Club Siroco was a very pleasant hotel...
8 / 10
Nov 2005, Mr T Wareham

Club Siroco was a very pleasant hotel well situated for the resort of Costa Teguise. It is split into two halves though this isn't really obvious. There are two pools, i dare say one seemed much warmer than the other, the pool bar in Siroco 1 is good but not so good in Siroco 2 as it is quite dismal. The apartments were very clean and a maid service was a daily event with them even re-making all the beds although we had already done those. It really had a good feeling. The rooms are basic as is to be expected but pleasant enough.
The weather in February was pleasant, not too war but I will warn than the temperature somewhat plummets at night. Two blankets was barely enough! The food in the restaurant is not brilliant but alright just to have a couple of times. The Direct Holidays rep (Wendy) was very pleasant and helpful. You must do the Moonlight Speakeasy night if you travel with a Mytravel tour operator, it is excellent! Well worth the money, the food is great and the entertainment the same.
Overall the hotel is very pleasant, clean and well-situated so i would certainly visit again.

In all honesty we had read mixed...

Sep 2005, Miss N Morfoot

In all honesty we had read mixed reports of Club Siroco, but decided to give it a try. There were only two other young couples like us; everyone else was in families and older couples. This did not put us off, the people we met were friendly and the staff was great. We mostly stayed round the pool bar in Siroco one but this was more than good enough for us. The food was well worth the money and it was good if you didn't want to go out of the resort.
The drinks were REALLY cheap. The offer of entertainment was quite poor but we made our own entertainment in the end. If you want a lively night out you can get a taxi to a nearby town named Puerto Del Carmen. There was not much for children but this did not affect us. If you wandered out of the resort there was also plenty on offer. It was quiet but very enjoyable.
The cleaners were fantastic; they cleaned our room and changed sheets and towels more times than we had been previously informed of. The staff in the entire building was more than happy to help, we found that they were more helpful than the reps on a few occasions. All in all we enjoyed a quiet holiday, if that is what you are looking for then I would recommend this resort. There was talk of building work but this was at a halt when we were there! (It was very close to our apartment so it would have been annoying if work were being done during our holiday).
The sun was amazing, without the wind we would have been in 42-degree heat! The wind helps to cool you off but be careful as I burned whilst using a factor 50 cream in the last week of September.
There are several trips on offer, we went on a trip to 'cueva de los veredes' and 'Jameos del agua'. It was a fantastic day out but we did not go with the reps, as it was much cheaper to share a taxi with another couple. If you do this- make sure you book a return taxi, as it is impossible to get a taxi back from the caves. Luckily we had our mobiles and a waiter from one of the caves phoned one for us. We would most likely venture back to Costa Teguise in the future.

We have just returned from a week in...
1 / 10
May 2005, Mrs J Bate

We have just returned from a week in Costa Teguise where it was very windy but in the 80s all the same. Costa Teguise is a beautiful place and ideal for families.
We booked the Club Sirroco apartments online a few months ago and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the very attractive reception area at the apartments as we expected it to be basic by what we paid.
However when we got to our room in the 'green' complex, we found it to be even more basic than we possibly could have imagined - so much so that we went to see our rep (*****) first thing the next morning to ask for her help to get transferred to somewhere else.
The apartment inside was very drab and shabby, there was hardly any hot water and the sofa bed that they expected our 2 year old daughter to sleep on was a disgrace not to mention the fact that a maintenance man just walked into our room without knocking first!
Unfortunately ***** couldn’t find us any alternative accommodation so we set off on our own and eventually found availability at the beautiful Lanzarote Gardens Hotel which is a H10 Hotel and fantastic for families.
So it all ended well in the end after we paid an additional 240 pounds.
I would seriously not recommend the Club Sirroco apartments to anyone but don’t take my word for it - try it yourself if you want to be absolutely sure!

For approximately £80 each per week...
7 / 10
Feb 2005, Mr P Ramsey

For approximately £80 each per week we wasn’t expecting too much, but we were quite surprised, although basic the apartments were clean & tidy, all the appliances worked, are there was plenty of hot water. The site was in a good position for a quiet, relaxing holiday but only a 1/2 hour walk or £3 cab ride from the town centre if needed. The entertainment at the resort was limited for adults but the kids club seemed to be very popular with the under 8's.
The poolside bar prices were very good & the onsite pub was ideal for a pre/post evening drink, with a good selection of beers & spirits, & sky tv. For the sports fans.
Any issues were dealt with quickly & our maid was very friendly. Club sirocco is ideal for a weeks holiday but the small, basic apartments may become tiresome for a longer period.

Arrived at club Siroco on the...

Oct 2004, Mr Matt Steele

Arrived at club Siroco on the 28/10/04 - got to our room which was very basic - the fridge was very noisy & electrics were hanging off the wall in the living area - I then made a complaint & got another room which was great on the 1st floor.
The all inclusive was not at all impressive - they do put on an English breakfast on but the sausages are dripping in fat & after 10 minutes the fat dries to lard - not recommended - lunch & dinner have a mixture of cold pasta / watery soup / soggy veg & chips, chips and chips.. They also serve snacks in the pool bar / I should remove the serve as they put out pizza chips & ham/cheese toasties in a heated safe place - so if you like these snacks to have sat there for ages then you’ll like it.
I booked this because of the activities football volleyball tennis etc. What a disappointment - we didn’t have any activities until the last day when out of the blue a guy turned up asking if anyone wanted to go shooting - all adults looked in amazement - I got to speak to the guy who had been appointed on that day as the entertainment - he told us that the hotel were not willing to invest in rackets football etc. Please also note that we had no evening entertainment until our last night. Please also note there was no animation for children - appalling.
Onto the better things the beer is not bad - Costa Teguise a nice clean resort - as previously mentioned with the rocky beach - if you walk for another 2mins past the rocky beach you’ll find a nicer sandy beach with no rocks which was great. I’d recommend the Cutty Sark for food which was next to the beach lovely English grub.
I’m sure there are plenty of good hotels/apartments in Costa Teguise but club Siroco is not one -

We have ventured to the sun drenched...

