EXCELENTE
I´ve decided to write a review after reading many absurd things in other reviews.......I stayed at Riviera 20-27th february and I was a bit scared due to the comments made by other travellers. It was the best holidays ever and that includes the hotel.First of all, even if its true that distances are long I dont think its such an issue,I mean,if someone isnt able to walk 500m from the room to the lobby-bar-restaurant.....for sure its not your hotel,Riviera Maya isnt the place for you cos you won´t find all those horrible 25-storey... more
Wonderful time at the Riviera!!
My family of four (two teenagers 14 and 18) have just returned from the Grand Riviera Resort and Spa for a week's stay - March 11 to March 18th, 2006. We had a wonderful time at the resort. The weather was beautiful, the rooms were new and immaculate and the service was for the most part above average. The beach down by the Colonial was beautiful and although people still "save" beach chairs early in the morning, we never had a problem finding a great place to enjoy the sand and sun. However that being said...this resort is not... more
Awesome going back
Nothing is true of the nay sayers reviews. You want fun gotta make it and we sure did!!!!!! Oh my gosh it was a blast. There is so much to do in so little time. If you dont want to relax and enjoy the never ending cocktails, pool, sun or FOOD GALORE! Gotta try a dirty monkey drink AWESOME STUFF. the resort offers snorkling, catamarans, parasailing at resort and other off sight adventures such as swimming with dolphins snorkling in caves ect...The pool side FUN TEAM taught salsa dancing, best pool jump ect.. they are a hoot.If your a fun... more
Our Royal Week at the Grand Palladium Riviera
We spent a wonderful week at the Grand Palladium Riviera February 18 to 25, 2006. Three sisters and their spouses enjoyed this vacation. Upon arrival at the beautiful lobby, we were thrilled to learn that we had been upgraded to the Royal Suites! The suites were larger than usual, and very accomodating. The balcony had a large jacuzzi, along with two chairs for relaxing. We were in Villa 71 in the Royal Suites section. The location was very convenient. It was a nice walk to the beach, which was rocky, but beautiful close to the... more
Many Problems
Our group, 8 rooms were at Gr. Palladium Riviera late January. Three rooms didn't have major problems. All of us didn't appreciate the long walk to get to anything, in some cases more than one half mile just to the pool. The eating places were further. The distance was only part of the problem. Riviera resort requires also walking over bridges, 36 steps each. Even very physically fit people were falling on these steps as beach shoes are not conducive to uneven wooden steps. The beach near Riviera is not where people would go in the... more
Not as bad as some reviewers said......
We just came back yesterday. It was a great trip. We booked the White Sands but got upgraded to Royal Suites in Riviera. The rooms were large with spa tub on the terrace. Very nice feature however we did not use it. We were on the ground floor and were on display. Sections of the newer part of the Resort are still being worked on (gardening etc). I think that when you take into account that this is Mexico, and not a North American resort, things are more laid back and they do not have all of the amenities that we are used to. Yes, some... more
Not broken in yet..not ready for prime season!
We stayed at the Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa from February 18th - 25th, 2006. I know this is long but I wanted to capture everything. We booked and paid for the Colonial/Kantenah side, but when we arrived we were upgraded to the new Riviera side. The Colonial/Kantenah side overbooked by 200 rooms. We didn't want the upgrade we wanted the original side but they refused. The Riviera side is nice, it's brand new. But it is not up for prime season yet. We had ants in our bed and our room the first night, they had to change... more
Great time, but too short of a trip.
We spent a long weekend FunJet vacation at the Grand Palladium Riviera Resort from February 16th - 19th. We upgraded with our travel agent into a Royal Suite which was well worth the few extra dollars. Our room was up on the 3rd floor and had 2 balconies. The smaller one had only a couple chiars and a table, while the large one off the bedroom had reclining chiars, a table, a HUGE hot tub. We used the hot tub every night and the seclusion allowed my wife to sit in the morning sun without her top on. The Royal Suites are the newest... more
A Fabulous Vacation
We are fortunate to have vacationed at the Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa for two weeks (Feb 05-19). I cannot say enough about this first class resort. Right from check in to check out everything was done professionally by all the staff. The resort doubled in size with the Riviera and White Sands opening on December 20, 2005. In lieu of the weather last year, this resort not only survived but has excelled. We stayed in the Royal Riviera section (adults only) and it met all expectations. We are already planning a return trip. The... more
Newest part of Grand Palladium less than grand
We were less than satisfied with our trip to the Grand Palladium in the Riviera Maya, Jan. 6th -13th Our room was in the far southeastern corner of the Riviera Maya portion of this complex, which we understand just opened in December. The good points were that the room was beautiful and comfortably furnished, the complex was attractive, the food in the buffet restaurant was good, the food and service in the Rodizio restaurant were excellent, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there were numerous negatives.... more
