Swallow Dreadnought Hotel

Hello there and I am sorry to have to say that the Dreadnought in Callander has really gone down the drain in our opinion.
We stayed for 2 nights, 8th & 9th June 2007.
The room (number 101) was very small, the carpet looked liked it had not been cleaned for a long time. The windows were thick with cobwebs.
The bathroom (no bath) was so small you could hardly turn round in it and cracks running from the floor to the ceiling. I asked for a room with a shower, well if this is their idea of a shower? The mind boggles.
The meals were very mediocre and the veg was steamed to death.
Most of the people we saw said the same and you were lucky if you had all your utensils... to cut it short you had to ask for most things.
They seemed to be very short staffed and the young man on reception had to run between reception and the bar and even had to help in the dining room.
We have used this hotel in the past and it was fine, but now? Never again.
The walls have some serious looking cracks.
As said at the start we are sorry to have to give this Hotel a big thumbs down...
