had originally planned to stay in our motorhome for 4 days but only stayed for 2,we took our 7 year old and chose this site for the amusements and club etc only to find theses were actually closed! did they not feel the need to mention this on their website! really empty site so was bemused that they chose to pitch us in the field that was directly next to what can only be described as a blooming racetrack. also the first receptionist i met at check in was so miserable and moany because my name and online booking ref was apparantly not enough,im sure it isnt that taxing considering how flipping empty they were.wont stay again

An Honest Opinion

I've taken the family here four times now, three times we stayed in Ashvale and once at Marine Park.
Everytime we have had a really nice holiday, the vans have been in good condition each time, ranging from a reasonably new one to a few older ones.
The staff are great, the reception staff, the shop lady and the entertainment crew, it's a cheezy holiday in a way and thats what makes it, you get kiddy stuff to start the evening, then bingo, then games and then cabaret topped off with a bit of disco at the end, this is the Ashvale experience btw.
The pool is overlooked by the bar, and at night you have a lovely view of Torquay in the distance, there's plenty to do, Brixham,Go Karting, the Zoo is out of this world, and the model village and Bygones are good days out, throw in the beaches and a visit to Totnes where you will find a ceramic/glass shop that has some truly great stuff sold in it, then there's the marble factory and the steam railway, there is just so many good things to do, oh I forgot Kents Caverns didn't I, we won entry at bingo the first year we went to the Beverley holidays, that and £50, it would've been £100 but another couple got the full house at the same time.
In the club you will find Mr Mansfield and his trusty sidekick Matt, these two bounce off each other really well, and they are nice guys, one year we had a van opposite the entertainment crews accomodation, this resulted in one of the girls little sister playing outside with my two, and a general bit of banter swapping sides, Mr Mansfield is a Southampton fan, even though he should really be a Bournemouth fan, once he knew where I was from he made a point of telling the crowd how good Sothampton FC was (this was in 2005 btw) as time went on he got quieter as Saint's dropped divisions, but it was always good fun and well intented banter, the guy is a fantastic sax player as well, bit of a jack of all trades musically, Matt is just a nut, but a very nice one and he will spend time with you if you want him to.
Overall this family owned chain of parks represents really good value and a good holiday, they don't allow single sex parties, and any problems like we had regarding a Welsh family who liked to feed seagulls dirty nappies are delt with swiftly, it took the cleaner 3 hours to clean their van when they left, this however was the only time I felt uncomfortable, but that wasn't any fault of the park, and the maintenance guy was sent round to stop the bird feeding pronto.
If you want the Ritz, pay for it, if you want a holiday that is value for money, this is it, it's not perfect, but it is friendly, and you will enjoy your stay, even better is as you develop a relationship with the company you get better deals, last year late July 09 I paid £300 for a week, sent by e.mail as a special offer as long as I took that week, didn't get one this year as they are fully booked, now what does that say?
Going to Newquay this year, as the kids want to do something different, but I will miss the park and that area of Devon, it really is a sweet spot all round, and they've never let us down in four visits, 05-06-08-09.

5 star???!!!

this site is advertised as a family 5 star park so we parted with over £700 with the expectation of recieving a really top class holiday. What we actually got wasn't even close, marred mainly by the 'old gits' Chris and Derek from the band who were not the slightest bit funny, they hate children and the music was rubbish and out of tune. With 4 kids between 3 and 11 to keep happy the least we expected was decent 5 star entertainment but all we got was a band of old coffin dodgers that didn't entertain, just played. They seem so uninterested, however, the park has an affiliate park across the road called Ashvale which you can use and in contrast the entertainment here is very much 5 star. Although the room is much smaller and the decor a bit bland, it has a really good atmosphere and the entertainers are excellent, specifically Simon and Lisa (who Im gathering manage the team, we think they are a couple but we didn't like to ask!)
Beverley Park itself seems to be well-run on the whole but they are missing important elements which would have made for a better holiday. It's almost as if they are trying not be a holiday park and as a result some key holiday park type stuff is missing. For a start the bar shuts at 11pm!!! What's that all about???
I suppose I'm picking holes because overall it wasn't THAT bad, just not as good as we had been lead to believe and we were dissapointed with the band / entertainment.

Returned yesterday (23rd may) we had a great week, lovely weather and the caravan we had was modern and very clean, it had 3 bedrooms - (1double) (1x2single beds) and (1single bed), the double had its own toilet and shower and the two other bedrooms had a toilet & shower, full sized cooker + fridge + microwave + flat screen telly, the site was very clean and tidy (apart from the seagull [--]), the entertainment at night was very good and varied (many corny jokes)we felt they were very professional for a holiday camp and they put a lot of effort in , the price of drinks and food were about average ,our caravan was a Jubilee (36FT X 12FT) some of the smaller ones looked a bit older than ours , we didn't hear anybody complain (but you always get somebody who's not happy), I would recommend this park my granddaughter loved it, in peak season it could be abit more hectic but if you want a good family holiday Beverley parks the place for you !.

