Hotel Description:

This privately owned hotel the Prestonfield Edinburgh is the AA Hotel of the Year 2005 and the most talked-about hotel in Scotland. Opulent and indulgent it every way it is totally unique - privately-owned historic hotel and is rated one of the Best 101 Hotels in the World by Tatler and Abercrombie and Kent - Voyager confirm it as the stuff of pure fantasy - and by Conde Nast Traveller it is so extravagant it is like walking onto the set of some flamboyant costume drama.

" Spectacular stay at Prestonfield "

My Husband proposed to me at prestonfield in August 2006. I decided to return to the hotel to actually stay this time for my Husband's 30th. We were slightly worried that our little bubble may be burst as the proposal evening had been so spectacular. However we weren't disappointed. From the minute you arrive the service is amazing. Greeted at the front of the hotel by the concierge we were taken to the reception where we checked in and were told we had been upgraded to a suite.
The suite was amazing, classic FM was playing on the radio and we had chilled champagne and chocolate mousse awaiting us. Everything about the suite was as boudoir as the rest of the hotel. A huge four poster with so many cushions on the bed it took half an hour to get into! Two lovely bathrooms with complimantary toiletries and a lovely grand lounge area.
The evening meal was fabulous, amazing food, beautiful low lit and opulent surroundings and fabulous service.
If you are looking for a really special hotel then Prestonfield is it. I would recommend it to anyone.
