Minotel Club House Hotel

I had a great time in Kilkenny and i found teh staff to be very helpfull indeed the night porter was aboslutly lovely and very helpfull. Yes the residents bar is in a funny position but besides that i had an absolute ball.

We enjoyed a lovely week-end at Club House Hotel. The food was excellent, staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely bedroom with full size bathroom. We had a beautiful dinner in the hotel on Sunday night, followed by top-class music in the bar. Having read the other reviews, I was anxious about going to this hotel, but I need not have worried as it was top class. I will certainly be going back. We stayed at this hotel for the weekend. We had a few rooms booked and paid 140 euros p.p. When we got there we went straight to our rooms which were clean but nothing special. I was in two of the rooms and neither TV remote worked. The shower in our room sprayed everywhere and drowned the floor. On the Saturday night the staff in the dining room were overheard telling someone to tell rooms overhead to to fix their shower door cos the diners were getting wet!!! After looking at the web-site and reading a customers comments we thought we were in for a treat. Boy were we wrong. It's advertised as a "Period Hotel" but they didn't mention what period. Maybe "Stone Age" would have been a better description. The only good thing we can say about the Club House is it's near a lovely Hotel called The Hibernian and if you are looking for style, comfort and friendly staff we highly recommend The Hibernian Hotel. Wherever you stay I hope you enjoy your visit to medievel Kilkenny City.

great location for wandering the streets of kilkenny. pleasant staff, comfortable room, nice breakfast----n cplaints from me!

The motel attached to the back of this "Georgian" hotel is like a rundown 60's roadhouse. It's lack of charm is only relieved by the drunken teenagers hanging out at the rear of the downstairs pub. If you like watching public urination, you'll enjoy your stay.
