Jan 2008, Mr J Simpson

Retro springs to mind, if you have a hankering for sunny hols when they were cheap and cheerful this is where to go. Concrete furniture, rotting door frames, plaster hanging of the walls and electrics that don't work, just like Benidorm was 40 years ago, the only difference, at that time it was cheap, now with the Euro it is not.
It really is a culture shock when you manage to get the door open, the apartment is dire, but it is fairly clean if you don't look too closely.
The position is well away from the main town centre, a good 15 minute walk and there is only one pub close at hand.
The pool is reasonable and there are plenty of sunbeds.
The sun shines so people keep going, but if you were offered the same accomodation here you would report them to the authorities.
Spain and the Canaries are in a time warp, holes in the pavements, bad buildings and a total disregard for health and safety, the fire gates were padlocked at the Siroco. They used to get away with it when it was cheap, but people are cottoning on, I won't be back I'll pay the extra and go to Florida or try the Black sea resorts.

Was quite worried about Club Siroco...

Jan 2008, Mrs S Smith

Was quite worried about Club Siroco before arriving as had read some really bad reviews but on first impression it was very clean and tidy.
Our room was basic but clean. The beds smelt a bit funny but they were quite old. The pool area was fine they only swept it at night though and didn't hose it down so feet got bit dirty.
Liked the pool bar and the dining room looked OK. The food on the other hand wasn't. Breakfast was OK although you had to reheat the food in the microwave.
Snacks were awful and cold. Lunches were sometimes OK if you liked fish but again food wasn't hot. Dinners weren't up to much either and it has put me off going all inclusive again unless I know someone who has been recently.
The kids club was very good and Dimitri really made my kids holiday, he was brilliant with them. Entertainment wasn't good at all and was disappointed Christmas Eve and New Years Eve nothing on at all. Ended up at Cactus Jacks. Costa Teguise is a nice resort, very quiet.
Some brilliant places to eat. Cactus Jacks is brilliant for a good night out and the food was good and very reasonably priced.
The island is lovely and the weather was brilliant. Hope to go back to Lanzarote again in the future but not Club Siroco.

Booked this holiday very last minute,...

Booked this holiday very last minute, wanted some winter sun - booked on the Monday, arrived on Thursday for a 7 night stay. As we like to eat out and not be tied to times, we took the self catering route.
On arrival we found our accommodation, on first impression, to be a little tired and maybe in need of some care. However after a good night’s sleep, and finding that we had maid service, change of towels every 2 days, linen change mid week things looked better.
The maid was excellent - on returning after a day out the rooms were perfect, beds made, bathroom cleaned and towels folded. Washing up that was left was done, floors swept and mopped (we saw this being done some days).
The pool area was great, and work was being done on the gardens.

All I would ask is for the sofa covering be updated, and the eating area worktops replaced and maybe the door locks updated.
We did not use any onsite facilities so cannot comment.
I think I will return early next year for another break.

Hotel was very clean and basic...

Dec 2007, Mrs C Pawson

Hotel was very clean and basic although we had a few problems, we got an electric shock off our 2 ring cooker, that was fixed then it blew all the lights.
The tap came off the bath, the plumbing pipe under the sink leaked. The hotel gift shop was 3 times as expensive as anywhere else milk was 3.50 euro 1.05 anywhere else.
Would recommend self catering as the food wasn’t up to much was told they froze the fried eggs the night before but not sure if this is true, maid change towels daily accept thurs and Sundays, bedding was changed every 3 days.
Drinks were watered down in the pool bar in the green block.
The green block is a lot better than the blue block, we were fortunate to be put in the green block, a lot more room, and bigger patio space. I think we were just unlucky.

Just returned from two weeks at Club Sirocco and had a fantastic time. We were in the blue side, which looked a little run down, but was very clean and tidy.
While we were there work was going on in some on the apartments to renovate them. Maid service was excellent, 5 days per week, clean towels every second day.
Pool was cold, but not any colder than other places I have been. Lots of places to eat in town, worth walking down towards the harbour to eat at some real Spanish places.
My only complaint is that there were too many 'English pubs' selling 'real English food'. We prefer to go for the local food, which was excellent. Pool Bar 2 catered mostly for the English guests, with very loud karaoke on several nights.
All staff at hotel were extremely friendly, especially reception staff who were very helpful and spoke very good English. Showers were actually heated and water was VERY hot, but not lots of it, got cold quite quickly.
In conclusion, I would definitely go back to Costa Teguise and would stay at Club Sirocco again.