My husband and I booked this holiday with our 4 year old daughter in mind (who was 3 at the time) expecting to have a great time as it had been recommended by my in-laws. After a 9 hour drive we got to the park to be greeted by a frankly disgusting caravan and we had paid for a 'superior caravan!'. The caravan was unclean, full of spiders and cobwebs and all the dust had been brushed into the corners as well as having stained carpets. The toilet seat was broken and there were no batteries in the remote control! As it was about 6pm we just grabbed some food from the on-site takaway which whilst expensive wasn't particularly pleasant. Never-the-less we decided we would complain the next morning and get our daughter washed and to bed. When we went to put her in the shower we found it dirty and full of bugs overhead so had to put her straight to bed and spent the rest of the night trying to get it at least reasonably clean. The next morning we complained to reception who informed us that 'all she could do was to apologise' so we went off for the day expecting it to be resolved by the time that we got back. When we arrived back all that had been done was the batteries had been replaced! We tried to enjoy the rest of the holiday despite the endless rain and spent most of the time in the pool or the soft play which we had to pay £1 for everytime my daughter used it. They did put a film on in the main hall but it was transformers and wasn't suitable for her. The entertainment was fine as long as you got a seat my 6.30-6.45 pm after eating at the restaurant which was over-priced and not much choice given especially for children. We could of bought food at the shop but quite frankly due to the state of the caravan we really didn't want to use their cooking utensils. I have sent numerous letters of complaint and had a telephone conversation with the owner who has apologised and received a cheque for £50 and promise of money off a next holiday but I feel this is unsatisfactory especially when we paid £700 for a superior caravan for a week which we did not receive. I definitely could not recommend this holiday park though I have heard good things about its sister site marine park.

This is a lovely looking park. It is well looked after and for that it's worth the 5*.
Anyway, we arrived at the caravan, I was a little disappointed with how clean, or maybe how not clean things were. The toilet (around the seat) was dirty. The shower screen was full of smears, as was the mirror in the living room, the tv screen, the splash back on the cooker and the coffee tables. And I'm really not a overly clean person, but I was put off, especially as it was a *top of the range* caravan!
We quickly went to the outdoor swimming pool as the weather was lovely. It was LOVELY. A really good size, can't fault it at all. There is a indoor pool, but we didn't go in as it was always too busy.
Things for the kids. There is a children's room. Great for my 4 yr old, lego, a kitchen etc. My daughter who is 8 wasn't overly impressed. A bit of colouring and I think that was it. But, I do think it wasn't really supposed to be directed at a *junior*, which I think they do need to think of something for them (apart from pool etc). This all starts from 10am to 12am, so you can still have a lie-in!
The evening entertainment starts at 7.30 (I think), or the childrens room opens at 7pm.
We had to go out about 6.45 to get a seat, as it gets so busy, which my Other Half didn't like. Then Jubilee came on. Jubilee are the entertainment. I have to be honest and say I wasn't impressed with the two older men. To me, they seemed as if they had been doing it all far too long and they had lost interest, especially anything to do with kids! One of them was much like a headmaster and kids HAD to do as they were told, a bit of a misery in my opinion (and my fiance). One instance, a boy had one of those wands that flash different colours, the older one told him to move and switch it off while he was doing *his bit*. This happened more than once! Then there were the two ladies and Daz, whom I couldn't really fault. I think there's quite a mix (music wise). They start with kids dances, then there's something for the older ones, then the kids. So I really like this part, as some parks I have been to, it was 1/2 hr for the kids and that was it.
Overall, it really is a good park. But, for me, the older man (Jubilee) spoilt it. I think his heart has gone out of entertainment, mainly for the kids, but defintely not for his smutty remarks, and at 8-9pm, I personally don't think it's the thing to do at a family park.

Overall we were impressed with this site. The caravan accommodation was clean and the area was beautifully maintained, with lots of green areas to sit and enjoy a picnic.
The swimming pools at this site were excellent, clean, and well supervised. There are both indoor and outdoor pools, suitable depths for all ages with separate pools for the very young. There is also a steam room, sauna, and Jacuzzi for the adults.
Food on the site was well prepared and not over-priced.
The only complaint, although small, is that the entertainment was a let-down for families with children which was a surprise as it is sold as a family resort.
Several of the 'entertainment crew' were on the mature side (to put it politely) and we found them rather intolerant of the children, who at times were the only audience they had so it would have been nice if they had been a little more welcoming towards them!
If the site was able to update the entertainment available and accommodate the needs of all ages especially the children, this site would score a 10.

The park itself was lovely with a little area for toddlers to play.
Accommodation was clean, tidy and modern with all the required facilities expected. No air conditioning but we do have windows and we are talking UK, so is not generally required!
Although there were swimming pools, activity clubs etc we didn't venture to use these as this was a little walk to the second part of the park.
Just down the road was the water park anyway which is great for kids and a short stroll.
The only downside was the trek into Paignton itself. This was approx a 20 minute walk which although pleasant was along a main road and not very scenic. Good for burning calories up the hill on the way back though.

This is a Caravan park which is excellent for families who have children under 11. The evening entertainment kept all ages hooked! It is a small caravan park compared to the likes of Devon Cliffs, but I prefer this as the staff get to know you and your children.
There are 3 holiday parks in one, and you can use all facilities, regardless of which park you stay in.
The swimming pool is excellent, it has an indoor pool as well as two outdoor heated pools (and they were really heated!) The onsite shop was not overpriced and you are not far from the town and beach.

We have now had two excellent holidays at Beverley Park, in fact we enjoyed last years holiday so much that we booked again for this year before coming home! Both times we stayed in a Meadowside lodge.
The park is clean, there are good facilities, the bar/restaraunt serves good food. There are both indoor and outdoor pools which are fairly clean and tidy, and a gym. In addition to this is the wildlife to be found in the conservation area behind the lodges, we were treated to a nightly display from the resident bat colony.
This park would have got 10 out of 10 but for one thing, its on a hill, a very steep hill, otherwise, its an excellent, clean safe place for a family holiday. We will certainly be going again.

Fantastic Holiday Park. Top quality accommodation in lodges with a view over the bay towards Torquay.
Great facilities with 2 pools, a kids club, 2 major bars, restaurants, children’s play areas indoor & out.
Nightly entertainment starting with children’s 'hour'. The staff are friendly and very helpful and our children loved it. Superbly positioned for all local attractions & only 5 mins from the sandy beach at Goodrington.
I would recommend this to anyone with children, fantastic value.
