Could be better
Just returned from Club Siroco, after a week of self catering. Overall had a great time, apartments are very basic, but clean (maid came every day). Key points -Complex is also clean, and staff friendly enough. Didn’t see any cockroaches at all. Apartments don’t have grills which is a bit annoying and also the walls are quite thin which can be annoying too. -Restaurant has typical processed food, with same tasteless food every day, so ended up only eating there once, would definitely not recommend all inclusive unless you love chips, burgers and salad every day. -Entertainment very basic, and as per other reviews just walk across the road to Sands for their bar and entertainment. -Costa Teguise itself is lovely and quiet (hardly any nightlife or shops), Siroco only 10 min walk from beautiful beach called Playa Jabilio. -I would definitely recommend hiring a car, which then enables you to go to Arrecife and other places which aren’t far away at all. There a supermarket just 6/7 mins away drive called Hiperdino, again very cheap for all essentials. Zara in Arrecife very cheap also. Overall Costa Teguise is great to go to and we had a lovely time relaxing on our patio as weather was great, but I do think that in terms of value for money, places like Los Zocos (same price as Siroco) is much better, so probably wouldn’t return. Any questions mail me on Sharon_sharma@hotmail.com.
Loved the apartments, entertainment not good
We stayed at Club Siroco for a week at the beginning of November and had a great time. Had a lovely view of Pool 1. The hotel doesn't have a porter so you do have to lug your suitcases up the stairs. Luckily we were on the first floor. I went with my mum and 3 year old daughter. The food was very nice, there was fish, meat, pizza, pasta, salads. Great breakfasts too. Only 1 disappointing meal at lunch and dinner. Stayed for a week all inclusive. Wine ok but I think had been watered down!! Entertainment in the hotel not good at all. This is an all round climate so there should have been some entertainment. We went over the road to the Sands Beach every night at 9.30pm. They had childrens disco, then a nightly show at 10pm which was very professional - different act every night. The South Tour half day was really good - the volcanos and camel ride. We booked our trips not through the hotel as they were expensive. Walked up the road, about 10 mins, past a clothes shop, next to a lovely ice cream and coffee place there is a tour travel company, they were really good. Overall a great holiday and would go back there. Great value for money, I know that I can go over the road for my entertainment.
fabulous!!!
My new husband and i stayed at siroco for our honeymoon. We stayed for 2 weeks from 7th sept to 21st, had a fabulous time and would DEFINATELY go back to siroco again. Rooms cleaned 6 days out of 7, and spotlessly i might add. All staff were great except for one. Without mentioning names, HE is (or appears to be) the restaurant manager and is very rude at times to the english tourists. If you're spanish or german then youre fine!!! He couldn't do enough for them! Very rude and extremely ignorant. I'm sure you will know who i mean if you are unfortunate enough to meet him. The restaurant is quite stuffy though as there is no air conditioning. Get a window seat if you can........even if you have to pretend to be german!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not much entertainment, but the 2 guys who try to do stuff are really nice and pleasant, again, without names, one is spanish and one dutch. BOTH FABULOUS!!! Pool clean and lovely for dipping in, really cooled us off with the weather being so hot, about 40 degrees some days. We couldn't complain about anything else really, we enjoyed the food, the rooms were nice and everywhere was clean. Also, we read lots of reports about seeing cockroaches but i only saw 1 in 2 weeks and that wasn't even anywhere near our hotel, it was a steak bar up the road. Netto is good for shopping, but if u don't mind going a bit further, spar is MUCH, MUCH cheaper. Especially for the spirits and beer (suncream is dirt cheap there too) Can't say much else except if you have read other reviews, don't panic, it's not bad & if you are willing to make friends then you don't need entertainment! You can have enjoyment with others you meet sitting at the side of the pool gettting quite drunk. If you do stay there, please give it a chance, and remember if you pay cheap, don't expect the world. They are doing their best. Hope whoever books enjoys it as much as me and my hubby did, and maybe one day we may see you there!
Excellent value for money.
We booked this hotel as a last minute deal from direct holidays and were extremely pleased with our stay. The view from our apartment was poor, but you can't really expect much else when booking 2 weeks before travel! The hotel was extremely clean with more than helpful staff. Most importantly the hotel is close to one of the quietest beaches, which is excellent for any novice who wants to buy some cheap snorkelling gear and watch the impressive array of fish. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a cheap and relaxing holiday, we hope to go back this July.
everything OK-ish
The apartments are clean and well serviced but only very average-no air-conditioning even in the restaurant. Evening entertainment is pathetic and you really need to go out. Food is edible but no variety and I would not reccommend all-inclusive. Wine tasted like water with Ribena! I don't understand the concept of Sirrocco 1 and 2 as the two are not integrated and the bar in 2 is not all-inclusive which is where the Sky TV is.This is very misleading in the description. The Travel Rebublic website has this complex as 3 Star but it is definitely only 2 and the whole desription is oversold compared to Lanzarote Gardens and Los Zocos etc. Staff friendly and helpful. Nothing to do if you stay in at night so all-inclusive is hopeless, self-catering would be OK but basic. Wouldn't return to this complex. The same old story -you get what you pay for.
stayed here march 2005, different experience!
