Smelly Travelodge
The room reeked of stale cigarette smoke and the bathroom reeked of stale urine. Arrived at check in after a 4 hour drive, to be asked for photo I.D without which we would not have been allowed to check in- not mentioned anywhere on their website. Just by sheer luck I did have my driving licence in the car, other wise I would have had to drive around Waterford at 9pm with 2 children looking for another hotel. I had to pay in cash as their credit card maching was broken, and the receptionist still demanded photo I.D. I have never been asked... more
Worst Night Of My Life
I booked into this hotel for a night as it accepts pets and I wanted to travel with my dog. The hotel on arrival appeared clean and fine for the price. We had not been warned however, that there was an intinerant (traveller) funeral group staying in the hotel. They ran up and down the corridors all night, smoking, drinking, creating mayhem. On approaching the reception at 1.30am to complain, we were told 'poor things, they're upset'!!! The next morning (9am) they were grouped around the reception and front door and inside the... more
As You would Expect
Stayed 1 night in june 2007. Stopped there by chance after a long day's drive from Dublin with multiple stops. It lived up to expectations for a Travelodge. Fairly modern, spacious, adequate +. Price quite reasonble.
Better than I remember...
Having stayed in this particular Travelodge before, and had one particularly bad experience in it, I had a certain sense of trepidation about approaching it again. However, they seem to have made some tweaks - a coat of paint here, and change there which has altered it and made it seem a little more modern than before. It's also now got wi-fi at a reasonable cost. It is what it is - a Travelodge - but at a reasonable price and a reasonable level of comfort, it can't be beaten if you're looking for a no-fuss, clean place to sleep in... more
Our worst lodging experience in Ireland (or almost anywhere)
We arrived in Waterford on a Friday evening. We drove through a lot of traffic, not really know where we were going to end up. Not wanting to drive back towards the bridge into the traffic again, we grudingly checked into the Travelodge. What a mistake. We should have braved the traffic and gone to the b&b our previous host had recommended. The next day there was a badminton tournament in town and many colleges and clubs were in town unbeknownst to us. As the night wore on, the ruckus these kids were causing just increased. There... more
Fantastic Value for Money
Great budget hotel, arrived quite late in the evening with a tired family. We were greeted by an exteremely friendly staff member at reception. We were checked in quickly and directed to our room. We had booked a non smoking family room, the kids love the sofa style kids beds, the room was perfect, very clean, which is important when you have little ones. It was great to see that the TV had an adapter to take a playstation, which my son loved. The bathroom was very clean, excally what we expected from Travelodge. The same guy was on the... more
I've seen better
We stayed here for one night coming off the ferry nothing was available in wexford for us, so we stayed here. Staff seemed friendly enough and it came with a continental breakfast. Although there was a moldy smell, probably because there's no fan in the bathroom and no bathmat for the floor. Some guy was on the only internet computer for most of the night, but I got up at 6am and was able use it before we checked out. Was way better than the travelodge cork airport. Don't know if I can say that it was a good experience but I was thankful for... more
