I and my wife Doris had been saving...

Jun 2007, theJOLLYrodger

I and my wife Doris had been saving up are coppers for a long time to go on this holiday, and I must admit I think we’re going to stick to our caravan again next year after this bizarre holiday.
On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by gypsies trying to sell us (dodgy!) sunglasses and gold, after escaping the gypsies we made our way to the front desk, where we had to wait 35mins and are only compensation for waiting was a wine gum given to us by manager’s son.
When we first got into are room me and Doris thought we’d have a power nap before we went out to explore, but after 5 mins kip we were woken up by bungle the barman at the pool playing hardcore techno music, we thought we were in Ibiza!
The food at the hotel was fairly nice although there was always a little German boy trying to steal all the doughnuts! The sausages there were nice I would recommend them but id stay clear of the goat’s cheese, it looks and smells very funny!
Rooms were always tidy though and staff friendly we even took one of the Spanish maids Rita, out for dinner one night to say thank you for cleaning are room, she didn’t speak much English though, so Doris tried out some of her Spanish lingo on her and I think that was even more confusing, it was a good night though.
All in all though this isn’t a bad hotel and there’s plenty to do like bingo, water polo, fishing I was definitely on the crap!
The staff were friendly and we even bought one of dj bungles techno Cd’s at the end of the holiday as a souvenir.
Unfortunately though I think this will be the first and last time me and Doris venture across the big ocean, we'll stick to old Mable our caravan next year!

Just returned from 1 week from Hell!...

Jun 2007, Mrs M Kirby

Just returned from 1 week from Hell! We were not told about building work around the Hotel. Whichever side of the Pool you lay all you could see were cranes!
Walls extremely thin could hear couple next door having constant arguments! Signs in corridors stated for people to be quiet between the hours of midnight and 8.00am - what a joke! People screaming and shouting all hours of the night - kids running and screaming down the corridor.
We are a family of four. There were four beds just crammed into a twin room - absolutely disgusted! Could not even open the balcony door because the bed was blocking the door!
Would never ever recommend this Hotel - just does not cater for English - only catered for Dutch and Germans who the most obnoxious people I have ever met!

May 2007, Mr C Bryan

We booked a 10 night holiday in the Olympic Park and I can honestly say it is the worst 4 star hotel I have ever stopped in.
The food was rubbish, the entertainment was very poor the only thing worth watching was the flamenco dances.
The swimming pools were too cold to swim in. There was building work next door which we were never told about. As for the rooms, the walls were so thin you could have a conversation with your next door neighbour.
At the dining room we were told to wait to be seated twice we went down and people were walking straight in, my husband and I followed everyone, twice and were brought back to wait. It seemed to us that if you were English your face didn't fit.
This Hotel certainly does not cater for the English and I would never return.

Lovely clean hotel, spotless rooms...

May 2007, Miss J Seddon

Lovely clean hotel, spotless rooms cleaned on a daily basis however walls are very thin and beds very squeaky! Building work going on directly opposite the pool cranes and diggers blaring away all day! Was never told by company before booking! Never tasted such bland food it was disgusting for a four star hotel you get better food in a 2*! Breakfast was a cop out unless you’re used to bread and cheese or hard boiled eggs that were black in the middle. Not worth getting up for! As being all inclusive and from previous holidays on all inclusive I expected more variety from the bar I got sick of beer and Pepsi! One cocktail was allowed for all Inc visitors and you got sick of that by day 2! Very rude bar staff as they knew they weren’t getting any money from all inclusive people we were stood at the bar for anything up to an 20mins trying to get served! Very rude receptionist never smiled served every tom dick and harry Spanish or German person before the English! If it wasn’t for the sun and the people we met there I would have got the first flight home!

Oct 2006, Mrs C Smith

Just returned from week at the Olympic Park - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We researched the hotels in Lloret before booking, as it was our first taster of not booking a package deal. We booked cheap flights through Ryanair and then picked this hotel due to its good reviews.
We were not disappointed. The facilities were excellent, cleanliness was great and the food - well what can I say! We do like to try everything when away - and there was a vast selection to choose from. In fact, we have eaten so much we are glad to come back and start a diet! Also, there is excellent evening entertainment provided.
The waiting and reception staff are very friendly and helpful, with the receptionist offering advice on places to visit and facilities in the local area. Also all the staff made a big fuss of my 3 year old, which helped make the holiday special.
The Olympic Park is very handy - its just out of the main hustle and bustle but only about a 10 or 15 min steady walk to the shops and beach - all flat, so easy with a buggy. The only thing we found was that, as we had chosen October, the pools (and there are several at the hotel!) were a bit too cold to enjoy, but we will probably go back earlier in the year for that reason.
So yes - we would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel (especially for families).

