Clybaun Hotel

Stayed 2 nights in a family room. Nice to find a hotel with the right number of beds for a family without having to book an expensive suite. The hotel is clean and comfortable. No character though as it is a typical hotel of its time built a few years ago with the advantage of recent tax breaks in the middle of a residential area off a roundabout. This is my second time staying here and I quite liked it first time around. But I feel compelled to write a second time about it. We checked in and found that there were two receptionists. One checked us in and the other browsed through BEBO right in front of us. So it was a mixed start. We checked in to the room and the first thing I saw was a sweet wrapper on the floor! It shows me that housekeeping was negligent in checking it. We rang for an iron at around six and rang again at twenty past to be told that they were looking... more

The day staff is wonderful. The night man was very lazy and didnt want to move.There are young children unsupervised running up and down the halls and threw the lobby up and down the elevators and not one person said a word. so if that dosent bother you .its a good place to stay .there was also garbage in the hallways too.Oh and our blowdryer caught fire too.

After reading some reviews i was a bit worried about stying here, but am glad we gave it a chance. This is a very modern, clean & Comfortable hotel,. The staff were very friendly & helpful. And there is plenty of public transport to & from the Clybaun Hotel. It is about 10 mins drive from city, which i would prefer as the centre is way to busy for me & my family. I would recommend this hotel & will be back myself

A bizzare location in the middle of a vast housing estate on the edge of Galway with no public transport makes this more 'motel' than 'hotel'. The breakfast was very poor so I didn't hang around for dinner. On the up side there is an excellent gym, and the rooms were clean and functional. The ideal hotel for those with a car and no taste.
