I have booked this hotel in 2009 + 2010 and looking to book again this year, I have taken a few guys to visit the island as we have played a few games of Cricket during the winter months with the locals at the local football ground, the hotel has very welcoming Receptionist and Pool bar attendant who are only too friendly to help with and issues and have excellant knowledge of things to do, the Rooms are cool if you leave the terrace door open or sitting by the pool and a dip in the pool just to cool off frequently is just great, the supermarket is very handy as is the Purple Turtle for watching Sport in the evenings with cheap drinks as long as you drink they are open, strongly recomend the bus trip to the volcano and the wind drinking went down a storm.

My girlfriend and I went on a winter holiday in January, when we arrived at the hotel we thought the entrance wasn't the most appealing, however once you are through reception and see the pool area, our doubts were gone.
Our room was massive for what we paid. We were pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness. It was extremely well equipped, especially for a 2* hotel! The bedroom was well laid out as it has windows with shutter that were corridor facing, this kept the sun out in the early hours of the morning, but make sure you leave the door open so you don't sleep in and miss you day!
The pool was great, very clean and just 1 euro for a comfy mattress. The pool was very cold so we didn't swim much this was due to the time of year and had nothing to do with the hotel in general. The bar owner was lovely and very friendly and helpful.
The main promenade is a 15 minute walk from the hotel, which is a great place to go for dinner. We would recommend the New World Chinese restaurant which is just before the main street. Its nothing like the takeaways here, it's proper authentic cuisine. Also there's an awesome Mexican restaurant, its about half way up the street (can't remember the name!) but its awesome!
Best place for drinks and pub entertainment is the Sunset Beach which offers great views of the beach and tasty cocktails plus 10% discount card if you come again!
If you fancy a quieter scene that's a bit closer to the hotel, head to the old town, which is 5 minutes away. There's a lot of nice little restaurants and bars here.
We had a great time here and would highly recommend going here! Especially if you don't want to be right in the noisy area of the resort!
- Advice: Visit the Old Town at least once!

i stayed in these apartments fro two weeks recently and found them to be very clean, spacious and staff very friendly, maids come most days, its very central, supermarket nearby and in general i would go back again. the only thing that leaves apartments down is the plant boxes that are every where people often put cigeratte butts into them and they were not cleaned out. but to be fair thats minor as other than that they are well worth stayin in and priced well.
- Advice: will go back its very central and clean

firstly the entrance hall to reception is very bad. when we booked in we had to climp steep stairs and cross by swimming pool to get to apartment. the apartment in fairness was clean but the heat inside the apartment was unbelieveable as there is no air con. the bedroom is next to hallway and constant noise and banging all night long. we have put this down to experience and wont be staying there again.
- Advice: dont stay

as we entered our apartment the rooms were dark and smelly, we cleaned and put aerosol spray all over, the balcony was large and pool side, but that was the only consolation. the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything next door, but the worst was every evening you could hear everyone coming home from there nights out at all times, singing and arguin. the final straw was being continually woken up and at 4 oclock in the morning having the irish contingent arriving back singing and shouting, and when we asked them to shut up, was told that they were going to break the door down and kill us.
we ended up leaving that morning and having to pay extra in a hotel.
if you do anything in your life, heed this.

we stayed at la florida last week, as soon as we opened the door it smelt damp musty and old,we asked to be moved but they said it was full,we decided just to get on with it, but really even if you get a cheap deal its not good enough. we had asea view and looked over the road room 102, but were also above the supermarket which opened at 6am and woke us each morning moving all the goods about. I cant say it was dirty, it was just old and damp, use the towels once and they just smelt.
- Advice: nice resort, plenty to do, scuba ,plenty bars and restaurants

