Hotel Helios Lloret de Mar

First of all I would like to say it is worth reading all of this as there are good bits in here and I will get the mouning done first!!!!!!!
This place is over run with German people majority of which are rude aragunt noisey and childish.
Chucking water bombs off balconys and drawing pins trying to pop car tyres balcony hopping playing loud music on balconys all hours even in the day time I am not saying all of them are like this, would also add that the majority of these and the resort are of 18 to 30's no place for children.
Helios is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in regards to the food and a few of the staff the rooms a basic and very clean with airconditioning which is a bonus, the food is catered for the Germans of course !!!!! as the hotel is trying to attract Germans.
Couple of the bar staff were very ignorant seemed to be only with the English guests, although a few of them were very pleasnt when they finaly spoke.
Going back to the food, I booked full board although we never had one meal in the hotel as only apertising to the Germans I would like to coment on the damp smell in the restaruant and the strong smell of fish on the fith floor really bad.
It is very expensive in lloret for meals and drinks normal two meals a day for a family of three for a week at the lowest priced resteraunts for costs well in excess of £900 came home broke, we did save a lot of money by going to Bravehearts fantastic scottish bar.
Our balcony was over looking the hotel next door extreamly nosiey, night and day so hardly any sleep which was the distance of a single lane road our balcony was far too close to the neighbouring hotel, balcony was also sloped so very dangerious.
There is little to no Live entertainment in costa brava due to the spanish law, if you have a bar or hotel you can only have live entertainment from 5 in the afternoon till midnight and you can only open till 5 in the morning after that you would haft remain closed. so a lot of the pubs and cafe bars decide not to put entertainment on as they lose day trade.
The only place you will find music in lloret de mar is in the discos again geared up for the 18 to 30's so if your into that great have a blast.
There is nothing for kids except day activities Water world / Marine land and boat trips and a few bowling places and Crazy golf and that's it although these are very good.
This is the good part, we arrived on the Wednesday by Sunday we packed our cases ready to come home earley we were fed up as our we man was boared stiff and which was frustrating, we had a enough.
Determined to find somthing and we did, which saved our holiday a fantastic Scottish bar called Bravehearts which is Kid friendly fantastic. proper full scotish breakfast which is absolutly yummy for a shockingly cheap price of 5 euros 50 you get an egg black pudding square sausage bacon pancake and beans and a roll and cheap good quality drinks the owners and the staff extreamly nice people they looked after us.

If you do go to Lloret de mar check this pub out it is absolutly fantastic you will love it not matter who you are.
If you do go there ask John to do his braveheart shuffle will have you in stiches.
I have been told from the end of the secound week in september lots of british people arrive in lloret so probably better to go then for those that have already booked I really hope this helps to save your holiday, we were not prepared.
