The Merchant Lodge Hotel

As we checked into the hotel, we asked the receptionist if our room would be quiet. She assured us we wouldn't have any problems. She was an expert liar. The hotel is next to a booming club and we listened to drunk people bumble around the road. The music vibrated throughout the room. At one in the morning, we checked out and were given a full refund. It's as if they were expecting us to leave their trash hotel.

My wife and IsStayed at the Merchant Lodge last week while in Glasgow for a family wedding celebration. We found it to be very comfortable and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the City Centre. After a good nights sleep, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast cooked by a friendly and cheerful chef then prepared to leave for home. Stayed one night at the Merchant last March at the end of a trip from U.S. to Blackpool, England by way of Glasgow & Icelandair. I settled on the Merchant after an internet search, mostly because it seemed convenient to the train station and the price was right.