We first stayed March 2005, the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was hot and a reasonable variety. Overall it was basic but good value for money. However this year, the food was constantly luke warm, I am sure they would constantly put the same food out in the evening or following day. There was even a microwave to heat food up that didnt work! Complained but falling on deaf ears, it is understandable the staff cant speak english but no attempt was made to communicate. There was no english TV channels at all, so why advertise sattellite TV. The electrics were dodgy (wires hanging out of wall, lamps precariously balanced). After once complaining the response put me off complaining again, we just thought certainly wont be returning! We were all inclusive and the resturant manager was constantly monitoring what you were having, which I found offensive. Carolann, trip advisor member.
It was just alright!
We werent expecting much after seeing some of the reviews but on the whole it was fine! After our 6 hour delay the check in was very quick and efficient which did impress me even at 2 'o' clock in the morning!!! The rooms were big enough and I have to say spotless as the maids cleaned 6 days a week! Watch out for cochroaches because we did see a couple around the grounds which facinated the kids but you do expect to see the odd one when your abroad so that didnt bother us! The set up in the hotel is very strange there are three bars - the hotel bar, theres a pool bar in Siroco II and the Sports Bar at the front all leased by different people! The sports bar was ok but your not allowed to take drinks from there into the hotel even though one of the doors leads right into it! Also this closes at 11.45pm and you have to sit inside from 11pm onwards while they cleaned up around you which was the strangest thing! The hotel bar was okay but again shut at 12am and the staff werent the friendliest but I suppose they werent rude either! We found the bar at Siroco II the most welcoming and did have a couple of nights there too which the kids really enjoyed! The Siroco II bar also serves snacks. We didnt try the food in the hotel so we cant really comment although I must say it didnt smell too appetising when we were walking past the restaurant. We were going to try the hotels entertainment one night because it was a magic show that the kids fancied but the act didnt turn up which I thought was pretty pathetic!! Anyway the Club Siroco was okay but I dont think we'd be tempted to return there!
great value for money
We stayed on the 27th July for two weeks self catering 2adults and two children aged 10 and 8. As per other reviews there are two side to the complex the green side and the blue side. We stopped in a one bedroom apt on the green side (ground floor) there are only three floors throughout the complex. We thought the complex was great value for money but were glad we didn;t go all inclusive as the range of food throughout the day was poor.(each to their own) The maid service was second to none and the apartments were spotless clean. Kids loved the pool as the beach was a bit too windy. The local town is ideal for family life with lots of bars and places to eat. Breakfast in the local square would cost you 3.5 euros for full english + drink + toast. Evening meal down the road from hotel (los zocos) 35 euros for 2 adults + 2kids (under 10) for all you can eat buffet and drinks..Fab... Local market is on a friday and sunday. Volcano visist is a must so are the caves and the submarine. All in all this was a great holiday and resort. If you want better night life walk accross the road to the sands villa thats what we did.
good value
my daughtr (16 yrs) and I went on a 1 week relaxation holiday. appartments were spacious and clean with all the facilities you would expect. we were familiar with the location and so knew how far it was to town ( 15 mins walk) but the nearest facilities being just 5 mins away. we went self catering which seems to be the best option as guests were moaning about the food and all inclusive option. The Vesubio restaurant in town is excellent -check out the mussells and king prawns in champagne sauce!! The entertainment at the hotel is virtually non existant although i understand for children it is quite good. we are used to going 5 star accommodation so don't give praise lightly. fr what we paid for our holiday we are well satisfied. would we go back again - yes
It was actually very nice!
We have just returned from two weeks at the Club Siroco and I have to say it actually wasn’t that bad. It is a very basis complex with (in the green windows side) one pool, a bar and a restaurant and (blue windows side) a pool bar only. The maid service is outstanding. We must have had our linen changed every other day with new towels almost every day. The apartments are quite simple but if you are self-catering they are perfectly adequate and well equipped to cook a good meal. We were half board; breakfast was ok – the same everyday – but a lot to choose from, so over the two weeks you didn’t get too board. The dinner service is not that good. The meals were sometimes cold and although not the same everyday in terms of what was there it was in that there was almost one type of meat, one type of fish, one type of potato etc. The restaurant is pretty stuffy, so my advice is to ask for a seat next to the open window or door. The pool (on the green windows side) is very clean and was cleaned every morning by the attendant. The grounds are cleared every morning by staff – in fact the place is spotless. Rooms and gardens! Tennis and crazy golf is available, however, the evening entertaining is to be desired!!! It is best to go to Los Zocus 10 yards down the road – you can’t miss it, as it is right next to Netto on aved. De la Canaries. The hotel staff are very friendly and very helpful and on the hotel complex they also have a mini shop and an English pub that plays every sports game going and English favourites like Big Brother!! We found that there were lots of Spanish people in the resort and around Costa Teguise, as well as lots of Germans. If you speak German you’ll be ok, as most people speak this language. If you are considering a tour there is plenty on offer – you will find leaflets on the sides of the road. We chose to do all our touring with Last minute Travel. They were very good, although a bit pricy! Top tips: Ask the hotel reception for a bus timetable – it is very helpful and you catch the bus opposite the Gran Melia Salinas (it will be on the area map they give you when you check in). Always ask the driver to tell you where the stop is for Arrecife, as if you blink you’ll miss it. If you want to go to Purto del Carmen you can get the bus directly from Costa Teguise. The beaches near the hotel are awesome, clean and no too packed. If you get there early you can get a sun bed – they cost 4 euros each and are for the whole day. We would return to Lanzarote and to Club Siroco but not for two weeks!!
