We enjoyed a fabulous holiday at the Astra Village.
The accommodation is absolutely spotless and the staff are great. Although located near the airport - there is virtually no noise - in fact it’s great watching the occasional plane coming into land.
Nearby Lassi beach is a dream, warm sea, lots of sunbeds and nice cafe's.
This is a quiet island, not for the party animal! Make sure that you hire a car and travel round especially to Myrtos beach its fabulous.

New bungalow style hotel at Kefalonia with impeccable beauty of the surroundings, astonishing views to the sea, colourful gardens, very clean, friendly owners & staff.
We had unforgettable holidays, really feeling at home.
With a large pool, with Jacuzzi sets, we got the total feeling of rest and calm, having refreshing cocktails from the bar, or having excellent dishes for lunch or dinner at the Elia restaurant overlooking the excellent view, with the most wonderful sunset I have ever seen.
The decoration of the whole resort is astonishing with morn style, and the pathways with colourful flowers and trees gives you a real escape for relaxation.

Returned from this lovley place 29nd june 2008, beautiful island and the cleanest hotel me and my partner have ever stayed in the breakfasts were brill great selection of fresh fruit ,yogurt, cereals and varied day to day hot food bacon and eggs ect, we ate in the hotel restaurant a couple of nights also and couldnt fault the food at all and the pizzas were to die for, the combination of sea, sun and delicious food made us have an unforgettable romantic holiday , the staff were very hospitable and helpful and very welcoming, but the bar man was totaly laid back and slow..you had to shout him to be served and eventually he came. The room was cleaned every day and clean towels and bed changed mid week. Must say though not enough information about the hotel its very very remote and you do need a hire car, and the island only has 2 cash points in Agastoli the capital (we were told this by our rep ?) and when we went one was broke (ohh :-( how we paniked !!!)..no cash point at the airport either DOH!!!!. We had a taxi into Agastoli from the hotel which cost us 12 euros. (OOH! and you can still smoke anywere in greece what a treat for all the smokers out there).........this was mine and my partners first holiday together and its a very romantic place to go we came back even more in love, and totally chilled out, but its not for children not enough to do just a pool, so we were glad we went on our own, we walked to a few local resturants on a couple of nights :-) but blimey it was miles you would walk up the road surrounded by fields then all of a sudden a restaurant or if you were lucky two together but then you would have to walk back along a dark road and miles and miles of dark road there was. We would highly recommend this hotel though and we plan to go back for our 5yr anniversary, Kefalonia is a romantic island and there are fantastic breathtaking sunsets its just remote and apparently most of the island is the same, hope you go and enjoy it like we did Shell & Les