Sep 2006, Mr D. A. Godfrey

Having read other reviews, I was prepared for some gripes, but I would be hard pressed to find fault. The only complaint I have was the inadequate provision of elevators; there are only three, that have a maximum capacity of four people, which has to serve four floors. This lead to long delays at peak times; particularly when one lift was out f order for three days.
The food is excellent, and there is always something suitable; when the fact that they cater foe many, varied European tastes. The accommodation is comfortable, and cleaned daily. The hotel complex is situated within easy walking distance of the town, shops, and beach.
All in all we have a very good holiday there and would visit the complex again, but not with the same tour operator, which gave a very poor standard of service.

Great. I went to this hotel with a group of people I loved it.
The food was excellent and the location was too.
About 5 mins from the beach. It is a very clean, smart hotel with lots of sun loungers by the pool.

Jul 2006, Mrs L Hibet

Went to Olympic Park in 2004 f-b, liked it a lot, returned to Olympic Suites Sept 2006 all-in, couldn’t fault it again, are returning again all-in Aug 2006 and cannot wait. Our party has swelled from 5 the first trip, to 7 the second trip and the one coming up 11 of us. I honestly cannot find anything but good to say about this complex. The staff, food facilities, location are all brilliant, not far from Lloret town centre, busses provided for days out , packed lunches on request, plenty of sun lounges we never went with out. Thomas Cook honoured all our requests when we booked i.e. low floor & adjacent rooms. My husband who walks with crutches was escorted on the plane ahead of everyone else. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the service in the restaurant was excellent, plenty of choice. Maid service also excellent, clean towels all the time. Transport from the airport was good, no delays. All in all a perfect complex for all ages. We will not go less than all-in on holiday again. The location is in a nice quiet spot. The lay out of this hotel is great, you get to walk the full length of the hotel without even having to go outside. Perfect.

Jul 2006, Mr JD Dunt

The hotel was excellent, the pool area was lovely, the room was great, the air conditioning in the room was brilliant, the food was good as well a brilliant choice. The only thing I would say was that the bed room walls were not very thick, you could hear everything! That went on in the room next to you.
The staff at the hotel were great as well, very friendly and always wanted a chat. But the tour operator MyTravel were not very good at all, both flights were delayed the cabin crew were very snappy and moody, also they took forever to answer to the call light on the plane.
Also the rep in our resort was not very helpful, she was very short and useless in giving directions to other activities, once sending us the wrong way. But other than that the holiday and the resort was excellent!

Its great an absolutely cracking holiday, wouldn’t go if you were a bit older, but its great if your a young couple.
The hotel was very nice and clean, very welcoming and quiet of a night time, apart from some activities which go on in the bedroom, as the walls are very thin so you can hear everything.
The town is lovely not cheap but not very over priced and not far from places like Barcelona for a day out.

On arrival of this hotel we were...

Jul 2005, Miss S Rennie

On arrival of this hotel we were greeted by a drunken 20 something being carried out on a luggage trolley, which made myself (never being abroad before) quite worried about what I had gotten into. However, we were greeted at the reception desk and once we got settled in found that that incident was pure mishap.
The food was delicious, very rich but you just simply had to go back for more, one night they had porfiteroles (pastry filled with cream) and you could pour your own chocolate sauce over them - it was heaven! So over all I thought the food was fabulous and our only regret was that we didn’t go all inclusive.
The pools were amazing and very spacious whether you wanted to laze peacefully on a sun lounger or have a drink at the pool bar - paradise! We also used the indoor pool as we got quite sunburnt and it was a godsend!
We also thought that the entertainment was very good as they had to cater for many different nationalities and despite there not being a lot of British holidaymakers there were the occasional few more towards the end of the week but still, our neighbours were from Germany and they were very friendly.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and resort, it being on the edge of Lloret gives you the chance to either relax in the hotel in which your day will pass away or head into the hustle and bustle of the town end and have a drink in the bars or laze on the beach - either way you’ll have fun!

At Olympic resort we stayed in the Olympic suites hotel. The room was very clean and tidy, being cleaned every day, also new towels daily.
Restaurant food had a great deal to offer most people as it was being varied most days.
Pool and surroundings also was kept clean.
Evening entertainment very good as had to deal with a variety of nationalities.
The shops and main bars are only a ten minute slow walk away and the beach just past the shops.
