Oasis Agadir Hotel

i visited the oasis hotel in Agadir on the 1st aug07 for a week, i travelled with thomas cook, and didnt like the service i was given. I had the worst hoilday ever, i visited morocco with my friend, we are two young ladies under 25yrs old and do not recommend this hoilday to any one who is under 35yrs old. The oasis hotel is very clean and staff are very friendly, but the food is terrible and the hotel has nothing for you to do after 9.30pm. Excellent holiday, would definitely return to this hotel. The room was clean and well maintained and the air conditioning was a life saver. The staff were fun, friendly, helpful and will be sadly missed!

We've just got back from a week in Agadir having really enjoyed ourselves. The town itself was as expected, modern and dreary, but there was plenty to keep us busy. We stayed in the Hotel Oasis which has a good location for the beach, the promenade and many restaurants. We travelled to Agadir at the end of July for one week, booked via Thomas Cook. We stayed at the Oasis hotel and had a fantastic holiday. The hotel is located towards the port end of Agadir, an ideal location for restaurants and the beach. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk away and is very pretty. You have to cross quite a busy road but this didnt cause us any problems. It is a holiday resort for Moroccans as well so it can be very busy. After reading some of the reviews we were a little worried about what we should expect but it was completely different. Think some of these people must have been to a different place. The hotel was in a really good location and had lovely views over agadir. The reception area was massive and full of sofas and chairs to relax in out the sun. The rooms were lovely as well (a little small but still room for cases after unpacking and plenty of storage space!) i booked this hotel before reading the reviews, and i'll admit i did think, 'oh my god - what have we done.' but the reviews were in my opinion way out. The hotel was lovely - definatly one of the best in the area. The rooms were gorgeous, clean and very moroccan in decor, the staff are fantastic, they really cant do enough for you. We had a sea view room which did get a bit noisy because of the main road, but we didnt have any problems sleeping through it, if youre a light sleeper mind i'd request a pool view, much quieter. As always we read reviews on the hotel so we knew we weren't expecting anything amazing. Upon arrival we were quickly allocated a room we were even given a sea view! The room was lovely a little small as we were only staying B&B a kitchen would of been great. We needed to switch rooms because the "sea view" was on a busy main road and it was way to noisy. The Hotel Oasis has a pleasant feel, considering our total cost for stay was only £250 per person per week including flights and transfers then in terms of value this hotel is excellent. ( Probably cost less than £20 per night!!) The reception area is spacious but not flash, the rooms clean tidy and perfectly adequate with the usual stuff in english on the tele CNN, BBC World, Eurosport. We've just returned from a week in Agadir, Morocco and were sorely disappointed. The hotel itself was ok but I was not impressed by the resort and this spoilt our time here. On arrival, the hotel looked very impressive as we walked into reception and the outside pool area is gorgeous. Our room was not as good as we hoped. Cannot believe that the October reviewer stayed at the same hotel! It is located right next to the main North/South through route of Agadir so that there is traffic noise 24 hours/day. Although it is only 300-400 yards from the beach you have to walk down a muddy track past all sorts of rubbish - otherwise it is a long roundabout walk. The Reception area gives a good impression but once past there the hotel generally does not warrant even a 2-star - never could it be described as 3+ (as our tour operators brochure) or 4-star.... more
