Inn at Lathones Hotels

The staff was not especially warm. We were expecting tons of charm, but room was shabby and charmless. Highly overrated. In their favor, tho, I left a jacket there, and without me even calling them, they mailed it all the way to the States.

Had 3 course Sunday lunch there recently. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and food tasted okay, but portions tiny! I usually can't manage 3 courses at lunchtime, but was glad I had the soup as well, otherwise I would have been starving with 2 courses! Come on , where were the veg? 2 sticks of asparagus and a few mangetout are ridiculous, and let's face it, veg are cheap! It's just not good enough, especially as we Scots are being encouraged to eat more fruit and veg! So less of the art please and let's have something a bit more... more

Stayed here two years ago. The service was poor, rooms overpriced and damp - in summer! This tried to be a luxury country house hotel but failed to make the grade, in our opinion. We were astonished to hear it had been granted four stars. The prices were just not justifed by this level of comfort and service. The food was good, but not fantastic. All round, a great disappointment which did not live up to the hype and does nothing to promote the image of Scottish tourism.
