Scores Hotel

Hotel is in a nice location, however that is where the pleasance ends. While the hotel has been kept clean and in fact the cleaning staff very pleasant, I couldn't understand why the desk staff weren't the same. We were made to feel extremely unwelcome. We had to carry our baggage up a large flight of stairs.Rooms while large enough, were dark and of typical cheap hotel decor. In all mediocre, wouldn't stay here again, will find another hotel on our return to lovely St.Andrews.

We had a wonderful stay at the Scores Hotel. We were in a magnificent bedroom, very large, with fantastic views and a very spacious bathroom. A lovely sitting area in the bedroom was an extra we didn't expect. We booked dinner bed and breakfast and have to say that the meal at Alexanders was absolutely first class and very reasonable in price given the high standard of food. Based on limited Tripadvisor reviews, I selected the Scores Hotel for a 2 night stay in April. My primary reasons for choosing the hotel were proximity to the Old/ New/ Eden clubhouse and price. After having completed our stay, I can offer several thoughts: - The Scores offers the best location in St. Andrews. While the Rusacks is equally close to the Old Course, the Scores is closer to town, offers a better view of the sea, and numerous free parking options. - The rooms are equal to a Marriott Courtyard standard. I stayed at this hotel Feb 2-4 2005 and found it very comfortable and friendly. It overlooks the old course at St. Andrews and a beautiful long sandy beach. The room I stayed in was large enough for three adults using a rollaway and the two twin beds. It had a seating area and a large desk. The rooms were extensively renovated 1 year ago, and the paint, carpets, and bedding look new. Tea/ hot chocolate service is complimentary with a tray and a hot pot. Stayed here in May 2004. The hotel and restaurant were perfectly enjoyable for a golf vacation. Reasonable price, decent service and close to the old course, the R&A musuem and Autcherlonies. Recommend for anyone who doesn't need US-style pampering.

Our room was on one of the recently refurbished floors in the hotel. We found the hotel room extremely dark despite plenty of light coming through the large window.The hotel walls are paper thin and we could hear everything that the couple next door were saying and doing, as well as what TV programme they were watching.The gents toilet on the ground floor was an absolute disgrace.

Extremely friendly and professional staff, very accomondating. More than adequate to meet our needs. Very comfortable and quiet including restaurant.
