Hotel Montecarlo

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Montecarlo for 4 nights around New Years Eve. The room was comfortable and staff very helpful. Ideally located for sightseeing. We took the Metro in from the airport and were able to walk to the hotel from the train station. While on the Ramblas, it is on the north end so it was not too busy yet within walking distance to most sights. Would definately stay again. A tip, we did not have breakfast at the hotel and perferred instead to walk around in search of coffee and pastry.

My husband and I just returned from a week in Spain and were "blown away" with both Barcelona and the Hotel Montecarlo. We chose the hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and were thrilled. Everything you read here, from the comfort of the beds to the pleasant helpfulness of the staff is true. We had room 513, facing La Rambla, and enjoyed the open-aired front view each night till it was time to close the world out and sleep like babies in the adjustable, soft beds. My daughter and I spent three nights at the Montecarlo in February. It was everything we had hoped for: great location, wonderful, friendly staff, very comfortable room. We were right on Las Ramblas, and could take in the scene from our balcony, yet when we closed the sliding doors, it was completely quiet. I don't know if I've every stayed in such a quiet hotel room. The room was very modern and comfortable. The staff helped us with everything we needed. Definitely would stay there again.

We have just returned from this hotel. The room was large, clean and well equipped. The bed (adjustable) very very comfortable, and the bathroom so luxurious. On top of all this the staff were the friendliest we have ever encountered. The best hotel we have stayed in. We will definitely return.

My wife and I just got back from our mini vacation in Barcelona. We stayed at Hotel Montecarlo, and we loved this hotel!! The service was great, and the room we stayed in was excellent! Our room faced La Rambla, tastefully decorated (the bed...oh, so comfortable!!), and the bathroom equipped with Jacuzzi. About the service, as I said earlier, was excellent!. We stayed at the Montecarlo for two nights as part of our honeymoon and found our room very comfortable. It was at the front of the building and had a small balcony overlooking the Ramblas, plus a wonderful jacuzzi-type bath. The staff were so helpful and, realising it was our honeymoon, brought up a lovely bottle of cava to our room! The desk staff could not have been more helpful. This is definitely a hotel I would stay at again.

We went to this hotel during December with my daughter aged 9 for her birthday. We booked a junior suite, which consisted of a bedroom, a separate living area, a little patio and a shower/hydro sauna combination with a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The most annoying factor was that when I'd booked this online, I had made a request for an extra bed for a child in the comments section, I even phoned up SRS to make sure that this was possible for the room type we'd booked as you couldn't specify a child occuping a room with parents on line.... more

You don't even have to think about it. Just book this hotel. This was my 6th trip to Barcelona, and I travel extensively throughout Europe. I have never had a more positive hotel experience for this price range. I booked the hotel for 115 euros (an Internet special) and was ready to ask and pay for an upgrade after I arrived and could see the room. I didn't need to - the room was perfect. I recently visited my husband for a long weekend while his Ship was alongside in Barcelona so the trip had to be perfect and somtimes a hotel can make a differnce on the weekend. This hotel was beautiful, the staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. We did not eat in the hotel as we wanted to experience local tapas restuarants, however we could not have wanted anymore and if we had more time would have eaten in the hotel. We live in and travel extensively in Europe. This hotel is perfect. We spent New Years in Barcelona. Our room overlooked the Ramblas and we spent the last of the evening on our balcony. When we returned inside...closing the doors and curtain...the noise ceased! Could not have asked for a more perfect location or nicer staff. Our room was delightful. Highly advise this hotel!
