I went for a long weekend away to Amsterdam.
Not only it was a cheap flight and bed and breakfast. Amsterdam is the place to be!
The people there are nice and very friendly. I couldn’t believe that I saw no trouble. The only thing I’d say you have to be careful with is pick pocketers.
I’ll recommend anyone to go for a short holiday just to get away from home.
And its brilliant for shopping!! All these years I thought C and A was closed down due to bankruptcy. That was my favourite store!! I arrived in Amsterdam and there was a big building of C and A staring back at me, now I've decided to make regular trips to Amsterdam just to go shopping in C and A!

Having been to Amsterdam twice before this trip, I knew the score on hotels, not to expect too much, but i paid slightly more than my other trips and I wish I hadn't. The location is perfect, 250m from centraal station, opposite the red light disrtict, but the location is the only good thing.
Checked in just after 2pm and my girlfriend fancied a shower, as you would after a morning of travelling, so she got to the shared shower area and it was flooded and dirty.
Looked at our room and it was very basic but standard. The view looked over an alley which was nice.
Breakfast consisted of your standard continental breakfast at the chinese restaurant below the hotel. I tried the breakfast once in 4 days because by the time i got there, the eastern europeans that swamped the hotel had big piles of food and i was left with little to choose and my girlfriend just decided not to bother.
To summarise, this hotel is ok, particularly if your from eastern europe, or if you go with your mates i suppose it wouldnt be that bad. But if you take a female person, this place is not that nice so she wouldnt be impressed.
