watch the large plasma screen to see what the kids are upto out the back.
The food both English and Turkish was gorgeous! Ruth being English had all the ingredients for a traditional Sunday lunch, whereas Serco was Turkish so he had all the secrets for traditional Turkish meals. They gave us lots of tips on what and what not to do. They even arranged a boat trip for us!
The Rainbow is situated on the road to the old town, Near 'Romance' 'Love Star' and 'Guys and dolls'.
I have to say..... if there’s a group of around 8 of you, and you want to go on a boat trip, I wouldn’t book a trip with the usual sales guys. if you do there will be about 50 of you squashed onto a boat with only 30 sunbeds/seats, you pay around £15 - £20 and can’t even relax and enjoy it.
Instead... go to Marmaris marina, have a walk along, there’s are many gullets and yachts for rent daily.
We hired a little gorgeous yacht for around £8 each, which included a day on the yacht with your chose of locations, lunch and staff (including the captain of course! ha-ha!) I think it was the best day of my holiday, we chose where we wanted to visit.... our lunch was beautiful, staff was really friendly and welcoming, we had a right giggle with them, they were very friendly. I believe the boat we went on was called 'Aphrodit' so if you go to Icmeler or marmaris its worth checking out this little boat.
Hope to go there again... this time when it’s a little cooler though.

Believe the reviews!
The Pinewood apartments may be considered basic but are very clean and staffed by a fantastically helpful team. The pool is cleaned every day, as are the rooms and the poolside bar serves excellent, value for money meals. A short walk takes you to an array of shops and restaurants, whilst the beach is only a 15 minute stroll. It is shingle, not sand but it does offer a welcome breeze as even in May the temperature can be in excess of 35 degrees.
Check out the Wednesday market which is only a stroll away but go early as it gets very hot and crowded. You have to forget your English ways and barter like a local to get the best price but a good rule of thumb is to halve whatever they first quote, be prepared to walk away and you'll get yourself a deal. They also like sterling so take some English notes.
For a great evening meal head to the canal area where The Majestic does a fantastic selection, I'd recommend the sizzling platters. Nearer to the apartments, you can't beat the service and choice of the Wayside, this time try the fajitas. But for the ultimate in choice, service, taste and value you can't beat The Love boat. The name may sound tacky but the place is immaculate, the staff polite and helpful and the menu rivals a quality bistro back home.
The only negative comment I can come up with is why were the prices in the airport on the way back in lira? Very confusing!
I would definitely visit the Pinewood again. It offers fantastic value for money and a chilled out, friendly base for to those wanting to explore and experience Turkey.
Stop reading and book it, you won't be disappointed!
