Kinloch House Hotel

We held our daughters 21st dinner here in March 2007. We thought that at that time it might be bit bare and empty. Wrong. The hotel is waht you would want as a home if you were a Scots laird. I live 20 miles away and love the place. First the 21st. We booked a private room for dinner for 8 people. Also we booked to stay overnight. We stayed at Kinloch to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary. We joined the ruby couple along with other members of the family. We enjoyed a lovely 3 course lunch which we had started late due to some delays for a few of us. This did not phase the staff. The food was plentiful and the staff ensured our glasses were all topped up with wine as well as water. We were asked if we wished coffee thru in one of their drawing rooms. Lovely. It is always the case that every bride is of the opinion that theirs was the best wedding ever...but with thanks to the Allan family, I am fairly confident that ours came pretty close. The setting is pleasantly in the middle of nowhere-in-particular, but this only adds to the surprise once you're comfortably inside - roaring log fires, polished silver and brass, and antique furniture galore, this place manages to be beautifully upmarket yet incredibly homely all at once. My partner and I had a 5 day vacation in Scotland, and we spent 2 nights at Kinloch House. My first choice would have been the other Relais & Chateaux in the neighbourhood (Kinnaird) where I had staid 6 years ago, but prices there have skyrocketing since there, so we picked Kinloch.
