Overall great experience, centrally located, large room, clean bath, safe parking nearby, walking distance to beach and old town and superb breakfast...what more do u want?

I stayed here twice and got two completely different experiences. The first time I traveled solo and got a small, dark, moldy room with no view (it hardly had a pothole window that looked at another building 4 feet away). For the same price only one month later when traveling with my spouse, I got a room with a view of the beach, big windows, a sitting area and nice amenities. Each time I paid less than 100 Euros. The room was well equipped but quite small. We paid 150 euros for a Saturday night, including a very basic continental breakfast and were disappointed with the value provided.

Lovely old world hotel. Beautiful lobby and richly decorated rooms. Nice bathroom. The location was in downtown San Sebastian, only a block off the beach, with a quarter mile walk to the old town area. The room had a balcony overlooking the major street. We capped our 2 week stay in Europe at the Hotel Europa and loved it. The room was nice, clean and good size. The location was basically across the street from the beautiful, La Concha beach - very close to the old town center. For the price you can't beat it. Not only did it include free WiFi, beach towels, breakfast, but it also included a free round of Golf at Basozabal (a great course designed by José Maria Olazábal, [-]. You can't go wrong at Hotel Europa.

there was holes in the walls.....the beach was too far away....the scenery waw terrible... and the service was un exceptable...i will never return here ever again...i will not recomend this hotel to my friends.....and i will be returning from USA but i will not be checking in at this hotel....i wish i could get my money back... p.s. the breakfast [--].....its a waste of money....i was outraged by this placew

Spent four nights at this hotel in 2002. It's located on a one-way main street in central San Sebastian. Day and night the street echoes to the sounds of motorcycles and trail-bikes. Unfortunately, most of the hotel's rooms face the main street. The interior (lobby and breakfast room) is small and crowded. My room was small. The hotel has no parking but directs you to an underground parking lot about two blocks away. The garage was more difficult to find than was the hotel. Hotel was a nice size by Europe standards. Bathroom was modern. Location very good, 1 block to beach, close to shops, 10 min to old town. I think the price of 140 euros is a bit high, if it was 110 or so I would think it fair. My room was next to what seemed to be 15 drunk spaniards making very loud noises, I would expect this is not the norm though. Breakfast good, fresh squeezed OJ was nice touch.

My husband and I arrived in Donostia late and without hotel reservations, so we were prepared to pay a high price. Hotel Europa wasn't bad for our timing and the location is great, just two short blocks from the beach and only a few minutes from the old town. The rooms are small, clean and the staff is very nice.