Jul 2004, Mr SJ Parker

We have ventured to the sun drenched island of Lanzarote on many occasions, the difference this time was that we could not book into our usual accommodation and so instead we took the gamble that most holiday makers take every year and opted for "un-charted" territory in the guise of the apartment complex Club Sirocco.
Our flight out to the Lanzarote went without any hitches or distractions and was both timely and pleasant, indeed the Gods were very kind in sparing us any of the usual turbulence over the Bay of Biscay. Our arrival on the volcanic yet strangely beautiful island of Lanzarote was much the same as any of our other visits to the island, don’t expect to get your baggage before at least an hour wait, it is after all about 100 degrees in the shade and these people have learnt that hauling bags and cases is not life or death.
We arrived at the complex of Club Sirocco and upon first inspection all was very good with a pleasant cool welcoming reception area, tastefully decorated and clean. One point I feel I must point out, and one which seams to catch out most "new" people to the island is that outside of the actual resorts don’t expect anything other than barren rock and expanses of nothing, this is a rain starved baking hot island which has wonderful resorts but nothing in between, so all you cyclists and walking explorers may wish to look elsewhere.
The Club Sirocco complex is split into two separate parts blue and green. The good news is that green has been renovated fully, the bad news is that blue was still very much a work in progress. Here is where we come to the score losing part of the review, yep you guessed it we had been put into the dreaded blue side. We arrived outside our apartment with key in hand, cases intact and sweat on brow, upon entering the apartment we were greeted with the almighty sound of tiles smashing, it really was like a Greek wedding with the sound of smashing crockery coming through one of the adjoining walls. We tried to remain "upbeat" and convince ourselves that it would soon stop but... no it went on and on and then the sawing, banging started and to just about round things off our security deposit box was faulty.
Here I was stood at reception trying to make them understand about noise and locks, they finally understood and to be fair moved us immediately to another apartment away from the building work. So top marks for responding to the situation but why let it happen in the first place?
The island of Lanzarote is without question an acquired taste but once it has opened its charm and beauty you are hooked for evermore, it is as much beautiful as awe inspiring and offers some wonderful natural beauty in a rugged sort of way. The resort of Costa Teguise is a modern purpose built resort with wide palm lined roads and many shops and restaurants which cater for almost all cuisine tastes and choices. The main beach of Las Cucharas is a man made beach with a wide crescent expanse of golden sand and is very rarely overly full. The sea can be raucous and rough but breakwaters stop it getting to the stage where someone may be hurt. I urge even non beach lovers to at least give it a try and tear themselves away from the two pools at the apartment complex, even though these pools are clean and well maintained they really cannot compare with the beauty of looking out over the Atlantic on a very warm Canary afternoon.
Entertainment at the apartments is really quite basic with the usual karaoke nights and nothing too spectacular but the whole resort is really not about spectacular nights out or cabaret, if you want a more active night life you have really come to the wrong place, people are here to relax and sit having a meal overlooking the Atlantic with a few glasses of wine.
Thankfully the holiday went without any more problems and the guaranteed sunshine and relaxation you get from Costa Teguise was mirrored by Club Sirocco, I can only say that maybe a little thought before guests arrive instead of reacting once things have gone wrong would have got Club Sirocco an 8 or maybe 9.

We’ve just come back from club...
7 / 10
May 2004, Mrs J Taraldsen

We’ve just come back from club Siroco in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. We have two children and I can honestly say there isn’t much for the children to do here on the island at all.
The apartment that we stayed in wasn’t much to be desired the furniture was quite worn some of it could have done with been replacing. Maybe I noticed this more because the weather wasn’t that nice and we did spend more time in the apartment than we thought we would. The maid services was very good though fresh towels and bed linen nearly every day and they would clean up your apartment.
On our first day here we went to buy a camcorder in the Las Curachas Shopping Centre and maybe this is why we didn’t enjoy our holiday as much as I thought we would because we were totally ripped off. We did go back to the shop and complain and we asked for our money back or a camcorder that was worth what we hade paid the shop keeper for he did give us another camcorder after us being there for about an hour arguing with him but to say the least we didn’t find him polite and he was quite threatening at times especially when my husband asked for a complaint form and said he was going to get the police. He wouldn’t give us a complaint form and even with the camcorder that he replaced for us it still wasn’t worth the money we paid him. So be warned stay away from buying anything like this here.
The beach is quite nice although the sea we found quite a lot of rocks in it so not very child friendly unless you go down to las churacas beach this is lovely.
There are some lovely restaurants to eat in and the food is very good. In club Siroco in the sports bar you can get a good English breakfast and I am sure Laura will look after you she is really nice and it is quite cheap, about 5 euros. Also visit Tony’s bar by the pool over on siroco 2 he is brilliant and you can have a good laugh with him.
Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back to Lanzarote and being ripped off over the camcorder like we were totally spoiled our holiday we didn’t expect this to happen.
Make sure you go on the excursion to Fuertaventura this was a great day out and brilliant for kids to see the dolphins swimming in the sea. Also visit the Tex Mex just down the road from Siroco food is lovely here and good value for money and the service is brilliant.
