Premier Beardmore Hotel

I live a short drive from the hotel and use it for friends who come to visit. the hotel boasts a health suite with a relaxing pool sauna gym and free provision of fluffy towel and robes if needed as well as fresh fruit and a lovely relaxing lounge. the staff are really friendly and helpful. there is a lovely restaurant anda nice little coffee bar. it is adjacent to the river clyde and it will be right at the hub of refurbishment area. the same hotel in the city would cost double the price. I am astounded that no one has made more mention of this! The Beardmore Hotel, for all it's an average chain hotel - is in the SAME BUILDING as the hospital. It shares the entrance - upon arrival it's unclear whether you are checking into a hotel or booking in to the hospital. In fact, our room overlooked a hospital ward where I could see the beds, screens, pulleys and medical staff wandering around. Just returned from a Scotland trip that began and ended at the Beardmore due to pre-bookings. While the grounds are very pleasant (adjacent to the Clyde itself and blissfully quiet for being in a big city), a number of the staff we encountered were surly and seemed resentful to be working there. We stayed at this hotel on 14th February and the service at the 'B-bar' restaurant was appalling. Firstly, we had to wait to be seated, then the staff did not know what we had ordered. We waited 30 mins between the starter and main course. Then the steak was undercooked, and was still undercooked having been sent back. The staff walked about the restaurant with plates asking people what they had ordered! This is a 4 star hotel. We had to laugh!
