Had a great time
My husband and I stayed at the hotel with friends for a three day break over hogmanay. We go away quite a lot for weekend breaks and this was one of the friendliest we have stayed in. We found the staff to be very helpfull with any queries or problems we mentioned to them. There was not a lot of choice on the set menu but what was on the menu was very good only problem we had was finishing the amount we got on the plate. Would certainly go back again and would recommend it to friends.
Needs finishing off properly!
This hotel was advertised as being for the discerning lady traveller...not so sure this is true.Very basic decor and more like a travelodge. I thought the entrance looked nice but not so impressed with my room. I had to request it was cleaned again as there were biscuits over the floor- otherwise standard acceptable though the cutains were awful. I had a nice street view although a little stuffy. Breakfast was acceptable as long as you stuck to the poached eggs- evening meal was simply microwaved ?how can that be 'a la carte'. I... more
Horrid place, horrible stay
On the way past reception the wallpaper was ripped. Room #1: The room was tiny and the hot smell of chip fat was coming up into the room from the kitchens. The window was frosted glass and hard to get to. After opening we realised why it was frosted glass, looking down into a dark hole with pigeon poop on the window. Ran the bath from the shower head as the bath tap wouldnt go on, hot steam filled the place. Opened window to cool down but the smell of chip fat came in and made everything smell. Had to close the window, was... more
A great place to stay
I will certainly come back here again, such comfort, staff are excellent, food very good. A home away from home.
Don't do it!
Booked for 2 nights but checked out after only 1. First impressions were favourable as the reception area had obviously been recently refurbished and was bright modern and clean. However at check in we found we had been booked into the wrong room (a lower priced room than we had requested) which was small, dirty and horrible. We returned to Reception to complain and after initially being told no other rooms were available, we were eventually offered another room at the reduced rate. This room seemed a bit better but again did not seem... more
Not a bad wee place.
We stayed at this comfortable little hotel during the summer of 2003. Our room was small but clean with an ensuite bathroom. Dinner was pretty good although the service was quite slow. Good central location and pleasant staff.

on their online enquiry service form, it is stated <a member of our experienced and friendly reservations staff will get back to you as soon as possible. in most cases this will be within 12hrs.> i can confirm that this is true. i requested a quiet room and got one. the hotel is a short walk from the coach and train stations. friendly staff.