As an all inclusive hotel advertising...
1 / 10
Oct 2007, Ms CD Jones

As an all inclusive hotel advertising daily entertainment with the animation team and nightly entertainment, this hotel was appalling.
Having a 7 year old child and booking here on the promise of entertainment, I was extremely disappointed. The snacks available through the day were cold and poor and the meals, although edible were lacking immensely on variety.
3 bars of which only one was all inclusive made life very difficult, especially since only the non all inclusive bars were those which provided some kind of poor quality entertainment. Spent in the region of an extra £1000 on top of the holiday because we had to venture outside the complex for any kind of activities.
The mini disco was opened on 1 night and that was poorly organised. The majority of staff were unhelpful and rude. The rep service was also of a very low standard and I for one will be making a formal complaint regarding the entertainment available in comparison to that which was advertised.
The only good thing I have to say about Club Siroco was that it was extremely clean and tidy.
Mini Golf was in dire need of restoration and the fact that the lighting was not working in that area made it impossible to play in the evening. Pool tables were not working properly either.
All in all this turned out to be a holiday from hell for my family and having only arrived home yesterday and feeling that I have not had a break at all, I can only suggest that if you are looking for somewhere that caters for children and adults alike, do not choose this complex.

Sep 2007, Ms M Bennett

I have just recently stayed at the Club Sirocco and my views are a bit mixed. I found the hotel staff very nice and obliging, even if most of them didn’t speak very good English.
The pool was cleaned and maintained very well, the rooms are basic but spacious and cleaned daily with regular towel and linen changes.
However the all inclusive board basis was somewhat disappointing.
Breakfasts were of a good selection but nothing changed on the daily menu. Snacks were available from 11am but it was mainly leftovers from breakfast and most of it wasn’t covered over and flies were on the food. I found lunches were the best meal of the day, there as a good selection although not much choice for children.
Evening meals weren’t bad but on more than one occasion I noticed that the vegetables were what was left over from lunch and re-heated, when I booked this I was told that there was entertainment, yes there was on other areas of the complex, the all inclusive option was only available at pool bar number 1 and if I wished to take my son to the junior disco then I had to pay for drinks at that bar, also I found the quality of the drinks to be slightly watered down.
The only entertainment at pool bar number 1 was music on a cd player from behind the bar which was the same music day in and day out. I found myself most nights following other holidaymakers into the main town where there was decent food, drinks and entertainment, which was nice but slightly annoying considering what we had already paid to stay at the Sirocco.
Overall a slightly disappointing stay here and I won't be returning.

We were dreading our holiday after...

Sep 2007, Mrs A Chandler

1 reader found this review helpful

We were dreading our holiday after some the reviews we had read about the Club Siroco, but thought oh well, a holiday is what you make it and it was only cheap really for the time of year.
We didn't have transfers and this was a much better option plenty of taxis and only 17 euro's each way.
We stayed in the blue side (this is where they seem to put self catering) yes it looked a little tired and could do with a revamp but overall it was very comfortable and very very clean!
The kids club on the complex was good my little girls aged 2 and 3 loved it although they didn't really like the man who worked there, as he told one of them off but my husband had a word with him and after that all was ok. They also loved the pool and the little play area they had there.
We found a fantastic place to eat called "el boulevard" also known as the white tent it is just a 5 min walk from the Siroco and the food is fab! They have a buffet style bit where you can get pizza chips garlic bread and such a English carvery bit and a Chinese banquet bit you help yourself all you can eat and drink for only 14 Euros!!! and 3.5 for kids 10 and under. You can have all 3 of you like and go back as many times as you want! This is open 6.30pm till 9.30pm and we loved it.
You can buy all your English stuff in the Netto shops there but beware it is very very expensive you are best going to the spar shop at the top of the big hill much cheaper and better.
Also the food in fat Larry’s is fantastic it’s an Indian banquet you help yourself as much as you can eat for only 7.95 Euros get a taxi for only 2 Euros. The food is reasonable everywhere but beware the drinks can be extortion, Legends do a fab Sunday lunch but 7 Euros for 2 cokes was so steep.
There is an Irish bar in the lil shopping area opposite much better and much much cheaper!
There is a fantastic little place forgotten what it is called but it’s in the nearest shopping centre the only one actually indoors and its is very very nice and very cheap.
My husband had a tattoo there in a place called the British bulldog very good and not expensive my husband has 12 tattoos and this is the best he has had! The tattoo artist is called micka and he is really nice he done a fab job of my hubby's liverbird even though he is a Leed's fan (hehehe)!
The market trip is well worth a look to book with the tour place in the town only 10 Euros and your Sunday lunch included! We loved the drag bar there it was called "lively lady.” It was free to get in drinks where reasonable and the shows where so so funny loved it there and you can take the kids in too.
There is also a market on a Friday night in the town starts at 9pm good if you love a good barter like me!
Overall we loved it and will definitely be going back next year. Enjoy! Have a fab holiday!