I stayed for one week in September 08. I booked this place on price, and was not disappointed. When I arrived I asked the blond girl on reception if I could change room to one on the top floor. She was very helpful on this occasion, as well as on a few others when I asked her about different things; I'm not sure why she gets such a bad review, I found her quite okay.
The room was good, the pool area was fine, if a little slippery. The cleaning service was very good. The supermarket downstairs is very convenient. There are plenty of bars within a short walk The town centre is a bit further, and the area is hilly, so if you have trouble walking or are lazy then you will need a taxi.
My only problem during my stay was with a particularly rowdy group of lads, who would come in about 4-5 am making a hell of a racket. I would have expected the hotel to do something about this, especially after they vomited, and worse, in the corridor outside their room.
I am just now booking again for next summer.
And if you want to try scuba diving I have not been anywher better for learners. I thoroughly recommend Safari Diving.
- Advice: Full of bars, with goodish restaurants. Long beach. Cheap buses.
- Activities: You must try the diving.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in the apartments a few weeks ago, after reading reviews before we went, we were both slightly nervous to say the least.
The apartment was very spacious, very clean and the kitchen facilities were fantastic for those wishing to eat in.
The maid cleaned the room 6 days out the 7, and the towels/linen changed 3x within the week.
We had no problems with the reception and the times it was closed, the access to the side door was great.
Although the apartment is at the top of a hill, there are some great little bars, which are very friendly and cheap too!
The purple turtle was great!....the staff were lovely, the food was great and the drinks cheap!
i would recommend to anyone to stay at the la florida apartments.

i stayed in la florida for two weeks in july with my boyfriend- arriving in the apartments i didn't think they were up to much, as they were rather dull! but i was wrong, i had an amazing time in them. the pool area is basic but it has a good atmosphere and is relaxing! had a bit of a problem getting a sunbed on the second week, but apart from that i have no complaints! food in the pool bar was lovely! be prepared to listen to the same songs on holiday fm everyday haha! our room was cleaned everyday, apart from maybe once? so the maid service is great! kitchen is fully equipped&living area is good! the only complaints i have are that the receptionists don't have a clue and are very rude, in particular a blonde girl.. i lost my phone on the second week&when i asked her for some assistance she was extremely rude and didn't want to know! another thing is that you have to rent your remote which is abit silly, but it's only €2 a day, so not too bad. the pool area is quite noisy at night at times, but there's normally security wlaking about! ALSO if you go club 18-30 do NOT go to rancho texas, it's the biggest waste of €50 ever, the pub crawl the first night was very good though! puerto del carmen is a lovely wee place, and la florida isn't far from the main strip&only a 5 minute walk from the beach. the main beach is beautiful, but there's a cove really close to la florida that is great if you're into snorkling! i had a brilliant holiday and would go back to la florida apartments! i recommend it for group holidays and couples!

We stayed at La Florida last year in October 2010, they were 'ok' and clean. We had a really bad apartment for location (right on the stairs 1st floor) and as there may as well be no windows for the amount of sound that comes through it was quite horrific for trying to sleep with people trudging up and down the stairs every 10 mins. We did ask to be moved but were told we would only get a worse room (I couldnt honestly see any rooms that were in a worse place than ours!!) The pool area was nice and clean. The bar area was nice as was the food. The apartments themselves were ok just very basic which is what we did expect. The location of the apartments arent good for a breeze and as the apartments dont have air con this is really bad especially if your a girl who needs to use your hair dryer! (I literally couldnt get ready to go out for dripping with sweat!) Your about 20 mins walk from the main strip in Puerto Del Carmen (we would of booked elsewhere closer if we had of known this but this was our first time to Lanzarote) All in all I wouldnt stay again even if the holiday was cheaper than last time. We have just come back from another 10 days and stayed in Kontiki Apartments - we were expecting the same as the same star (so not much!) but had an amazing time with fab apartments at the same star rating and actually cheaper!! (Plus a great breeze through the apartment because of the location on a hill)
Re the Purple Turtle restaurant that everyone raves about, we go away to eat on our holidays and this place wasnt much cop!! Everyone raves about it but it was just basic almost tastless pub grub that wasnt even that cheap. My advice would be to walk the 20 mins to the main strip as we did every day and eat there, you have literally hundreds of choices!
