Had a great night!
My partner and I stayed at the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness for 1 night including dinner, bed & breakfast for a one off special stay whilst we were up in Inverness wedding planning. We were immediately greeted with excellent service from the receptionist and porter who went out to our car in the rain and carried our bags to our room. Hotel reception layout & decor was impressive and so was our room. Plenty of space just for the 2 of us. The bathroom was large with a bath and a separate shower cubicle (which was very spacious). Both rooms... more
Wonderful stay
We travel up to Inverness regularly and have meant to try the Drumossie for a while. So glad we did. The reception area and lounge are beautiful - an impressive entrance. Our room overlooked the gardens, was a good size, beautifully decorated with a fantastic bathroom. Complimentary whisky and sparkling water in the room was a great touch. We stayed in a hotel in East Kilbride near Glasgow 2 weeks ago where the attitude of the staff was shocking but the Drumossie staff were fantastic. What a difference. We will certainly be back.
Lacks something!
I stayed at the Drumossie hotel for two nights in May and was disappointed with my room. The hotel public areas are beautiful, but when I opened the door to my room I was suprised it was so small it had an interconnecting door and my husband and I could clearly hear our neighbour's conversations the entire stay. I managed to see another room while I was there, as family were staying also and they had a fantastic room, nothing like ours. We stayed two nights, they stayed one and definitely got the better deal. Overall the hotel is nice, but... more
Nice hotel
We stayed at this hotel for three nights, we specified that we wanted a room overlooking the moray firth but instead we overlooked the carpark! Managed to get moved to room 205 but disaster! This room although very clean was very noisy, due to a pump near to our room (it was a continuous noise all the time) The reception staff were not bothered at all when we complained. The food was good although very rich. Not much to do around the hotel you definately need a car as too far to walk anywhere.
Overpriced party temple...
During a splendid 10-day tour through the highlands this was our most terrible experience of a hotel. While the rooms are ok, recently renovated, most of them face the parking lot which can be quite noisy at night. The main reason for that was the hotel's focus on wedding and other parties. At least for our 2 nights stay we had a party til 3am every night. Paying a 195 Pounds a night for a hotel that does not offer much else is quite outrageous. Complaining about this situation didn't have an effect -- we were ignored most of the... more
service made it!
Staff were superb, and allowed us room service for dinner on our DBB rate - as we had our baby with us it was difficult to eat together in the restaurant. comfortable rooms and excellent food.
Exeptional
What a lovely suprise! Hubby and I decided to have a romantic night away........... YES. We have had some disasters.. BUT What a treasure ! The new Drummosie was recommended by a friend, so hopped in the car, an hour or so down the road, and VOILA. There was the Secret of the Highlands. The hotel is located about 20 mins outside Inverness City, although one could be forgiven for thinking it is in the remote Highlands. The hotel itself is immaculatly presented, not a whiff of dust anywhere, loads of comfy... more
Best 4 Star Hotel I have stayed in
As someone who has stayed in many hotels due to the nature of my job,I rate this one as the best four star hotel I have ever stayed in.From the warm welcome, immaculate rooms, courteous staff and exquisite dining, made my stay memorable. I will certainly use this hotel every time I am up on business in the highlands.
A gem of a hotel - a real Highland welcome
A fantastic hotel, well worth the money for both the accommodation and meals. From arrival at reception until departure, all staff were extremely courteous and genuinely friendly. The standards of staff service were above those I have encountered previously in any hotel! The bedroom was spacious and very well appointed (a very nice touch was a decanter with scotch in the room - more than enough for two guests). The public areas are also very comfortable, welcoming and relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner were gourmet... more
Romance and Jaguars
June 2006, first romantic break with girlfriend and really wanted to impress. Recommended hotel by a friend and he was spot on. Called hotel direct, reservation clerck was very helpful, as was all the staff. Booked one of the rooms with the King size four poster bed, chocolates, flowers and champers, well worth it just to see the look on girfriend face. Room was very spacious, clean and inviting, bathroom to die for, as was the rest of the hotel. We had booked dinner, bed and breakfast. Breakfasts were great but the evening meals, out... more