We have just had 2 weeks at club...

Aug 2007, Mrs M Stevenson

We have just had 2 weeks at club Siroco & I must say it was one of the best holiday's we have had. After reading some of the comments I was dreading going to club Siroco & even considered cancelling our holiday.
But we went and I dreaded opening the door to our apartment, we had room 313 overlooking the pool, the room was spotless the mattress’s looked new, sheet's white & fresh changed every 3 days, towels every day(should be every 2 days but leave a tip now & then it pays) cleaner every day except Sunday, they even washed up!
We even had a bed in the lounge so our son didn't have to sleep on the sofa. No horrible smells or stains everything was perfect. Even the balcony had pool & sea view & sunshine all day.
We went all inclusive the food was great lots of choice & hot. The service was very good again a little tip helps what’s a couple of euros now & then. The food was not left over from breakfast & was not out all day it was fresh, hot & covered.
The only let down was the entertainment but there are plenty of places to go only a short walk away. So yes would certainly go back again.
Met some great people thank you to them for some great nights, funny photo'& fantastic memories.

Jul 2007, Miss S Carr

This is our second time to the Siroco and we love it. Its clean, tidy, friendly and really child friendly.
Not much to do on a night time but that does not bother us as we walk around the resort after our meal and do our shopping.
We are going back again in August for trip number 3 and we cannot wait.
We are going all inclusive this time so we will save on drinks and ice creams, because you know kids, they love them and it can run up pricey.

Spent the first two weeks in June...
10 / 10
Jun 2007, Mr J Tarpey

1 reader found this review helpful

Spent the first two weeks in June self catering with my wife and four children who are aged between three and eleven.
We don't bother with all incs as we like to eat out and don't like being tied to a complex, so cannot comment on food or service.
The apartment we stayed in was overlooking the pool and was kept spotless by the maid. No English channels on TV but who wants to watch telly on holiday anyway. Furnishings and beds were comfy enough and bathroom was excellent. (kids wanted to know why there were two toilets).
Was surprised it wasn't busier but more people arrived during second week. Pool bar 2 had just been taken over by an English couple who were very friendly and kept the kids supplied with slushes. They put on a barbecue and karaoke on our last night which was great fun.
Pool area and pool were spotless. Water in pool was cold as mentioned in other reviews but ok once you got used to it. Pool was cleaned every morning and old pool tables (ancient) were replaced with new ones with smaller pockets while we were there.
If you are self catering there are Netto’s everywhere which are reasonable but beware some of the smaller shops - rip off. Especially the one near the hotel reception 20 teabags 8.50 Euros, same box Netto 1.40 Euros.
Change your money in the electronics shops, 1.43/£ against 1.36/£ at reception. Doesn't sound a lot but you can get three cooked breakfasts for seven Euros at a few of the cafe bars.
No shortage of good restaurants for the evening with Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Tex Mex, German and English in the square near the bungee trampolines just off the beach, five minute walk from Sirocco.
Beaches are great, three within ten minute walk all worth a visit. Good resort for young families and older couples. Wouldn't recommend it for Ibiza/Magaluf party animals. Lots of body boarding, windsurfing but plenty of room for swimmers, and sunbathing.
Had a cracking time, would definitely go back.
