Please don't stay here.
The staff are rude, unhelpful and will do nothing to help you enjoy your stay in Glasgow.
The rooms are dusty, smelly, poorly decorated, poorly insulated. The bathroom was falling apart, holes in the wall open to cables! The noise from other rooms was astonishing, surely the walls were made out of more than jusr the wallpaper. RThe managment were also rude and appeared to never be around or return any messages. The breakfast is appaling, the waitresses are shockingly bad, no service more just shouting Hot Breakfast from the door and hoping someone says yes.
Please once again, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

Devoncove...

My boyfriend and I booked a double room for 2nights a good few months ago... On arrival we were greeted by a really friendly receptionist who was very willing to help as we did not know the area at all.
On entering our room we discovered that we were actually in a twin room (but the beds had been pushed together, unfortunately this meant that there was still a gap between them). The hotel was nowhere near full so we were disappointed with the room that had been given to us.
The next day we asked for assistance with how to get into town... it was a different receptionist who gave us no help whatsoever and was in fact quite rude! Also, our full breakfast consisted of an egg, a sausage and a fatty lump of bacon, very impersonal service from the waitresses who stood metres from our table and merely shouted "cooked breakfast? yes? no?" and then returned with the pathetic plate described above!
Later on, it was again the original receptionist who again was really happy to help, called us a taxi into town and chatted with us about our day. She really made our stay a nice experience, if all the staff had been like her it would have made a huge difference.
A clean hotel, fine for a place to lay your head. Unfortunately the rude front of house staff spoiled our overall view of the place.

A nice, cosy, unpretentious hotel in...

A nice, cosy, unpretentious hotel in Glasgow's West End. Good prices when booking last minute, helpful staff, clean rooms, and a decent breakfast (no tatties though, or haggis, hmm...).
Hotel is easy to get to from rail/bus routes, and within walking distance of the City Centre. Glasgow's an interesting city, and this hotel's worth a look if you're in that neck of the woods.

Made a total disaster of our trip...

Feb 2007, Miss R Millar

Made a total disaster of our trip away. Although we booked quite late we still expected to have a nice stay.
I and my boyfriend travelled from Ireland to Glasgow to attend a football match.
We had received a phone call to say there was a problem with our room and we would be transferred to a different hotel which wasn't far away.
We later received another call to say they had found us a room in their hotel. Upon arriving we were told our room had been cancelled.
My boyfriend went on to the match and I stayed behind to sort it out, after an hour I was given the address of another hotel "close by".
This hotel was in actual fact 20 miles away and this cost a total of 70 pounds in taxi fares...not only did I miss the match but I was out of pocket at the end of the trip.
Would not recommend this hotel.
